    Gallagher Irrigation & Pools
I have nothing but the best to say about Gallaghers and their team. I hired them to come and replace/ relocate some of my sprinkler heads dude to lack of pressure. The Gallagher team answered me back almost immediately and got over to my house the next day and resolved my issues. They were very diligent and thorough and I can now look forward to having my grass watered properly and I have even found my new long term pool service through them as well after learning they also offer their services in that Field as well!! Thank you so much to the guys over at Gallaghers I highly recommend them for hire!!

As I always do, I was going to call Dunrite at 9AM to find out what time they were coming to open the pool. To my great surprise, they arrived totally unannounced at 8AM. I had just let out my dog, and if I hadn't called her back in, they would have opened the gate and she would have fled. Now they tell me there are two problems with the pool. 1. There is no hardware for the railings that go into the steps. First of all, the railings are connected to screws at the top of the deck and then placed into the steps. There is no hardware as far as I know. They could not locate the salt cell loop. This is a very large piece connected to the salt generator. When I asked another pool company about this part, they told me it should be removed every winter. I have had a salt-water pool for about 8 years, and as far as I recall, the part has never been taken out over the winter. Also, I was working on the pool the day before they came, and the part was attached. After the pool guys left (after no more than 10 minutes), the part was gone. I am not accusing anybody, just saying what I know. I will admit that seeing the pool guys come at 8AM without warning, I was not in the best of moods. But when i suggested to one man that he provide the hardware for the railings, he said, "It's not my job to provide any hardware." What, you're opening pools and you don't have any parts in your truck? Amazing. Do not, under any circumstances, have this company do any work on your pool.

For one thing they told us the wrong date. They said they were coming on October 9th, then the paper in the mail said October 5th. Then when my wife called them they said they were coming on September 30th. There was a little bit of confusion there. They did come when they said they were going to come. They did come on time.

South Shore Pools did a good job of closing my pool.  They were very professional and did a good job.  Here's the problem.  They give you a week when they are coming, but refuse to give you a day.  My pool was ready to be closed for more than a week, with leaves and acorns falling into the water (no pool company vacuums the pool anymore).  No one came all week, so on Friday morning I called.  They told me that the men were coming that afternoon.  Apparently, West Babylon is last on their list, because they didn't show up until four o'clock!  When I used them to open the pool, the same thing happened-last on the list!  I have never before dealt with a pool company they wouldn't tell me what day they were coming!

, In the past, I always paid a pool company when they finished the work. Dunrite now wants full payment in advance before they will even come to your house. When I complained about this, I was apparently put on their and quot;bad customerand quot; list. Even though I called early in the summer, I was unable to get a closing date earlier than October 13, much later than I wanted. When they came, they went right into the backyard, not even ringing the bell (luckily my dog was in the house). Although the workers seemed to know what they were doing, I was totally ignored. They only spoke to me when I was in the backyard and they couldn't help it! When they finished, they left without my knowledge, leaving their bill (which I had paid in advance) in the mailbox! I guess they did a good job of closing the pool and did come when they said they would (before noon), but their attitude stinks! And their prices are too high for the service you get.

    Precision Pool Solutions Inc

I plan to have them open the pool next season.

Ted is personable and clearly knows his stuff. It's such a pleasure to find a service provider that calls you back, comes on time and charges reasonable rates. I've already referred a friend and will continue to do so.

Can't say enough great things about them. They are professional, responsive and know their pools. We have used them for supplies and service now. They came to close our ingroud pool which has a tricky loop lock cover, they put the cover on correctly, which we have tried 3 other pool companies in the past, all had to come back because the put the cover on incorrectly or broke something in the process. Ruth is a pleasure to speak to on the phone. We will only call them going forward.

    Long Island Pool & Spa
The majority of my dealings were with the owner, Tim Greco. He gave us a deal on a floor model (last year's) swim spa that would be refitted with new jets, pumps, lights, control panel, spa cover, and exercise equipment. We put over 5000 dollars down and paid the balance when we were ready to accept delivery about a month and a half later. This was on a Saturday and we asked Tim if it would be possible to deliver the tub the coming Friday. He said his delivery guy would be by on Monday to inspect our property and we would receive a call that day with a delivery date and setup information.

