Sullivan Construction was very professional on the phone and agreed to look at the project right away.  This was jumping the gun on my part as the clients building and fire code consultant and is no way a reflection on Sullivan.  We plan to have Sullivan look at an bid on the project once we have approved plans in hand.  The project is located in San Martin CA, near Gilroy.

IF you have a fixer upper or a short sale in this area and you don't call Roman you are missing a great deal as he really did great at knowing where and what kind of problems we would have and getting specialists if needed. He pointed out a number of things that needed some preventive maintenance. Also we didn't have any downtime due to and quot;problemsand quot; that upset many remodels. Things tracked well and went in an orderly manner.

We saw an ad for Bath Planet and we went to their place of business to see what they had, as we were planning to remodel our home and put in a master bath. We fell in love with their product, and knew it was what we wanted. Whenever we would call or drop by the people there were so accommodating, and answered our questions. It was several months before our house would be ready for the Shower. About six weeks before we felt we would be ready, we went in and chose the color,  the design, and signed a contract, paying half of the cost at that time. They said they would call us when they would be ready to come and install the shower. Soon they had a date. Our house is about 2 1/2 hours away from the Bath Planet. The installer drove to our town and had the shower installed in one day. He began at 8:30 am and finished at 9 p.m. and then drove back. He did a beautiful job and we are very happy with how it looks. It is BEAUTIFUL!!! We paid the rest of our contract amount after the job was finished.

In 2 days we have 2 new bathing areas.  Day one began at 9:30 with a complete removal of the tub and shower in one of our bathrooms.  New plumbing, walls and a nice deep tub.  Wonderful young man, Lemoine, did all the work, finishing around 6:30.  The work areas were left spotless, much cleaner than before the project began.  We got lucky and due to a change in his schedule we were able to have the second room done the next day.  Much more complicated plumbing issues so it took a bit longer but Lemoine didn't rush it or take short cuts.  This room was also left in perfect order. The only minus in the whole process was that in order to get the discount from a home show program, we had to make a decision  immediately.  There is the cancellation option, but 2 hours or so is not exactly ideal for making major decisions.  While we are extremely happy with what we decided, we would have liked more time for making color and styling choices.  It was stressful for a time after we committed.

We weren't very happy with them. They had to re-grout the tile three times and when they sanded the hardwood floors they did not put plastic in the doorways, so we then had to get a housekeeper in here to get all of the dust off of all of my furniture and antiques. They hired somebody to come in and clean it, but the attitude of the woman was very bad and they did not do everything that they were supposed to do. They did not do all of the blinds which had dust all over them. They didn't do the top of the furniture that had dust all over them and when they were getting ready to leave they had not vacuumed the cloth furniture, so it was just really bad. The guy who came with the toilets put the old toilet in the bathtub and when he took it out there was a mess in the bathtub. When I went into the bathroom later on in the day he had not even turned the water on to rinse the bathtub out. They lost the ring to the garbage disposal and so they had to replace it. Our garbage disposal worked, but they had a little bit of an attitude about having to buy a new one. The drywall in the kitchen had to be redone, so it was done twice. It was something about the hardwood floors that we had to bring them back in because that wasn't done properly and even now where they refinished the hardwood floors you can see swipe marks from the rag. The stain went to the corners and it's very dark. We felt as a contractor that he should've overseen that and checked for quality. As a homeowner we're pretty watchful, but we thought there was a lot of things that he should have been there to check and make sure it was done properly as the contractor. This lasted from February into April and May. They still didn't finish and my house is still left unsatisfactory. Now I have to say that he did reduce some of the money, but I'm still left with something that's just not very satisfactory to us. We don't know how to fix it and he refused to fix it and just discounted the price. We ended up with a terrible job that he refuse to fix and blames on us. It was unbelievable. We have a part in the ceiling because they had to re-shoot the ceiling and the guy didn't feather it out so it blended down the hallway. He painted it, so now there's like a line of demarcation from the hallway into the kitchen that's obviously thicker and we think if he had sanded it out it would have blended. Now we have this big thick line from the kitchen into the hallway and it shouldn't be that way. I guess we got what we paid for and I would not recommend them. He really did start coming in with a little bit of an attitude and he wouldn't answer his phone a lot of times, but things were going on and people weren't showing up. He did not satisfy us because of all the attitude, the toilet in the tub thing, and the inconvenience of having to have the floor re-grouted three times. They wanted to even charge us for the super-duper grout instead of using regular grout and it was just crazy. I would not use them again.
