    after the first year the driveway started to break down. Ray gave excuses and never repaired. I had other concrete people look at it and said it was due to not being installed properly. Now after 4 years the driveway look awful and needs to be redone .. I lost $7,000.00 Thanks to Ray and Elite Concrete. I would never recommend them to anyone

We called Mr Larkin (Owner) and he sent his son right away to fix the minor problem. We have been using the door for last one week and it has functioned very well to our satisfaction.

    I asked the owner, Ray Mang, to keep the driveway he poured for me several inches away from the property line which he did, and to pitch the concrete away from our garage and house which he also did. But after the job was finished, it rained that night and the next day there was a puddle about 5 or 6 feet in diameter in front of the garage. Standing water like that is going to collect mosquitoes in the summer. The winter freeze/thaw cycles will destroy that part of the driveway, not to mention make it a slip hazard for the elderly like me and my wife. I was furious and stopped payment on his check. I argued with him for a half an hour while he kept blaming the screw up on the garage! Then he said he would drill a hole in the middle of the puddle for the water to drain! How dumb is that? The water will just freeze and thaw under the slab and break it apart. He offered to redo that part of the driveway for the cost of materials, but not until the spring. Given all the other problems with the job, I told him I didn't want him screwing up anything else, and I gave him a choice: "Take $500 off of the $10,950 contract, or get a bad review on Angie's list." He didn't hesitate to choose the bad review. I gave him the balance of the contract amount and hope never to see him again. It's probably going to cost me another $2,000 to fix the ponding. Other problems with the job: ��� We signed the contract in the 3rd week of July when he said he would start work the middle of August. (I needed the job done before September.) Mid-August came and went. I kept calling him; he kept giving me excuses. He and his crew finally showed up on August 30, and finished on September 4. ��� He assured me that he would be on the job site to keep an eye on his crew. It's his job to manage them, not mine. But he was often absent. At one point I showed a crew member where I wanted an expansion joint, and he got testy with me, "Don't tell me how to do my job," he said. Excuse me, I'm paying almost $11,000 for this. I think I have a right to tell you where I want the joint. ��� The control joints for a 4-inch concrete pour should be at least 1-inch deep. He assured me, they would be. Guess what. No surprise, they're only 3/4 inch deep and even 1/2 inch in spots. Now, there is no guarantee that the concrete will crack along the joints like it is supposed to. In a few years, there will be random cracks and slabs of concrete pushed up from frozen water below. ��� Some of the control joints weren't cut long enough. ��� After the initial cure (about 4 - 8 hours) a seal coat is supposed to be applied to keep the moisture in the concrete from evaporating so that it can harden completely. (The longer concrete is wet, the harder it gets.) Ray showed up a day and a half after the pour and sprayed the sealer unevenly so that parts of the driveway are soaked in sealer and other parts have little or no sealer. This is going to lead to uneven curing which will lead to cracking. ��� The initial contract was for $8,950. After the old driveway was removed, he told me that he had measured incorrectly at 1350 sq ft, but the driveway was actually 1600 sq ft. I measured the job at 1550 sq ft. Fair enough. We added an extra $2000 to the contract. The guy can't even measure right. In general, if you want a poorly done job that's not going to last, and a long list of excuses and broken promises, Ray's your man.

    Real Help Decorative Concrete
    I contacted Josh (co-owner) of Real Help Decorative Concrete based on the excellent reviews here on Angie's List. I had my decorative concrete patio in the back yard for 10 years and I must admit I really was amiss in having it sealed on a regular basis. Hence, after 10 years of snow, ice and cleaning it myself every year, I was in need of it being recolored and resealed. Josh came out and explained the process, measured and we made a mutually agreeable appointment to have it recolored and resealed. He and his crew were on time and the job was done in one day for a very reasonable price. The workers were very friendly and very attentive to detail, handbrushing the sealant close to the house so no spray got on the siding or other areas that shouldn't be sealed and colored. I am very pleased with the job Josh and his crew did and will definitely have them back in a timely manner to reseal my patio on a regular basis. I highly recommend them. Thank you Real Help Decorative Concrete for a job well done!

    The project was only 95% percent completed in June of 2018. It took me 2 months and 10 different phone calls just to get them to agree that the project wasn't completed according to the design and was told they would come and correct it. It's now 11/20/18 and I just got off the phone with a snotty women who said she will have the owner contact me but she doesn't know when he will be back in the office. Such poor customer service.Will never use them again

    I had to have another wonderful company, Ortner, come out and fix Bartlett's Door Sales and Service, 954 Brighton Rd, Tona, NY, poor service. When the garage door kept going up every time I closed it, I contacted Bartlett. The person answering cut me off and said I need a unit. When I told him they just put it in, he said I damaged the sensors. I told him they were not damaged. The he said to get a jackhammer, bust up my concrete and level my driveway. (There is less than 1/8' difference from the left to right sides of the door.) He said there would be another charge to come out to adjust the door. When they installed the door on June 26, 2018, the serviceman sat in the company truck on his cellphone. When I asked why he was not helping his partner, he said the installer was new and had to get some experience. However, at the end of installation when the serviceman got up to help, it was obviously done incorrectly. When I called them to come out again, they said they would call Sat. by noon with an appt time for Mon Aug. 20. No response. It was a blessing Ortner came out (recommended by a neighbor.) They fixed Bartlett's errors: carriage crashing into head bracket; bracket mounted on incorrect side of door, broken (new) manual pull string, adjusted door so it closes the FIRST time AND is level to the floor without a gap. Ortner also installed a light bulb in the new unit, replaced the broken manual pull, cleaned the grease from where Bartlett wiped their hand on the door when they removed the chain (which also left a wide streak of grease on the front of white door.) Ortner also showed me how to maintain (lube) the door. Bartlett serviceman told me to read my manual when I asked. PLEASE be aware on the back of the receipt you get AFTER you pay the $85 fee (although the receipt says $46) it states: "3. WE DO NOT GUARUNTEE (they have it spelled wrong) THE SERVICES PERFORMED ON THE REVERSE SIDE."
