Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Astoria

Best contractors we have ever worked with. We will definitely use them for anything we need in the future. Every single day, they showed up, ON TIME like clockwork, and worked hard. I cant say that for other companies we have worked with. Now I realize how bad the other companies were! Finished on schedule (3-4 weeks). Very friendly crew, easy to work with. Everything was no problem. :) Gave my husband and I piece of mind. They know what theyre doing, and even though we kept piling on projects after the initial work was started, they still finished within the original time alotted. Really, really good guys.

I hired David to renovate a 3BR apartment which included a full gut of the bathroom, new kitchen floor and backsplash, and painting of the interior and exterior balcony. David and his guys were very professional, arrived on time, left a clean job site and were able to think creatively through problems. His estimated time to complete was 3 weeks but he did it in about 2 given he had someone working every day. I am very happy with the quality and craftsmanship of the job and grateful to have found an honest and trustworthy contractor for my future projects!

They were great at adapting to a larger than anticipated project scope (we decided to install a washer and dryer, which meant lots of electrical and plumbing work) and getting the necessary paperwork/permits for the co-op board.

We just used JSI for a big renovation project in our coop apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We combined two units together to create a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom with laundry room and separate den/playroom, and we ended up ding an almost full gut renovation of the entire combined space while living there. The entire project took 6 months (including the addition of a second bathroom renovation which was not part of the original plan), and I can honestly say this was the smoothest renovation project Ive ever been through. Lorenzo and his team were skilled, efficient, honest and hard working. They arrived promptly at 9 AM every day and left a 5 PM every day, as per our coop rules. They respected all of the other strict coop rules, followed all of the coops procedures, and our resident manager and building management said they were one of the best contractors theyve worked with. Navigating coop rules for alterations and construction can be a bit of a headache, so the fact that John, Lorenzo and their team could make this part smooth and problem-free was a huge help. Additionally, because we were living in the apartment during the construction, John and Lorenzo were helpful in protecting our living spaces while the work was going on, and were extremely patient with our many requests and questions about the various transitions between work stages, and they were so respectful of our privacy and safety, as we have two young children and wanted to ensure that the production and existence of dust, debris and other dangerous items was controlled. Lorenzo and his team were professional and courteous and nice to our children and caregivers. In terms of the end result of the work, they did a beautiful job. We basically gut renovated the apartment, including a total renovation of two full bathrooms, the creation of a laundry room (with a sink), creation of hallways, new flooring, and bedrooms and closets. We used extremely delicate and high-end marble for the entirety of both bathroom walls and floors, and the work that Lorenzo and his team did on the marble was meticulous and beautiful. The paint job was also very good, as was the carpentry. Any issues we discovered were addressed promptly. My favorite part about working with John was how responsive he was. He answered texts, emails and phone calls promptly. He was genuine and really cared about the quality of the service and the work. And thats not something that should be considered lightly, as my past experiences of working with contractors and other service providers was quite the opposite. John was honest and direct about issues, timelines, tactics, etc. John was also on the job site at least once a week throughout most of the project checking on progress, keeping in communication with our building management and super, and would come to the city on an ad hoc basis whenever we requested. We strongly recommend John Santiago Interiors, in particular Lorenzo and his team. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about them as they made an inherently difficult situation as smooth and pain free as possible. We were sad to see them go!

Andy and his team are absolutely fantastic, and I am relieved that I found a contractor I can trust. I recommend them to all my friends and anyone interested in a TRUSTWORTHY, RELIABLE, HONEST, EFFICIENT, PROMPT, and HIGH QUALITY PERFECTIONIST contractor who shows up on time, delivers on his promises, and performs the work in a timely manner. I read positive reviews on Angie's List before hiring, and was excited to find them true. While I'm a skeptic by trade (attorney), and don't normally write reviews, Andy and his team are now my "go-to" contractors for everything in future. They also think about the project in the right way : cost-effectiveness but without sacrificing high quality work. The results speak for themselves (see attached "before and after" photos). My kitchen and bathroom were in desperate need of an upgrade, and now I have a completely different and wonderful apartment. His team showed up on time, performed the work in a safe and professional manner, and finished the project with such speed (without sacrificing high quality results) I was left stunned (e.g., demolishing both the old kitchen AND bathroom in full, AND removing the debris in one day (!)). This was a complete gut renovation for both a kitchen and bathroom. I found his estimate reasonable for the scope of work involved (indeed, another vendor quoted twice as much), and more so given the end-product and timeliness of his performance. My cramped, pre-war galley kitchen was transformed into a modern, open island kitchen design. He also did a tub-to-shower conversion in the bathroom, including upgraded electrical and tile work (beautifully done). A lot of work needed to be done on my place. And Andy's work was well-worth the money. Honestly, look no further. Few people can be relied upon nowadays, but Andy and his team retain that "pride in one's work" ethos. He was in constant communication (even texting progress photographs while I was at work). My apartment was kept in clean condition and I trusted his team. If you're looking for a "no nonsense", timely (if not speedy), high quality construction experience, give Andy a call. He will give a frank estimate that will not materially differ from the end price. I'm VERY happy with the experience and final product (again, see the "before and after" pictures for the results - it's even better in person). I WILL be calling on Andy again for future work.

The craftsmanship, quality of work is outstanding. If there was any issues he brought it to our attention and explained it in a matter so we could go mderstand the issues. We will continue to use him on future projects.

The bathrooms both look absolutely gorgeous. The contractor helped us pick out the design, and products needed. The demolition was done professionally and without problem. The build was also done quickly and without problem.

At first it was fine. The owner, Anthony came over, took measurements, and notes about what we were looking for. A few days later, he emailed over the quote. Everything looked good so we decided to proceed with him. So he says his foreman needs to come over and look at a couple things. Sure, sounds reasonable right? Wrong. This guy comes over and starts requoting phase 1 of our project - replacing the baseboards. I'm no expert, but baseboards are straightforward. But here he is, standing in my living room telling me the first quote didn't include quarter rounds and we need some special height of baseboards..... Which is so surprising because I made it crystal clear that we wanted to replace exactly what we have currently. Then the kicker, he's charging 4x what home depot does for materials. Um, seriously? Why the **** would I pay you 4 times what I could get for myself? So he leaves and I send Anthony an email saying we expected a full quote the first time (doesn't everyone?) since that was a huge part of how we decided who to work with, and like most people, we expect to not be ripped off for materials. He says the quote is complete and seems annoyed that we dare question one of his employees. So we get the new quote and lo and behold, it's double the original. After that bait and switch waste of time, we decided we're not going to work with this liar. Anthony, if you're reading this, don't waste your customers' time with multiple "quotes" for the same portion of work - We all have better things to do, and please don't think you can get away with charging double what you tell people things will cost originally. If you've read this far, you can guess we hired a different contractor. The price was steeper to begin with, but it's stayed the same and that's a neat trick I've come to appreciate. Estimated Cost-$70000.00

VAV was excellent! Vali was a very hard worker, and he was meticulous in completing every step of the project in the best way possible. Also, he was very reliable throughout the process and provided helpful suggestions and perspective along the way that actually helped us save a lot of money. We are so happy with the work done, and we will definitely use VAV for future work.
