    Euro Floors LLC
Working with Marcin and Euro Floors was without question the best experience I've ever had with a home improvement vendor. I live in a 90-year old building, and Marcin demolished my stone tile hallway floor (along with 2,000 lbs of concrete and old wood underneath it) and replaced it with oak wood to match my living room and bedroom floors. The results are absolutely beautiful. Through the entire process, Marcin was personally on site and was highly communicative, respectful, and professional. I was nervous having demolition done in my apartment for the first time, but Marcin put me at ease. Just over a day into the project, he discovered serious issues with the sub-floor (I'm directly above the basement ceiling) and walked me through how he intended to fix the issues, and the reasons why. It added extra cost and an additional 1.5 days to the project, but knowing that the issues were addressed properly and permanently is invaluable. Also, Marcin and his work partner kept my home as clean as possible considering that this sort of work generates dust no matter what. Euro Floors was recommended to me by a neighbor in my building and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone looking for high quality work at a fair price from a truly trustworthy contractor.

Mario and his crew were responsive and overall did a very nice job. He was flexible when I wanted to add a few projects and was very communicative throughout, regularly texting me photos and questions. He finished on time and on budget, even though we found a few problems along the way, as expected in an old house. A couple small things weren't finished perfectly (a little crooked or not flush), but these are minor quibbles. As contractors go, Mario is easy to recommend.

I needed to schedule refinishing to dovetail with painting and delivery of furniture. Adam was thorough in his description of sandless refinishing. He was prompt and very cooperative in working with my timetable. On the day of the job he and his crew arrived promptly. They worked efficiently and were very respectful of my home. When Adam came back near the end of the day (they were there the whole day) he let his crew go home so he could apply the last coat. Product was green and odorless which was essential for me to sign the contract. This is a very profession, thoughtful operation.

Pros: - Flooring work was fine; new floor looks good. - Prices were reasonable. - They were flexible when we told them we wanted the underfloor ripped out and replaced (this increased the project cost, but that was fair). - They got the necessary paperwork for the co-op to approve the renovation pretty fast. Cons The mess: - We've had our kitchen and bathroom renovated, and those contractors took steps to minimize the damage: they put up plastic sheeting every day to cover the walls/doorways; used butcher paper on the floor to create a path for themselves so they wouldn't leave bootprints; etc. These guys didn't do that, so I had to do a lot of frantic vacuuming/scrubbing each afternoon. - There are also drops of sealant on the hallway floor outside the nursery that I haven't been able to clean off; I asked if they had any recommendations in an email but they did not respond. Communication was an issue almost from the start: -On the day the new flooring was supposed to arrive, the delivery window came and went so I called and asked what was up. Turned out there was a delay in getting the shipment and the floor would arrive the next day. Which was fine, but it would've been nice if they'd told me that before I used up a "work from home" day for no reason. - After the old floor was ripped out and the sealant placed on the underfloor, we were told to let them know if we still noticed the cat urine smell. We didn't, but only because there was an overwhelming scent of something burnt in the room. We assumed this was the sealant. We called about the new smell, and they came back to put another coat of sealant on the next day (Friday). At that point, the guy doing the work told us that the smell wasn't the sealant, but melted wax on the underfloor. Which would've been good to know the day before. (Also: 10 minutes after he did the sealant and left, another guy wearing a Spagnoli t-shirt -- someone we'd never met -- knocked on our door and asked to use our bathroom. We said sure, because when you gotta go, you gotta go, but it was pretty weird. Especially since there are two fast food restaurants within sight of our building, both with restrooms, and we're a third-floor walk-up so not the most convenient option.) - We decided that since the underfloor smelled too bad to gage whether the urine smell was contained, it had to go. To their credit, they got back to me on Sunday night (I left a message on Saturday) and agreed to tear out the underfloor and replace it with plywood the following week. - After the underfloor was removed, the guy doing the work told me his boss would call me later that day to discuss timing/next steps. No one called. I called the next morning and got the "I was just about to call you!" response. - The day the guys were installing the new underfloor and flooring, I reminded them that they had to be out by 5 pm (co-op rules, and they'e very strict on this point). They were surprised, so I guess no one showed them the contract/list of regulations. If I hadn't been home to tell them to leave, my husband and I could've gotten in big trouble with our building. - On the last day of work, I left a check for the remainder of the fee on our table. I got an email a short while later with the final invoice, which said I owed $25 more than the amount on the check. I asked if I could pay that by mail, and they said not to bother, which was nice of them. Except then I took a closer look at the invoice, and saw that they had my initial deposit amount as $25 less than what it actually was. So my check was for the correct amount. - I came home on the last day to (a) dust everywhere and on everything; and (b), an unopened box of flooring. I called and asked about the box, and they said it was in case I ever needed spare floorboards in the future to repair broken ones. If they'd bothered to check with me or my husband, they would've known that we had absolutely nowhere to store this box. I emailed and said they could either pick it up by Monday, or we'd toss it. They emailed back and said they'd come get it Tuesday. They actually came and got it on Wednesday. (And no one bothered to call me on Tuesday -- I had to call them, again.)

