    Al-Arsh Construction Corp
Wonderfully. The Al-Arsh crew is always reliable, prompt, professional and highly-skilled. Their work is always done exceptionally well and the owner, Malik, always makes sure it is finished to perfection. Even when we needed something tweaked or if plans changed after they finished, they come and do whatever is needed when needed, cheerfully. Their prices are more than fair and they guarantee their work. We have had Al-Arsh do work for us over the years totaling at least $250K and we ALWAYS chose them.

    TONY & LORENZO CONSTRUCTION
The bathroom renovation went well there was some miscommunication I just felt they were being spiteful they put the hand towel bar over the toilet which I did not want and they refused to change it. In the beginning of the renovation I wanted a wall closed and the couple of dimmer switches in the back bedrooms. they're going on a contract for $19,100 then I change my mind about the wall and I was still charge for it. I bought ceiling fans with dimmer lights so they never install the dimmer switches in the bedroom and I was charged for it. In the contract that stated provide and install all new light fixtures I bought all the light fixtures and I was charged for it.and to top it off I looked around my house and I noticed things were missing like my saw all and my painters stick which I confronted him about and they returned it.gloves and towels were used by the workers without my permission it was an overall horrible experience and I feel I got taken to the bank.never again. And then they finish the job they never put on the The switch and outlet plates and they left it up to me to do.

    Creative Construction of Brooklyn
I'd first like to thank my fellow Angie's List member for taking the time to read my review. On the phone they were pleasant, courteous and extremely accommodating. The place I called a week before gave me attitude, seemed like they didn't want the business and told me I would have to pay double time because it was the weekend.
The team was professional from the start. The itemized estimate was easy to follow with all costs up front clearly stated for all the work that would be done during the renovation. Nabir consulted with us during the renovation to ensure we would be happy with the end result. Throughout the renovation Nabir and his crew were pleasant and professional. The bathroom renovation came out great.
Nabir and his team did great work on my outside wall. The outside stucco was great and waterproofing on the wall was awesome. No more water licks on winter and rainy day.
These guys are very professional with what they do, I would definitely recommend them to friends and family and fellow Angieslist members.

    ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley
Joe did an excellent job with my house. I contacted him at the beginning of the year mainly due all the good reviews and amazing photos of his completed work. He gave me a price that I thought was fair and on top of that he added little details at no extra cost to make the house look even better. We didn't start the work until after six months due to closing delays on my side. One thing that I really liked about Joe is that he was always calling to find out how things were going with closing the deal and he didn't put any pressure on starting the job or changing his price due to my delay. Once his crew started working on the house the results started to be noticeable right away. The replacement of the windows, siding and stucco took less than five days. The front of the house was done in stone as well as the stoop and the front garden anchor stone (this took longer due to detail and craftsmanship required to properly install the stone). My wife and I couldn't be happier with the final results of the house. It came out better than what we expected. Another thing to note is that Joe completed 99% of his contracted work and had to stop because the two front doors that I ordered from Home Depot took an extra two weeks to arrive. In my experience other contractors would have been really annoyed at having to stop the work and have to come back to finish the work. Joe stopped and came back without complaining and finished the work as soon as the doors arrived. Overall my experience with ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley was great and I would definitively use him for any other project that requires his services. He is professional, honest, puntual and more importantly he delivers the product advertised. I would highly recommend ACJ to anyone who is looking for an excellent quality end product at a reasonable price.

    Doniko Construction
Renovations went accordingly with the original plans.  All deadlines were met, in spite of inclement weather.  We remodeled an entire 4 bedroom home in 3 months (during the worst winter in the north east). We added and changed some things as we went along, he was very attentive, patient and always looked for a resolution. He was very easy to communicate with, and always available for questions.  His knowledge and expertise are reliable and he usually had a better opinion or idea.  He is very creative and has a passion for making things look beautiful. After all is said and done, our home is beyond beautiful.  Little details like our back splash in the kitchen, the gorgeous fire place, the custom mirror he tiled a frame around in the master bathroom, are just some of the things he did that upgrade our home.

