Hearing Aid Service reviews in Rio Rancho

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • 01/21/14. Although I had called for an annual hearing exam and aid adjustment, Dr Ballachanda did not conduct hearing exam. He did adjust volume on aids and reset the communications feature. He didn't ask how the change affected my hearing. Told me to make another appointment for a hearing exam.
02/06/14. Carl Taylor conducted hearing exam. He could not run ?Hiss Test?. ?Not that Important?, he said. Carl showed me that my file was mostly empty and someone had removed all previous hearing exam results. He tried to adjust my Widex aids, but couldn?t run the software program. He called Widex cust svc for help, and learned that PC software at Premier was out of date. Carl couldn?t update it, had to ask sec?y to download & update. Carl still couldn?t run Widex software, called cust svc again for help. They could not set my aids as I wanted, with communication feature off and with Zen (tinnitus) feature on. Carl took no notes. He finally set communication feature on, Zen on and volume too high in left aid. Didn?t ask me about how change affected me. He wanted to know how long aids run before needing battery. (took 3 days.) Appt ran one hour overtime, with two customers sitting in waiting room.
02/20/14. I brought in copies of previous tests to copy into my file. Dr B tried to run Widex software to adjust aids. He also had problems and had to call Widex cust svc. He finally learned how to turn communication feature off. He could not turn Zen feature on, and could not set aids individually. He was able to turn left aid volume down to an acceptable level. Didn?t bother to look at my file of previous test results. He said that would learn how to run Widex software and call me for appt. He hasn't called for reappointment.
    UPDATE #1
03/17/14. Premier Hearing had a Widex rep meet with me at their ABQ office to teach them how to use Widex software. The rep first asked how I wanted my aids to be improved. When I mentioned the short 3-day battery life, he immediately offered to replace them with a new model at no charge. I left my aids and the rep trained Carl how to use their software. I've adjusted my low ratings upward. New aids are due in 2-3 weeks. Another update then.
    UPDATE #2
05/08/14. Hearing aids have been rebuilt at no charge, replacing electronics and speakers. After two minor tweaks by Dr B, they work 100% better than new. Batteries now last 8-9 days. Fit in ears is fine, the speaker units no longer fall out of my ear canals. New audiologist Michele Cannon is superb and provided good ideas for future replacements, when needed. I'd highly recommend her. I've adjusted my low ratings upward to reflect the improved operation.

  • I feel that they do a good job in selecting the hearing aids that I use and they are available when I need them. They have also opened a facility closer where I stay. I like the package they gave me and I just feel that they take good care of me. They managed to get everything covered by my insurance so it did not cost me anything. I cannot complain about the price at all.
