    He responded, he was just rude when he got here.  He went to snake the drain, ran the snake through the pipe so he ended up busting it.  And then when he put it back together he didn’t tighten it so when I went to use the drain we had a huge mess.  When he got here he was rude and he and my husband got into it.  I called the next day to complain about it because we had used them once before and the guy was fantastic. Because we had called them in the middle of the night. And he came out and did a wonderful job.  That’s why we called them back a second time and the second time was horrible.  He was unprofessional and when I called to complain about it and tell them that we were unhappy with the service, the gentleman that I spoke to over the phone was just as rude and he basically told me that it was all my husband’s fault, that my husband was rude.  It was bad.

    They resolved the issue with a motor driven pipe snake. It wasn't clear if it was a clog or collapsed line, they offered to try the snake and said they'd only charge if it worked. The bathroom sink had an old corroded pipe that broke off. Not their fault, the pipe was obviously in need of replacement anyway. I told them I would try to get it replaced to save costs of labor and would gladly have them come back if it was too difficult. Even so I was told they would reduce the labor charge because of the pipe, they were very reasonable and very professional about it. I was expecting them at 8-9am, called at 9:30 to check and was informed they had an emergency call. They arrived just after 10. Would have appreciated a call from their office about the delay but it didn't effect my day so no rating loss. Overall extremely satisfied, would recommend and call again.

    There was a defect in a newly replaced faucet (replaced 3 months earlier by a handyman - NEVER use a handyman!) which caused the water to build up and overflow from the bathroom cabinet onto the floor, saturating all items stored there. Fortunately, I have a tile floor.  I don't use that bathroom and the leak went unnoticed for at least a week.  The plumbers from Fergies (one was in training) were quick to respond and assist me.  I am a senior lady and they purchased a known brand faucet for me at a lower price than the handyman charged me for a defective faucet!  Fergies installed it and repaired the damage to the joint.  The plumber explained everything to me as he went through the process and showed me where the defect in the faucet was and explained what the charges on the invoice represented.  This is a really fine company with excellent service and fair pricing.  The total time spent at my house was approximately 1.5 hours and the cost of the faucet was $80.00 (included in the price above).

    Five years earlier, Fergies replaced my commode in the master bath and I have not had a single problem since.  I will always use Fergies from now on.  Lesson learned!

    Redden Plumbing and Mechanical
    I live in a house that serviced by Redden Plumbing and Mechanical at the request of my landlord.
    1. The first visit consisted of drain pipe clog clearing and pipe maintenance under the kitchen sink that left the sink pipes damaged and leaking everywhere. Leaving water damage in the house and floor .
    2. The second visit was to unclog a drain pipe again and get an estimate on how much it would cost to repair the damaged kitchen sink pipes. The line was unclogged on the outside of the house but the estimate was not performed inside. Rude remarks were made about the sanitary conditions of my house. And when we inquired what they were talking about specifically, they refused to explain. The house I live in is old and in disrepair, partly due to the sloppy work of of one of Redden Plumbing and Mechanical's plumbers. But it is not unsanitary.
    I will not be using Redden Plumbing and Mechanical again.

    They came out, they took off the porcelain finish around the drain as they put a drain in to snake it out. I called them about this and they laughed and said "Your house is 70 years old, what did you expect? Read the disclaimer on the back, do you want me to read it for you?" Never use this company! This is costing me a brand new tub.

    They fixed the toilet that their workman unseated and told us that there would be no charge, then a week later, they sent us a bill saying they had changed their minds and were charging us $152.034.  I wrote them a letter explaining why we don't owe it.

    I printed an excerpt from the letter so people reading this can understand the whole situation.  They keep sending the bill with interest added on.  It is now $164.66.  This is for a bill I do not owe,

    I went to see them personally and spoke to a man who said he would take care of it, and I heard nothing else for a month.  Now, I just got another bill.

    I highly recommend that customers do not use this plumber because these people do not tell the truth about charges and will overcharge you and change their minds about how much you owe. I feel they cheat their customers and tell them untruths.  At least they did to me.



    On the first

    visit, The total repair took him 20 minutes.  He charged me over 180.00 dollars, and when I complained to your bookkeeper, she lowered the bill by around 40.00 dollars. I paid the full bill.  As it turned out later, the repair did not stop the leak in that either.  I later had to call a handyman who changed the leaky valve and stopped the original leak. So I had to pay him too.

    Now about

    the toilet:

    When your workman got here to fix the toilet, I questioned them about the payment and they said ?no charge.? When my husband asked them about that as well, they said ?no charge.? When they left I asked if I needed to sign anything and they said, "No. There is no charge."

     The toilet was not leaking when your workman came the first time and changed the water line. My husband was watching him work on the water line, and he saw the toilet move sideways when your workman squeezed between the toilet and the bathtub.

    After he left, I noticed that it was shaky when I sat on it. A few days later I noticed more water on the floor, and you could see that it was coming from under the toilet. I called a handyman to come and fix it because your rates were so high.He said he could fix it, but if it was moved by the plumber while he was working on something else, that the plumbing company should fix it. So I called you and explained the situation. You said you would send someone right out. And you did.

    After your workmen fixed the toilet and left, the floor was still very wet. I mopped it and waited for it to dry. But it did not. Upon close inspection, we discovered that the original valve that we asked your man to fix was still leaking.  That is when we called the handyman to fix the valve.

    Now, the bottom line to all of this is simple: when your workman came, the toilet was not leaking. When you?re workman left, the toilet was leaking.

     We have already paid you for the first visit in which your workman replaced a water line, but did not fix the valve which was the original problem.  We don?t feel that since your workman caused the toilet to leak by leaning/pushing against it, and that we were told there would be no charge to fix the damage, that we owe you for that. So please stop billing us for something we do not owe.