    BJ General Contracting
They were great. Nice guys, honest, hard workers, they were responsive to our suggestions and didn't try to sell us on anything we didn't need. I felt that they really worked with us to find the best and most cost- effective solution. They fixed the problem for a good price. And it looks great!

    Knockout Masonry Corp
This report is a month overdue! Jimmy came to our newly purchased home, a rather traditional (old) Queens row house, in August too look at the crumbling masonry/stucco on a front portion of the house. He looks young but is a least the third generation of masons. His estimate was higher than others we had contacted but we went with Knockout based on my interaction with Jimmy and the reviews on Angie's List. His work is so good he books a few months in advanced, we were fortunate to be available when another job was delayed, so our wait was only about a month. JImmy and his crew showed up on time, worked with the less than great conditions (no outdoor water source) and finished the job on the second day. They did a fantastic job, one that our neighbors still comment on. This is not a quick fix, Jimmy does things with an old-world craftsmanship, and that area of the house looks brand new.
We will look forward to hiring Jimmy again in the spring to repoint the brick so the rest of the house looks as good as what he has already repaired.

    John Santiago Interiors
We hired John when we first bought our house to redo a bathroom and the walls of two bedrooms, then again a year later when we embarked on more ambitious renovations. At every step of the way, John, his foremen (we worked with Carlos & then Tony), and his workers have exceeded our expectations.

John spent many hours with us in advance of the renovations working out every detail, and had excellent ideas and extensive knowledge to help guide us. Where there were issues he wasn't as familiar with, he went out and did research to figure out the best solution for us. In situations where I knew what I wanted, he was able to execute it just as I'd hoped, and when wasn't clear about what I wanted, I loved John's designs -- the pergola that he designed is a thing of beauty.

Once work started, John and his team were dependable, good at communicating, and extremely accommodating to requests and changes (which I tried to keep to a minimum, but which invariably come up!). I work at home and honestly found it enjoyable to have the team around -- they were very tolerant of my watching them work & asking questions. And Tony went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me troubleshoot & address even small issues that were not related to the renovations underway. I miss them now that they're gone, but I LOVE the outcome -- their attention to detail has really paid off.

When we got initial estimates on the work that we wanted done, John's was neither the highest or the lowest, and in the end though we probably could have spent less, I would say that what we paid was far more than fair for what we got. I have recommended John to everyone I know and I look forward to calling on him for projects in the future. Renovations are just not supposed to be this easy!

    M Acierno Construction Corp
We live in an attached, row-style house circa 1950. It is brick, 3-stories and only two walls are exposed to the elements. We started getting water through the rear brick wall. We brought in several contractors from Angie's list and received a variety of prices and opinions about what to do with the wall. Some wanted to point (refill the mortar between the brick) and some wanted to stucco over, the entire wall. Also, the front steps to the building had some cracked limestone steps, plus they were sagging. The final contractor we spoke with was Mike Acierno. He looked at the brick wall and confirmed that the mortar was beyond repair (pointing) and recommended putting a waterproof, colored stucco over everything. He explained that attempting to point would ultimately be more costly if sections of the wall collapsed during the pointing process and he had to rebuild. We agreed to the stucco work and he included repairing the front limestone steps plus painting  the metal fire escape (which was rusting). His price was more than fair, considering that the front steps repair was included (nobody wanted to fix it, only tear it down).  We are delighted with the finished job!  His crew did AMAZING work! They were neat and careful. His workmen were friendly and polite. They delivered exactly as promised and more. They cleaned everything up and removed all the debris. The job was finished on-time. We were happy to pay the bill and will definitely use Mike Acierno Construction again. GREAT JOB, MIKE! THANKS!!  A+++

    ACJ Remodeling-Joseph Ashley
Joe gave me an estimate and let me know when he thought they could start the work. They began the work on time and stayed on budget. He manages the number of people he has working very closely, so the work can get done quickly and everyone is busy. It went well. We were all frustrated by the heavy rain that interrupted the stucco work. The end result is quite lovely. How nice to look out my back window at a lovely garage instead of the tin can we had there before. The materials they used were top notch and the end result is impressive. The stucco work included a brick veneer border, and they topped it off with crown molding. I also like that Joe stays involved in the process. It is reassuring that he seems so interested in how happy you are with the results.
