  • The overall project went very well. I had bought all the material I needed before contacting Joe. He came over the same day I called him to give me an estimate on approximately 130 sqft. The subfloor was a little uneven due to it being a 40+ year old house so he suggested that I return the backer board so that he can use wire lathe in order to give him the breathing room to be able to level out the tiles with the tile mortar instead of having to mud up the room to save money. It was a great idea because it worked out great. Joe was on time every day. He kept the work area clean during and after work was complete for the day which is a plus because there are many contractors out there that don't care about clean ups. He was very pleasant to deal with from the beginning to the end of the job. Floor came out great! My grandmother was happy with the outcome and now we just need to complete the rest of the kitchen remodel. Will use Joe's services again if needed in the future and will recommend to others.

  • Lindo was super professional and super nice. The person on the phone, Jason, when I booked the appointment told me to buy the same color paint but in paint/primer mixed together. These are about $35/can by Behr - I bought 2 cans. I was also asked to purchase a package of Purdy rollers. I initially assumed the company would supply the rollers but I was OK with this. The painter felt the paint was very thick and asked me to run out and pick up a can of straight Behr paint without the primer mixed in as he felt the paint/prime mix was not going to go the distance.
Overall the painter did an excellent job. Paint did end up on my wood floors as he explained the paint was leaking through the paint tarp he laid down somehow. He cleaned it all up. It was water based paint so it cleaned up easy.
The only negative is we had the job booked for the previous Wednesday and the painter forgot and thought it was the following Wednesday so I waited around only to find out no one was coming at our appointed time and then had to reschedule the job a week later.
    I would use them again.

  • Installation was on schedule with a few minor details completed later. Chris is very knowledgable flooring professional who apparently believes in quality results for his customers. I am pleased with my new floors and recommend the services of this company. Note: in the past 20 months I have hired 9 different contractors for my home. Of those Floor King is one of only two that I recommend.

  • We had to take out our kitchen floor and called empire to install a new floor. Overall it went well. We had a problem with the amount owed but the installers called the office and cleared it up right away. The only thing that irked me was that they would not leave any extra pieces just in case a piece got damaged. So far the floor looks great, time will tell how good it will look in years to come. The installers were professional and on time.

  •   We are so happy! Mr Mena came and surveyed the claw marks and general abrasion to my red oak Bella kitchen and hallway floors that I had installed by someone else in 2005, They had serious long scrapes in them from 3 Rottweilers that I dog sat for a dear friend, and general abrasion from sand on the wheels of my wheelchair. The finish was terribly sanded off by wear. While I went on vacation upstate, Mr Mena came and totally removed the factory finish and applied 3 coats of the very strong but very stinky Moisture Cure Polyurethane that you want in a kitchen so that you can damp mop without damaging the finish. It takes 3 visits and many hours to accomplish and you need to be out of the house or closed off in another part of the house to have such a thorough job with so many days of coatings done. But when we came back 3 days after the job was done it was hard and glossy and with hardly any odor. Thank you so much, Mr Mena, it is so nice to have gorgeous floors again!
