  • Who Not to Call with Plumbing Problems. . . . . . . Recently, my father had some plumbing issues with one of his bathrooms. We called a septic company to drain the septic, the bathroom seemed to work okay, but continued to occasionally back up. With the holidays approaching and family coming to visit, we needed this taken care of so we called Ken’s Plumbing & Heating Enterprises. We explained the problem and they sent out a technician. When the technician arrived, we immediately showed him the trap to the bathroom, which was slightly rusty. Instead of messing with the rusted trap, he proceeded to snake the toilet as well as snake through the roof. The total cost came out to $250.00. Unfortunately, the repair did not fix our problem and we continued to have issues with the bathroom. The morning of the 31st (1 day later), we called Ken’s Plumbing & Heating, again, and they told us that they do not warranty septic, drains, and/or their work. In addition, because it was New Year’s Eve, we would be charged a holiday charge (double pay) to have a technician out to re-service the repair they never fixed the first time. Since when has New Year’s Eve been considered a holiday? Anyhow, I explained to Ken’s Plumbing that we never told them it was a septic/drain issue, we called a plumber to take care of the problem and they didn’t. They stated that they probably could not get ahold of anyone. Basically, we were SOL. Our issue needed to be taken care of so we called Roto-Rooter. Roto-Rooter immediately came out fixed the problem and used the trap, which was pointed out to the other tech at Ken’s Plumbing but he disregarded. Not only did Roto-Rooter charge us less and warranted their work for 6 months, they fixed the problem the first time. My father is an elderly man and has many health issues. I feel that Ken’s Plumbing & Heating Enterprises came out, did not do their job, charged for the service, and then refused to come back out to correct what they were paid for. How can a company not warranty their work (I can understand if it was a month or even a week later, but a day)? Long story short, if you have ANY plumbing problems/needs call someone who warranties their work, who will do it right, and not be rude!!!!!

  • When I talked with him on the phone and explained I live  about 21 miles south of Albuquerque.  He indicated that  his company does not go out that way very often, but could do so for an additional fee. While on the phone, I also asked him for pricing on water heater inspection since it was the same age as the furnace.  He gave me a price, and so I added that service as well. We agreed on a time and he was punctual,  which was greatly appreciated.

He was personable, and appeared to be knowledgeable, and arrived with the proper equipment for the task at hand. He opened and inspected  the furnace unit.  He used a fiber optic camera so he could inspect inaccessible areas.   He found rust and corrosion inside, and showed me using his camera unit. He mentioned there was a small leak on the control valve which he detected with an electronic sniffer.  He offered me helpful suggestions and pricing  for an electrostatic air filter unit.  At the end, he recommended replacing the furnace and offered  pricing and a time table.  I  informed him I am interested in replacing the unit soon, but would like to check with a couple of other contractors to get comparative estimates.  But, I have no hesitation in using his services again.

With regards to the water heater,he drained the water heater and inspected it.  He recommended replacement at some time in the near future, and gave me a quote for that replacement as well.

  • Not well. Clog remained after service call and lid for septic tank was dropped into the tank and never retrieved. The technician who appeared for the service call said the pipe had collapsed. For an additional $500 (or $1000 if they did the digging) they would come and replace my pipes. I paid the tech $100.00 for his time and he said he would be back to retrieve the lid or replace it. I am still waiting. I dug with a shovel, banged on the pipes and loosened the clog and I was able to snake it out with a garden hose. I am a 54 year old woman and did what their equipment was unable to accomplish. The owner or office manager called to schedule a time for the $500 repair and said the tech didn't charge enough because he used his snake equipment. I said that the clog still remained and the lid was in the tank. I haven't heard back since.

  • The provider showed up on time and replaced the faucet probably within 10 minutes.  All went well and I would definitely use them again.

  • Badly. They could not provide an estimate after promising multiple times, to do so. I must have called at least 3 times to tell them I never got my estimate and each time, after apologizing profusely, they promised to get it to me the following week which never happened. Big waste of my time. These guys suck.

  • Joe's Plumbing showed up promptly on the day and time scheduled and replaced my furnace with a new one. New duct work was included and they also hauled away the old furnace.  Upon completion, they checked for gas leaks and found one on my old stove.  I had them turn the stove off so I could replace the stove at a later date.  They were very professional while doing their job and finished easily within one day.

  • Leak fixed by him right away so we then asked him to fix a very slow leak that was in the kitchen faucet handle. He was able to fix that leak pretty quickly too however a few days later the leak was back. We called and he came out same day to take a look and replaced parts in faucet with some he had on hand. Once again handle worked but once again it started leaking again within days. We called him again and again he was back right away but this time he suggested we order the parts for the faucet from the manufacturer and he'd come back out to replace those.
Ordering those parts is what did the trick, handle now leak free and Don did the additional work at no extra charge, even offering that if the manufacture parts didn't work to replace the whole faucet if it came down to that for a reduced rate. Despite that he did not ask for additional pay we gave a tip because we felt that Don had done the best he could with the universal parts he had on hand.
We will be replacing our bathroom faucets in the near future and we will use Don again when we do.

  • PHC did a great job. They were able to schedule me the day after I had called and left a message. The two men who came to my house were very courteous and professional. They worked fast, but took care in their work. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was satisfied with the job. Thanks, PHC! I will call you again!

  • I talked to Finch (how he prefers to be called) on the phone about the exterior heater, the old plumbing in the house and how I wanted to connect the two. He came over twice and gave everything a thorough look before coming up with an estimate. In the end, he said that the best route would be to replace nearly all of the old plumbing in the house - a mish-mash of copper and galvanized steel, badly installed and repaired over the years (and what stumped me originally). The gas line also needed to be up-sized to handle the load from the new heater.
The work took three solid days by Fitch and an assistant, including an unplanned extra day to replace the municipal feed into the house, which had corroded to the point that it broke off in his hand as he was trying to tie in the new plumbing.
In the end, Fitch did everything he said he would, showed up on time, stayed within the estimate (until the unexpected day's work), soldered clean welds, and explained in detail every step of the process. There is no question what he did is a great improvement over the plumbing that had been in the house. The only downside is the price, which, if you consider the whole house was essentially re-plumbed, is probably not so bad.
    Plus, he sings.
    Highly recommended.

  • Called on Monday after seeing Angie's Great Deal advertised.  He came out that same day to take a look, and gave me an estimate.  Returned on Wednesday to do the work, and was finished within a few hours.   Charge was less than I expected.   One of the faucets was covered by new stucco,  so a special effort was required to chip away the stucco without causing a big gap.  New  faucets work great and no more leaking & spraying.
