Petar is one of the most honest and consistent painters I've had the pleasure of working with for the better part of 8 years. Even when extremely busy, he always seems to fit the job in. I would encourage anybody looking to have paint work done in their home to give Petar a call.

Obtained his number though a business card hanging on a post it board in local hardware store. Stated during the initial job walk through that he was a perfectionist and actually commented on prior work in the house and that would never happen with him "I'm a Perfectionist."  He was extremely helpful during initial walk though explaining all the work he could do for us (painting, hardwood installation, etc.) and tried to add extra jobs as we walked. He called promptly with a quote and we decided to hire him for painting projects and hard wood floor installation.  When he showed next he stated that we would need to pay up front in cash to become a priority on his schedule. We paid up front (BIG MISTAKE).  He arrived the next day and painted the garage. The end result was less that "perfect" with over spray in a variety of locations.  He was scheduled to come back the next day to continue the painting project.  We left him a note with specific information (taped to the paint cans) to reiterate our expectations and reminding him of paint colors.  We wanted the master bedroom grey and the 2nd bedroom light brown.  We came home that afternoon to see that the rooms were painted the opposite colors.  The ceilings were complete, but there were roller marks everywhere along cut in lines. The bathroom was complete, but it was not primed so the border could be seen.  A phone call was made to discuss and the response was less than professional -- in fact he blamed us for the colors being incorrect.  He did return the next day to repaint one (of the two) bedrooms and that was the last time he was seen or heard from.  He denied us a final walk through and did not honor he word that he some "touch up" work to complete and that he would be back. In addition, he was hired to install hard word floors.  We were left with hard wood and no one to install. We purchased the hardwood, based on his measurements and we ended up with $1000+  in extra, unnecessary wood. Looking back, we question if he was going to finish the job and keep the remaining hardwood (enough for a 12x12 room).  In summary, he promised a great product, undelivered, was unprofessional and we got scammed. The reason we are writing this review months later is because we gave him time to respond to a letter from our lawyer asking for a final walk though, He wouldn't reply... and small claims court is a waste of time we are told.

This is the third time I have used PV Painting and Decorating.  Petar did an excellent job.  That's the reason I keep on using his service.  He's reliable and punctual and gets the job done quickly and without supervision and his price is reasonable.  He's a good man.  Honest.  Dependable.  Excellent painter.
He's very busy.  I asked him to squeeze my job in at his convenience because it was a very small job.  He got the job done within two weeks of my contacting him.
    I highly recommend him.

I used PV Painting & Decorating (Petar Vukadin) last fall to paint the interior of a home I purchased last summer before I moved into that home.  At that time I was impressed with the quality of his work, his professionalism, his willingness to work with me, his flexibility, his willingness to do more than what's required, and his cost.  It only made sense for me to go with his services again to prepare my previous home for sale.

For this job, the house was last painted about 10 years ago with a variety of colors and techniques (sponge, feather, lots of yellows, blues, greens).  Also, one of the rooms had wallpaper in it.  The house is 2200 sq ft.  The house had been on the real estate market for about six months without any success.  Interviews with new real estate agents indicated it would show better if repainted in neutral colors.

I contacted Petar on or about January 22.  He was working nearby and that evening he and I met at the house so that he could do the estimate.  We again met on January 27 with my real estate agent and discussed color selections.  He did help with suggestions on color selection.  He brought along some samples of paint that I had in mind and demonstrated them on one of the walls in the house.

Petar took notes during our meeting and followed exactly what we discussed.  He contacted me and we discussed any changes to the plan.

Although he indicated he was busy, he fit me into his schedule immediately.  He started the job on January 29, while working another job and then worked full time at my house starting on January 31 upon completion of the other job.

The house was vacant with no furniture to move.

I felt comfortable with giving Petar a key to the house and allowing him free access to the building.  I did inform neighbors that he would be working long hours.

His preparation work is very good.  He removed all nails and hooks and patched holes.  He removed wall paper from the one room.  Upon completion of the job, all walls looked flawless.

Petar normally works by himself but did indicate that he had a helper while doing the preparation work.  However, the rest of the time, he painted by himself.

On the kitchen, we did not change the color but he did remove a border and matched existing color to paint a wall to cover over a striping technique that was used on that wall.  He matched the color exactly.

He is very neat and used drop cloths throughout the house while working.  There were no messes.  At the end of the job, he did a proper clean up, which included vacuuming carpets.

We had a little bit of scope creep because when we met to discuss colors, I added a few things to paint and also, Petar painted more than I intended because he tends to want to go the extra mile to make the job come out even better.  When questioned about additional cost for labor, his answer was that it only took a few minutes more to do it.  At the end of the job, he charged only more for paint.

Petar finished the job on February 6.  I think he works crazy long hours.  Since the house was vacant, he would work late into the evenings.  On a few days, he painted at one job in the morning and afternoon and then worked at my house into the night .

Overall, I continue to be impressed with PV Painting & Decorating.  I would recommend Petar highly for any painting job.

Petar was one of three vendors I contacted to paint my home.  He was the first one to estimate the job and the most reasonably priced.  He was prompt in setting up the appointment to do the estimate and provided his proposal to me quickly (within one day).  Although his price was the least and weighed on my decision, ultimately, I decided to go with his company because of the many favorable reviews I read on Angie's List.
Initially, he quoted to paint the kitchen and dining area, living room, three bedrooms, two hallways, six closets, and an interior wall in my garage (quote was $1500).  However, as I proceeded to do other work in the house, I decided to have him paint the interior back wall of built in kitchen cupboards, a ramp that I had built in the garage after his estimate but before he started the painting job, and also patch some significant holes in the walls created due to removal of cornices in the kitchen and living room areas and reconfiguration of one kitchen cupboard.  Petar's initial estimate was also based on two coats of paint in all areas (before I selected colors) but due to my selection of yellow based colors for some rooms, he needed to put an initial coat in one bedroom and the living room (he did warn me up front that yellow paint may not cover adequately in two coats.)   Because of the additional work, we agreed on additional costs for painting the ramp and painting back wall of kitchen cupboards before the start of the job and for the additional cost of a third coat when it was obvious that two coats was not covering adequately.  Petar completed the job on time and at a price that was still well below my other estimates, even with the additional work that I tasked him to do.
I observed that Petar works very hard.  He does work by himself currently and put in very long days to complete this job as promised.  He is very polite and a good man in a time when good men can be hard to find to do a job completely and to high standards.
Upon completion of the job, I am pleased how all the rooms look.  All patching was completed to my satisfaction.  Paint coverage is excellent.  The rooms look great.
I do have some additional work in progress at my home (modifications to a first floor laundry).  I do plan on having Petar come back to paint this room.  Although his schedule is tight, he promised he would work it in to his schedule when I call him.  And you know what, I do believe him because Petar is a man of his word.
