When I walked in the store with all sorts of big beautiful new sewing machines, I was afraid they would try to talk me into buying a new one, but happily - no. Instead, they looked over my machine and spent several minutes showing me what I was doing wrong, the damage I had caused, and told me what they would do to fix it. And then they did just that, in less than a week and for less than $100! She was so helpful, I bought some new threads and a supply of correct needles for my machine so I would be ready to roll. They were quite knowledgeable - I wish there were more folks around like this these days. As one myself, I like to support small independent business people that know what they're doing - much less do it with professionalism and a smile. I recommend them.

    Sew Right Sewing Machines
Part of the top plate and tension control had melted under a tensor light but they solved the friction problem by cutting a larger opening for the partially bent tension wheel -- the owner's idea -- since it was not possible to get replacement parts. Did a great job, less expensive than other maintenance services I have used in the past. Cost included two twin-needles that I purchased. Owner and staff knowledgeable and very helpful, friendly. Definitely worth going a bit out of your way to use them.

    SEWING MACHINES ETC
THE ENTIRE JOB WENT VERY WELL. THE MANAGER EXPLAINED EVERYTHING IN GREAT DETAIL AND RECOMMENDED THAT I FIX THE SEWING MACHINE BECAUSE IT WAS A QUALITY MACHINE THAT WAS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION. THE MANAGER WAS VERY CUSTOMER FOCUSED AND EASY TO TALK TO. THE ENTIRE PROCESS MORE THAN MET MY EXPECTATIONS.

    Paramus Sewing Center
I took my Brother electronic sewing machines into the store to evaluate the problem. My thread was bunching under the bobbin. They had several different brands in the store. An elderly woman looked at my machine, and immediately said I had the wrong bobbin in the machine. She changed it out, adjusted the tension, and the machine was 75% better. She also said the wrong bobbin case was in the machine. It had gotten lost, and I reordered one online. With a new bobbin case and servicing, the cost quoted was $150 (approx.). They also suggested spending $50 more, and purchasing a new machine with all metal interior parts. They provide free training on how to use any machine you purchase from them, for as long as you need help. The training teaches you how to use the different accessories, how to maintain the machine, etc.; But they do not teach "sewing lessions". Since this was a machine going to my sister; she decided to purchase a new machine. She lives in another state, so unfortunately could not make the purchase in Paramus. These are the REAL old school people who really know the ins and outs of the sewing business. I highly recommend them to anyone at any level.

    Sew Right Sewing Machines
After hearing about this sewing center in Queens, I made the trip out from Manhattan and am so glad I did. The store is smallish but very attractive, stocked with new machines, all sorts of notions, quilting fabrics, and sewing classes, in addition to a machine repair department. The sales staff is simply outstanding - friendly, helpful and professional. We became friends at once, and my machine was checked over and reconditioned in a couple of weeks. I was sped on my way with helpful advice about public transportation (I have no car) and I was abler to catch a bus (QM6) back to midtown Manhattan with my machine. Highly recommended.

    Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores
It is a store within a store. The store is fine. She is phenomenal when it comes to knowing anything and everything about Viking sewing machines, singer sewing machines, and other sewing machines. She is extremely knowledgeable, in all those areas, plus quilting, sewing, fixing machines, trouble shooting machines, she does dolls, she does jewelry making, she does all and she is very well versed in all sorts of craft. If you need anybody, to talk to you about any type of sewing project, big or small, she knows it. Her machines go from 10,000 Dollars and down. She will not sell you anything that you don't need, she knows products and she knows people, and she is very good at what she does.
