    Powerhouse Electric
Joe of Powerhouse Electric did a great job installing a ceiling fan in a new location. The fan works great and does not wobble at all. Overall I'm happy with his professionalism and hard work ethics. It took a little longer than expected to install the fan, but in the end it was well worth the wait. I would highly recommend hiring him for your electrical needs. I will be calling him for my future electrical services.

    Santa Fe Electric
I phoned Santa Fe Electric for help in installing a ballast for an LED/fluorescent light fixture. My call went to voice mail, and I left my name, phone number, and the kind of help that I needed. The voice mail recording said I WILL get back to you. That has not happened. I have heard nothing during the past week. I will not be contacting Santa Fe Electric for help in the future.

It was so nice to call and actually have someone answer the phone. We lucked out in timing as Ramon was just finishing a job and was in our neighborhood. He was at our house within 5 minutes! Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. We are new to the area and so happy to have found an electrician that we would call again when the need arises.

    Five Star Electric
The owner is responsive, but does not strive to provide high quality service. The two fans that were installed are very high-end, and the manufacturer pre-balances them at the factory. The owner installed the fans but would not take the time to check his work and balance the fans property. One fan was installed correctly (no wobble), but it made a clicking sound. The owner tinkered with it a bit and the noise disappeared. However, after the noise went away, the fan started to wobble when at first it did not. It worked beautifully and smoothly at first! The second fan always wobbled and the owner blamed the ceiling pitch, the fan manufacturer, etc. It makes no sense that the ceiling pitch is the problem if the first fan worked perfectly at first, and then did not (both fans are in the same room). Also, we had two fans installed in these locations for 10 years and they did not wobble! When the owner was here, we got the manufacturer on the phone and the owner did check one thing but would not take the time to check some of the other things the manufacturer suggested. After the owner left, we spoke with the fan manufacturer (again), and they sent a list of things to check to insure the fans operate properly. We emailed the information to the business owner and asked him to come back to our home at his convenience to finish the job, but he never responded. We were able to get him on the phone. He told us the problem was with our home and the fans. He won't come back to troubleshoot both fans that wobble unless we pay the same installation fee again ($250). We're going to call another installer who is accustomed to higher end fixtures and cares about doing higher quality work.

    Babcock Construction
The summer of 2018, we were extraordinarily fortunate to work with the 50-year-old, second generation Santa Fe firm of Babcock Construction known for their expertise in new construction and renovation. We had the benefit of all the Babcock principals of which there are three, the patriarch Joe, who founded the firm in 1968 and his two sons, Richard and Steve each with 45 and 40 years experience respectively. All three bring particular specialties, perspectives and gifts to any job. On the team were their long standing first rate sub-contractors: tile setter, electrician, plumber, painter plus their in house carpenters. Our expectations were high, since both of us have backgrounds in new construction, renovation and historic preservation. The job consisted of renovating our Tesuque, NM 3000 sq. adobe style stucco house with the work on the garden scheduled for next spring. The three qualities that were present throughout are on-time completion at every stage of the project and attention to a very high level of detail on all aspects of the job. Of equal importance on the job is their overarching belief in solutions, not problems, which dictated each days outcome throughout the two and a half months. Other qualities that the three brought were attentive listening and a high degree of collaboration with each other and the clients. This project was a complete success and a pleasurable collaboration also filled with moments of humor and kindness. We recommend them very highly for anything needed done on a house.

I am very happy. My call for an estimate was answered quickly and the work scheduled quickly too. I've had the light fixed 2 times already and it stopped working after a few days. Peter knew just what the problem was. Fast and right. Very fair prices. I highly recommend.

    Santa Fe Electric
Wired smoke alarms started going off erratically in early evening, sending dogs into a frenzy. Peter came out to fix on very short notice, saving everyone a sleepless night. I've used Santa Fe Electric several times before, and have been glad I did every time. He is a real asset to the area.

    MARCUS SCOTT PLUMBING & HEATIN
Terrible. I've had a 15-year relationship with Marc. He did all the plumbing when my house was built. We became friends of sort. He did a lot of work throughout the years. He was always impossible to contact, he would disappear for six months at a time, but because he knew my house and was an excellent plumber I put up with all the unprofessionalism. I would usually pay him cash and eventually the work would be completed. However, this solar job was expensive and I guess everyone has their price. I gave him $4,000 in cash to buy panels and other parts and I implicitly trusted him. But I guess $4,000 was enough for him to disappear forever. In the end Marcus Scott is a crook.

Original wall electrical box was not the kind to allow for a neat installation. They compensated as best they could but did not result in a very attractive wall outlet. However, it is safe, it works fine and after all, it is just a shop.
