    Summit Plumbing

This is the plumbing company you want in Douglas County and surrounding area. (I tried three other plumbing/heating/septic/well companies before I began working with Summit.)  Summit (mostly Mike..great guy, really knows his stuff!) came out about five or six times between June 2015 and Oct 2015.  My 2 coolers, heater, well, sinks, summarizing/winterizing all function properly without issue. Certainly going to have them on my next project, the septic tank.

The only issue I have with Summit is they were/are hard to get them out to my home.  With that said, my home is remote and the area experienced extreme weather in early summer...both factors beyond Summit's control.

Certainly impressed by this service provider.

    Reno Renovators

They pointed out several issues I didn't know I had.  That's invaluable.  They followed up with a respectful and understandable declination to do the job.  They also provided recommendations of more local service providers who are permitted to perform the work.

Duke's Plumbing Heating & Air Inc

I spoke to the same person in all three contacts.  In all conversations, I was constantly interrupted with statements of contradiction which resulted in never getting past the immediate service requirement, a cooling solution in one of my homes.  The initial contact statement began with "you don't want us, we're expensive" when I provided my address, and ended with "you can't afford us".

I have three properties, and three and a half homes, and will be soon contracting for a custom home on another parcel, all in Duke's service area.

I recently moved from San Jose to my primary residence that has a home and an unfinished home, which neither have safe and working heating or cooling.  The finished home also has leaks and missing fixtures.  This is my home while the other home on the property is finished and my new home is built.  Construction on the unfinished home stopped between electrical and plumbing. The tenant who lived on this property for many years when I bought the home, performed plumbing and HVAC services and although may have performed quality work, used low quality or used materials for repairs.  He converted the unfinished home into a shop, and removed fixtures in his departure. I travel a lot, so I require thermostatically controlled heating and cooling solutions.  I wanted Duke's to provide estimates on all this work in their scope.  I expected Duke's to charge me their hourly rate for estimates and charge me for their time spent on reviewing engineering drawings and permits if needed. I did not ask for free estimate.  However, it was assumed that I was asking free estimates, and was told estimates are not performed on all work.

I have a rental property, rent to own, in escrow, a mile away from my primary residence. This home has non working brand new heater which I will be responsible to have in working order.  I have a 2 1/2 bath rental property on the California side in Placer County, which needs a kitchen and the bathrooms remodeled.  Plumbing and HVAC will be sub contracted on the custom home.

I found Duke's rates competitive.  I must agree to a mechanics lien before daily work starts and pay at the end of the day.  My homes have clear titles.  I pay cash for them. Consequently, I'm not understanding Duke's position.

The first estimate appointment at my primary residence was no show and no call.  I called back and attempted to reschedule the appointment I was told they would have to call me back. I went to Duke's office with engineering documents and asked to talk to the boss.  I was told the boss was unavailable.  This was in the middle of the business day.

Public records state their are very low cost homes, on TREGID water, on small parcels not far from my primary home.  However records also show myself and my three immediate neighbors own 905 acres valued at $2.2 million with our own water rights causing special plumbing needs.  (One of us is building a jet airstrip.) A reasonable speed internet service that would facilitate service provider reviews on the internet, were not available in my area until very recently.

Duke's service team may provide high quality work and have a high degree of professionalism.

    Prinz Plumbing LLC
Joe Prinz of Prinz Plumbing is a PRINCE!  He was on time, knowlegeable and willing to explain in detail what he was doing and why.  He determined that the smell in the garage was propane (not dead animals in the crawl space as another contractor had said) and set about determining its source.  He found it, fixed it as well as all the other items.  I was impressed that his fixes were well thought out and designed to make replacing the current water heater (if necessary) easier for the next guy.  As long as it's me selecting a plumber, it will be Joe!

    Samantha's Handygal Services
    Samantha arrived on time.

She started with installing the bathroom sink and faucets first. This went very smoothly. She carefully positioned the sink so the hole for the sink in the counter did not show. The sink was a bit smaller than the hole. I ordered the sink myself and even though the advertised size of the sink matched the sink being replaced the hole in the counter top was larger than expected but Samantha worked with the sink and positioned it just right so that the sink was lined up with the other sink in the counter and no hole could be seen under the lip of the sink. The faucets work correctly and the caulking is very neat and not sloppy. She took time to clean any excess caulking.

Next was the enclosure for the air conditioning unit. The enclosure looks like part of the wall as it should. The wood cuts are straight and she used countersink screws for the wood. She also put weather stripping around the wood which now we can hardly hear the air conditioner working. Again, very tidy and neat job.

The third job was the tile work which she wanted to do last to devote the most time to. The angles of the corners were perfect. She maintained the grout lines from the pedestle onto the floor. Her cuts were straight. She paid alot of attention to detail. I have enclosed pictures to show off her detail in the tile.
