    I called just before 8am to report an a/c issue (groaning/straining sound but no air flow when turned on). The woman who answered the phone sounded honestly overwhelmed. They're crazy-busy; the weather is insanely hot/humid; it's a Friday, and my name didn't appear in their computer system (even though I had used them before). She was nonetheless pleasant and promised to get somebody to my house today, although she couldn't give me any idea when. Under the circumstances, that wasn't unreasonable. Tech John arrived at approximately 8:30am, much to my surprise (and delight). He fiddled around for 15 or 20 minutes, told me I'd need a new blower motor, and told me he'd return. He returned at 10:35am. After he realized that they had given him the wrong part, he had to run out again at 10:50am. He was very apologetic & explained it all to me, so I knew what was going on. He returned at 12:10pm and was finished by 12:45pm. Although I was dreading the prospect of one very long, hot day for myself and my dogs, it was less than 5 hours from my initial phone call to having cold air flow restored. I'm beyond happy - and I'm very grateful!

    Our first hot day of the season I noticed the airflow out of our vents was very low. Went  down to check the HVAC unit and filter was completely wet and there was a lot of water inside the unit.  I called our usual AC company but they had no availability for 4 days.  Called Sunshine and they had availability later that day which was fantastic.

    Technicians showed up on time and were very courteous and professional.  Diagnosed that there was not enough refrigerant. Said it would cost $295 on top of the $180 service call to refill the refrigerant. Did not even know at that point how much refrigerant was needed.  Thankfully I had an invoice from 2 years ago from our usual AC repair company which showed a price of $18/lb of 410 refrigerant.  When I asked Sunshine how much refrigerant he was going to put in, he said possibly 2-3 lbs, he wasn't sure.  Doing quick math in my head that came out to $100-150/lb. When I asked him about the discrepancy he said "prices have gone up".

    I appreciate them coming out on a holiday weekend. I appreciate how nice they were.  I did not appreciate them trying to gouge me. 

    I declined their offer of $150/lb of refrigerant. Called our usual AC company and it was refilled for $36/lb 3 days later.

    They maintained the price but they had some issues with the air conditioner and they had to replace the components. Their price was fair. They responded right away. They came when they said they would come.

    Gary was called in September 2014  to repair a leaking pipe and top off the freeon. He was paid in full .
    Given that this service was provided towards the end of the season , there wasn't adequate usage of the unit at the time. Once the weather warmed up, and the unit was turned on,  the pipe began to leak again. I reached out to Gary. We scheduled an appointment for April 27 at 4.00 PM. which was a no show. I called Gary at 4.15 and he said he was working on another job and was unable to make it. Needless to say he didn't have the courtesy to call me to inform me. He said he would call me in a couple of hours to reschedule once he got back to the office . I never heard from him. I waited two days and called and left a voice mail requesting to reschedule and never heard back from him.
    I would NOT use his services again given that the pipe he supposedly repaired and was paid for did not appear to be repaired.
    He was paid in full for services rendered, agreed to schedule an appointment to fix the problem , didn't show up, didn't reschedule as promised  and didn't return my follow up call either.
    If you're looking for somebody reliable, don't hire Gary's services.

    Chris was the service man. He quickly diagnosed our overactive boiler and fixed the problem.  Although we were told someone would be by early in the day we were actually the last call of the day but that was a minor issue.  Chris was extremely pleasant and competent and the office staff were very responsive in keeping us posted on when we could expect someone when I called.  Y & C fixed my boiler about 5 months ago for an unrelated problem and did a good job them too under emergency conditions of no heat.

    We recently bought an older house and have needed to have various updates made to the systems in the house. We interviewed a number of HVAC companies and I was most impressed with Plitnick for their knowledge, expertise, professionalism and responsiveness, we had a bunch of work done to our furnace which was done very professionally. We have also had to call in their plumbing team a number of times and we have been very happy with their work, as well. In fact once the plumbers came for what we thought was an emergency and the guys inspected the problem and determined that there was nothing to be done (regarding a leak) and left without charging us. I feel very comfortable with their expertise and even though the services are costly, I feel that it's worth it for peace of mind, since all the work they have done for us has been excellent quality.

    We were extremely happy with Westchester Air Duct Cleaning!  I spent a good deal of time researching best practices for cleaning air ducts and spoke to at least 10 different providers, until I found this company.  Manny patiently answered all of my questions about how he cleans the ducts, the operations of the furnace, as well as gave me advice on the best performing air filter to use in our system in the future.  I probably called him back 5 times with additional questions and scheduling concerns and he was patient and informative, and even had his team work on a Sunday so that the duct cleaning could be done after the contractors finished up.  His price is definitely higher than the other companies out there who claim to clean your ducts, but I gave him an "A" for price because I believe that the work his team does is much more thorough than the competitors!  For example, his team took about 6-7 hours to clean our ducts, the furnace and a/c coils, as well as the dryer vent.  Other companies claimed they could do the job in 2-3 hours, but after watching Manny's team work, I can't imagine how it could be done in such a short time unless it was a really inferior job.  Also, Manny's team uses HEPA filter which removes the small particles from the air, and only 1 other company that I spoke to actually uses a HEPA filter.  I also want to mention that his team was wonderful--very respectful of our home and a pleasure to work with.We will definitely use this company again when we need to have the ducts cleaned!

    Maximum Indoor Comfort
    The service was completed same-day.  The AC required some refrigerant and I learned a bit more about the heating system.  All in all it was a good experience.  The thing to keep in mind is that most homes have multiple systems, so you may need to have service contracts for both sets.

    Overall, I'd break it down two ways:  the actual install and the adminstrative side
    • Install Side was A++
      They came on a Saturday to do the estimate.  After i finalized the proposal, they were able to start install within 48 hours and were complete in 2 days.  The workers left the house clean and everything seems to be working fine so far.  I couldn't ask for anything better.

    Administrative Side was B
    Getting the quote took a few days.  Paid invoice copy/receipt took 4 days.  Missing booklets for the outdoor units with original serial number information.  Rebate information was provided ad-hoc instead of a simple form with all the info.  Shouldn't your installer ID# be included?  Maybe it's me having high expectations like how i treat my customers.

    Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely recommend Y&C.