Monday came and went without so much as a voicemail. Tuesday was almost the same until I called them up for the delivery information. I was told Tim was not in but someone would call me back with an update. Over an hour goes by with no return call so I call back. This time I give my information to another associate who said they had a lot of customers at that moment and they will call me back shortly. Another hour goes by with no return call. I decided to drive to the store to find out what was going on and the only people there were 3 employees and a food delivery person. After giving my personal info AGAIN one of the employees finally called up Tim or his delivery guy and tells me he will be by my house tomorrow (Wed.). Wednesday comes and goes with no phone call, no note in the mailbox, nothing. I finally get a call from Tim on Thursday, the day before we wanted the tub delivered, where he tells me they can't deliver it Friday and they would shoot for "next week". This is pretty much how the majority of the calls we made to Long Island Pool and Spa would go. Days would go by without any contact on their part. It wasn't until my wife threatened to take our business elsewhere that a delivery date was finalized; but due to the delay I couldn't even arrange for my electrician to hook up the electric for it.

Once we got the tub delivered and resolved the electric installation issue, it turned out the spa wouldn't even turn on. By sheer coincidence Tim was going to stop by to give us a tutorial on the controls and drop off a chemical starter kit the day after we hooked up the electric. He determined there was a connection issue with one of the pumps and returned later that day to fix it, but less than a week later the problem returned. He then said he would schedule a tech to replace the wiring but wasn't very clear on when he would show up. It was another 2 weeks before the tech came to repair the pump, and during that time not only did the spa develop a leak, it was only until I went to the store to speak to Tim about the lack of communication on his part that I received a definite day of when the tech would show up. Of course while the day was set, the time wasn't. By 2pm that day I called to find out when the tech would arrive and was told between 4 and 5pm. By 4:45pm still no show, so called back again and was told he was on his way and will be there in 15-20 minutes. By 5:55pm still no show, so called AGAIN and was told he just left for my residence and will be by shortly. He finally showed up at 6:25pm. On the upside, he did figure out the pump issue and leak were related and fixed both accordingly.

But there is more. When the spa was delivered, we learned the circuit board for the lights was faulty and needed to be replaced. Also, the spa cover and exercise equipment had not been delivered yet-we made the down payment almost 2 months prior, so why have these things not been delivered yet? Were they even ordered in the first place? We were given a temporary spa cover that had some wear and tear in the interim; however, this is how regular follow ups of our missing items would go:

By the end of the week we received no materials or messages from Long Island Pool and Spa. I would then call or go to the store Thursday or Friday to find out where my remaining purchases are. Tim would tell me the items should be in "sometime next week" but he will deliver them the day he gets them. By the end of the following week we still would not receive any equipment, nor would we get a phone call regarding them, and the cycle would just repeat itself. I would get excuses that it is a freight issue or there was a delivery mix up each time. This went on for the whole month of July and first week of August. And only one time did I ever get a phone call from his side informing me that it would not be in "until next week". All of the other times I had to call him, and every time I called or stopped in the store, I had to give his staff member my name and address. After the 3rd week of being put in a runaround, you would think they would know my information by heart!

By August, I thought things were changing for the better. On two occasions the delayed items were actually delivered or repaired without me having to call about them or get another excuse for their delay. I received the spa cover one week (although all of the packing material was left on my backyard grass) and the following week the board for the lights was replaced. Of course I got my hopes up and thought the last item, exercise equipment, would come the following week. Alas, the week went by with no equipment, no phone call, not even a note in my mailbox. The following Tuesday I went to the store to find out what the story was. Tim was not in but I spoke to an associate who again asked for my information: He finds a package and asks me if it was what I was waiting for. The package said "Swim Tether" on it so I didn't know if it was my equipment, but isn't it the job of the employee to know what their products look like? He leaves a voice message for Tim and says he will call me back by the end of the day. No call ever came. I do get called the next day by Tim telling me that is indeed my exercise equipment and it's ready for me. Since everything else was delivered to my residence, I asked if it can be dropped off. He tells me they can deliver it Thursday. Once again, the week came and went: no equipment, no call, no note. So today, the last day of August, 2 months since I received the spa, I went to the store to pick up the last item (which was supposed to be delivered) of my original purchase from 4 months ago.

The only good things I can say about this business is that I did get a great price on the spa and aside from the issues mentioned in this review, the product is of decent quality. But Long Island Pool and Spa is only a dealer, not a manufacturer.

This place has no regard for customer service or common courtesy, and once they get your money you are simply an afterthought. The fact that they are the only dealer of the brand of spa I purchased within 100 miles allows them to treat people this way. They tell you what you want to hear even if they cannot guarantee follow through, only give you information when you call or visit them rather than take initiative, and never even offer so much as an apology for giving you the runaround. It was so stressful at times my wife wanted to pay for the spa to be returned even though it would have put us out nearly 4000 dollars.

I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to do business with this company. I currently have 2 other issues with the spa regarding the ozonator and a valve LED, but it looks like I will need to find someone else to fix them if I want it done before winter.
