Home Inspection reviews in Astoria

This could not have gone any better. I am a first-time home buyer and I am learning as I go. I literally know nothing about what is happening until it's actually happening. That said, Richard B. from NY Finest Home Inspections was PHENOMENAL! He provided us with a thorough walkthrough of our potential home, explaining EVERYTHING in layman's terms, showed us how everything works, gave us things to look out for, educated us on lifespans of appliances and utilities, gave us suggestions and provided a thorough report with pictures in about two days. He took his time and really made sure we understood and felt comfortable with all of the the information. He was personable, friendly, and truly a pleasure to work with.

Since this was not for a certification, just for our own peace of mind, Ed let me know that he wouldn't need to take as many samples - since testing is paid per sample, this saved a lot of money. He was also very forthright about which areas presented a risk and which didn't. It was all very clear, very quick and gave us what we wanted.

It went great - John was very responsive, punctual, and thorough, and I am happy that he was able to identify issues that we wouldn't have been able to find on our own.   He also provided a detailed PDF report afterwards that was very useful for us.
Would be happy to hire John for future work.

Lou was professional, on time, attentive to every detail, trustworthy, and generally a pleasure to work with all around. He took us through every single part of the home, and knowing we were first time buyers, took his time, and answered all questions. He also scaled a garage to check out the roof (like he was Spiderman.) Very impressive. His detailed report at the end of the process (with photos) was priceless during our negotiation process, and we referred to it constantly. On top of all that, he beat every other estimate we got for the job. We would definitely recommend Lou and use him again. Thanks Lou! -- Julia and Dan

We reside in a 3 brick home in Queens. Like in many areas of Queens, there are new developments and buildings going up so quickly these days. Well, it hit home for us. Unfortunately, the new owner of the adjacent building is planning to demolish and build a new 8 unit complex and extend right up to our side wall. We were very concerned how this new project will affect the structural stability and the pre-existing condition of our home. We called Gregory to conduct a pre-contruction/pre-demolition survey with photos. Gregory was so pleasant to work with from the start. He showed up promptly on a Sunday and was very easy to talk to. He inspected both interior and exterior of our home which was a complete survey of all 3 floors including the garage.
He is mild manner man with strong work ethics and professionalism. You can trust him to send you detailed reports with photos for your records. He will email it to you so it is very convenient and a quick response summary of the condition of your house. The cost for this type of work usually can range from $750-800, but Gregory's fee was much lower, an average of $450 and $500 with photos. The quality of his report is well written, detailed oriented, and an honest feedback that you can appreciate. The report is a good framework to use to assess what you need to do to improve or not to do for that matter. Greg also answers questions after the visit. I had some questions about waterproofing and he emailed me back rather quickly and with good advice. He is a licensed engineer and I would highly recommend him.

Steven was wonderful, explaining what he did as he did it, grilling the current owners for important details, and letting us know what concerns he had. Everything from major (some odd issues with the electric panel that we'll need to get taken care of) to the minor (you can put baby powder on squeaky floors to make them squeak less!) was addressed. And he was a really nice guy, besides! Would definitely recommend to our friends.

I called for a last minute home inspection on a new construction home on 4/21/14.  Tommy responded right away and to my surprise was available to inspect the home the next day.  He arrived exactly on time for the inspection and got right down to business.  He was exceedingly thorough and professional.  He took the time to explain each step of the inspection and what he was looking for and answered all questions in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.  We finished the inspection in about 2 hours and I was shocked to find a copy of a 50 page report, full of pictures, sitting in my email the next day with a hard copy to follow soon after.  I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspection in the Long Island area.

Lou is a consummate professional.  He is punctual, thorough, incredibly detail-oriented and accessible.  I never had a problem getting a hold of him.  When I did need him to get back to me to confirm our date, he was very prompt about calling me back and returning my email.
He arrived at the inspection 20 minutes early ? and on a day when it was 14 degrees outside with wind chills that made it feel even colder!
Lou was incredibly thorough while conducting his inspection.  He made sure that he communicated with me about issues as he discovered them.  He?s incredibly knowledgeable and breaks things down for you in a way that is actually easy to understand.  His report was easy to follow and best of all, he had it ready the very next day.
Bottom line, Lou is great.  I HIGHLY recommend him.

Our inspector, Gene Cameline, provided a thorough home inspection for us. He took his time, totaling almost about 4 hours, to inspect every detail and to answer every one of my questions. The house is over 100 years old so we wanted to be sure to find anything that may be in need of repair before making our final offer on the house. Gene understood this concern and showed a tremendous amount of care, professionalism, and explained everything so we could make an informed decision throughout our house-buying process. The typed report was just as detailed as Gene was in person; including photos and color-coding to indicate different types of issues (health, structural, etc.).

After the inspection, we needed to get in touch with Keystone several times for follow-up questions and a re-inspection of a repair. Both Gene and Dave, the manager, were very responsive (returned calls within an hour and emailed follow-ups right away). We were impressed by their professionalism and positivity, despite our numerous calls and questions.

We would definitely recommend Keystone Inspections. They are thorough, experienced, and responsive. Keystone will certainly help you to make an informed decision before purchasing a house.
