    BARTLETT DOOR SALES & SERVICE
    I had to have another wonderful company, Ortner, come out and fix Bartlett's Door Sales and Service, 954 Brighton Rd, Tona, NY, poor service. When the garage door kept going up every time I closed it, I contacted Bartlett. The person answering cut me off and said I need a unit. When I told him they just put it in, he said I damaged the sensors. I told him they were not damaged. The he said to get a jackhammer, bust up my concrete and level my driveway. (There is less than 1/8' difference from the left to right sides of the door.) He said there would be another charge to come out to adjust the door. When they installed the door on June 26, 2018, the serviceman sat in the company truck on his cellphone. When I asked why he was not helping his partner, he said the installer was new and had to get some experience. However, at the end of installation when the serviceman got up to help, it was obviously done incorrectly. When I called them to come out again, they said they would call Sat. by noon with an appt time for Mon Aug. 20. No response. It was a blessing Ortner came out (recommended by a neighbor.) They fixed Bartlett's errors: carriage crashing into head bracket; bracket mounted on incorrect side of door, broken (new) manual pull string, adjusted door so it closes the FIRST time AND is level to the floor without a gap. Ortner also installed a light bulb in the new unit, replaced the broken manual pull, cleaned the grease from where Bartlett wiped their hand on the door when they removed the chain (which also left a wide streak of grease on the front of white door.) Ortner also showed me how to maintain (lube) the door. Bartlett serviceman told me to read my manual when I asked. PLEASE be aware on the back of the receipt you get AFTER you pay the $85 fee (although the receipt says $46) it states: "3. WE DO NOT GUARUNTEE (they have it spelled wrong) THE SERVICES PERFORMED ON THE REVERSE SIDE."

    Zach was not transparent about his services or fees. He told the person he scheduled with that there would be no cost to the estimate, however, when speaking with the person on premise during his visit, he had charged a service fee for coming out. In addition, he did not state that he was performing work, he just initiated repairs without confirming a price. Although he was courteous and did successfully repair the garage door opener, his lack of transparency and communication was unprofessional.

    Unfortunately, the garage installer from the Kaz company was injured. He was not going to return to work for about 6 weeks. Therefore, rather than make me wait, they sent an installer from another company. He was professional and seemed to do a quality job. Had no problems related to the installation. I would recommend the Kaz company to others. Their price and warranty are very good.

    Was told new door would be installed in 3-4 weeks. Heard nothing at 3-week mark. Still heard nothing at 4-week mark, so I had to call them. Did not appreciate that they never called, forcing me to call them. Got no apology or explanation for the lack of a call, just - "We'll be there on Friday." New door looks good and installation appears to be quality job.

    Unfortunately I had to leave my mom's before Precision arrived. The guy told my mother he could fix it but that she really needed a new opener. My mother uses her garage about twice a month. Even if she did need a new opener she didn't need the high end one she was presented with. She's 82 years old and was alone with this transaction and Precision definitely took advantage of her.

    WONDERFUL!!!! He fixed the problem and serviced the whole door. He even replaced the bulbs in the garage door opener. He was here sooner than he said and was very professional and extremely polite. He replaced both springs and worked diligently to have the door work properly. It works better now than before he came. I would call him again and recommend him to anyone with garage door issues. A++++

One of the springs was actually broken causing my opener to strain while opening the door. Rob was excellent!