We had a flooring job we needed to have completed in a finite window of time (old tenant was moving out and we had a week before we absolutely had to move in). From the getgo Ricardo was professional, timely, and responsive. He showed up as scheduled to see the unit, sent us the quote the next day and completed the work in the time he said he would. And our floors look GORGEOUS. The apartment looks completely different than the one we purchased. We couldn't be happier with him (and his crew's) work.

I want to relay a brief story about why these guys are great and why I will always select them for work in the future. They did a job for me, but something wasn't right as a result. Gregory, persistently called me and was really persistent about fixing the situation and making sure the work exceeded my expectations. They really wanted me to be satisfied and happy with the job - and that showed. Wish I could give an A+++ for responsiveness and customer service, because they deserve it. I would *definitely* hire them again for future jobs.

    Connection & Contracting
David started in February 2016 and our two families moved into the top two floors by mid-September 2016. It would have been sooner if the plumbers (different company that I hired independently from David) had done a better/faster job. That's a pretty quick turn-around for such a large project with so many moving pieces. We are very happy with the results. David was totally committed to the project, gave me good advice at critical moments, and we easily worked through the very few times we disagreed on how something should be done. He's a great contractor, and he's also a very honest and good person. I recommend him to everyone I can.

Great American Hardwood Floor Services Inc
I gave Ishmael extremely short notice (the day before) with not much information. The next day he showed up as requested, saw the floor, confirmed that he would actually be completed in one day, sanded and sealed the floor with 3 finish layers. I wasn't sure if I was going to get he floors done, because of the short timeframe that I had to move furniture in, but I'm so glad that I decided to and that Ishmael helped me. The floors look GREAT! They look brand new, I actually didn't think they could look so good. Ishmael was extremely professional, efficient and gave me a great finished product. He even filled in some existing gaps in the wood and gave me what felt like a brand new floor. I highly recommend him and already have to a number of friends.

    Gaudioso Contracting
We couldnt have asked for a better contractor than Gaudioso Contracting! My family purchased a two family home in Astoria in July of this year and then started the process of looking for a contractor. We reached out to a few contractors and were starting to get rather disheartened that even getting a comprehensive proposal and quote for getting the work done seemed to be a challenge. We found Gaudioso Contracting on Angies list and, based on the reviews, decided to give them a shot. Were so glad that we did! Their work was beautifully executed, on time, and within the budget discussed. The entire team, from Anthony to Luis the project manager and Allison from their office staff were always prompt in their responses to any questions and very organized in how they went about their work. They did an absolutely beautiful job painting, refinishing floors, replacing the roof of our garage and a long list of other things that needed to be repaired, updated or installed. Two weeks into the work we sent them another long list of repairs etc. that we realized we wanted done and they took those on without hesitation. They also did a great job cleaning up after all the work was done which was very much appreciated. It really was about as stress free a process as a house renovation can be. Well be renovating our cellar very soon and will, without hesitation, be going with Gaudioso Contracting for this project. Happy to give them an A rating!
