Quote was in line with two other vendors, I think a little bit more, but he did come down after requesting a discount for an Angie's List customer. We signed the contract in March without scheduling a date. I was waiting on getting my roof replaced. They were quick to schedule upon completion of the roof. On the day of the job, they did arrive on time. I gave them a walk through of the job site. We did walk through the basement and I showed them the areas to perform the job. They left the basement for after the attic. Attic job was done quickly. I do not know the quality of the work that was done. I know they talked about sealing electrical boxes and the plate. I did watch them blow in the insulation. I do not have ready access to the attic because it requires a ladder and the opening is difficult for me to get into. I think the job in the basement could have been executed better than they did. They did spray all of the rim joist 'bays' that are accessible. (I do have a concrete shelter in the basement that they could not access the bays above the concrete ceiling of the shelter.) However, I noticed that some to most of the bays did NOT receive adequate spray foam. In particular, I'm talking about the corner formed between the plate and the rim. In fact, what caught my attention at first was walking on my treadmill I happen to notice that I could see wood showing in one of the bays ... really.) So, I got my step stool out and checked all of the bays that I could see (even some that are hidden by drop down ceiling tiles) and saw that many (to most) are lacking foam in this corner. Contract said they were going to fill all of the bays to 2 inches. So, I'm not too happy. Perhaps if the workers had used a step stool or ladder to get to the proper height to apply the foam they would have sealed it better. Although the salesman did stop by on the day of the job, it was early well before the job was completed. I was surprised an owner did not stop by to check on the performance of his crew. In addition, no one has called me to check on how I felt the job went.
