  Northern Floor Covering

  This was a wonderful experience. We had purchased expensive wool carpeting for a guest room approximately 4-5 years ago. Because of a family illness, the room got more traffic than we expected. The carpet wore poorly and was not appropriate for a high traffic area. Northern Floor Covering had an extensive selection and Natasha in the showroom was helpful in picking appropriate carpet. Bill Peters, the owner, oversaw the whole process and his installer was excellent. I recommend them highly.

  Bay Carpet

  Service was excellent , workers were on time fast & efficient. Staff was very knowledgable when it came to understanding what I wanted & what would match together nicely. The only downside was the blinds not being able to be installed for a month because of technical issues with the suppliers machinery breaking down (my blinds were custom orderes though, so I'm sure it was because of that)

  The man who installed my blinds was unbelievably sloppy, despite many years of experience as an installer.  I really couldn't believe the results.  He couldn't even measure accurately.  It seems to me that measuring would be a critical skill for this kind of job.  Also, he didn't finish the job on the first trip, and had to come back again.  He said the manufacturer of the blinds hadn't shipped all the parts.  Also, he didn't ask me which side of the window (left or right) I wanted the controls (chains and cord) on; he just decided for himself.  I'll NEVER again try to "save a few bucks" in future by ordering blines from Home Depot.

  Man came over to measure the room.The price given was great.Date set to remove the carpet.It never happened because although I postponed the time they said ,at the last minute we had to wait 2 days because they were in the middle of a big job!!!!We pulled up the carpet ourselves!!

  Bay Carpet

  Installation of carpet was good from beginning to end. Estimate was given at home and in a timely fashion. Phil Lowery who gave us the estimate was very courteous and professional, showed us a good selection and gave us a price that was competitive. Carpet was installed in a living room & dining room and 2 bedrooms in my mother's home in Queens. Installers were on time, knew what they doing, were neat and clean, and moved my mother's furniture with great care. Only criticism I have is that both installers were Spanish speaking. One installer, Hugo, knew a little bit of English but if I didn't have a working knowledge of the language, communication would have been difficult. Also, I would have liked a follow up call from Bay Carpet asking about my satisfaction with the work done.
  There was also an issue with Bay Carpet overcharging me. When I agreed to use them, Phil told me that I would have to pay 1/2 of the price prior to installation and the balance once the carpet was installed. I used 2 different credit cards. Subsequently, I saw that they had made an error and had charged me on two consecutive days, prior to the carpet being installed, and had also charged me another $1350 once the carpet was installed. As soon as I brought the error to their attention they credited my charge card for the overpayment.
  All in all I was very satisfied with the quality of work and the product but I could not give them an "A" overall rating because of the items I mentioned.

  It was a relief to work with Bay Carpet. Bay Carpets prices were fair a competitive I shopped around. Every representative I spoke with was patient and understanding of my needs and at the same time able to be direct and to the point, ensuring that we were both on the same page, on both the needs for budget and time line of this job. When I mentioned that the carpet was for a senior and we were concerned about the stability vs. being spongy base contractors were able to give me the comfort level needed that they new exactly what I was looking for and had past experience. Job needed to be staggered due to painting. Bay Carpet was willing to work with my timeline. They came in removed and disposed of carpets. When I was ready a few weeks later they came and
  installed carpets, again on my time line. Both teams were extremely professional no-nonsense, came in took care of job and went above and beyond in taking care of furniture as well as assisting putting back in place. I would certainly use Bay Carpet again as well as refer them.

  Bay Carpet

  The last step in a major renovation of the first floor apartment in our Sunnyside Gardens home was to have carpet installed.  I had to wait until the other work was nearing completion to schedule the installation.  I called Dan at Bay Carpet and he was extremely helpful.  As I live in California, I had gone to another store to find the carpet brand and color which Dan was able to locate for me, in spite of the manufacturer naming things differently in different regions.  He was got the carpet and installed it within a week, which was vital for the project to stay on schedule and be ready for the new tenant.  Having used Home Depot for previous installations and waiting over a month for delivery and then poor installation and customer service, Bay Carpet was a breath of fresh air.  They are helpful, punctual, and professional, all at a fair price.

  Salesman provided color samples of carpet for us to take home so tenants could select a color. They selected the color he recommended after visiting the house to measure the rooms. Installers arrived on time and were finished very quickly, to the relief of the tenants. They cleaned up after themselves nicely.

  Overall I was quite surprised at the professionalism and integrity of the sales personnel and the installers.  They did not rush us about to make a purchase, and asked us the right questions such as how high a quality of carpeting we wanted, the colours and fabrics such as all-wool or poly and whether we were putting it in a high-traffic area. They helped us select the right carpet for the room in question. Would definitely deal with them again!
