    Aragon Landscaping
Daniel Aragon took over 15k for work as a down payment , he hired workers who later came to our home to ask for payment, because they stated he told them we had not paid, therefore they did not get paid for the work they performed. Daniel made several excuses, so did his wife and shortly after stopped answering calls or messages and never completed the job and in reality completed about 1/4 of what he was conracted to do. Beware he is not licensed or bonded as he claims to be. Later was featured in the news for doing this to other people.

    Star Eagle Services Landscaping
He told me which supplier he uses and they have several locations, one of those was in Rio Rancho. I went there to see what materials they had to pick the gravel I wanted. He told me to call him when I decided what gravel I wanted him to use this was on February 27 he was doing the job. I told him what to pick of after making my selection. He showed up an hour after he said he would. The fabric underneath the gravel was already coming up through the gravel indicating that it was not anchored properly. Even after he laid it down, I wasn't sure why it didn't feel right when I walked on it. I went to the supplier and took a sample of what I told him to buy and took it to the unit to compare that with he laid down. It was clearly not the same and was not the right material. I took a sample of the gravel that he installed in the backyard to the supplier that he said he goes to. The people in the sales department told me they don't even carry the gravel that I had brought in. The sales department told me that they do not even have a Star Eagle Landscaping Services account. I e-mailed him to remove what he installed in the yard and replace it with the correct material. I never received a response from him. When it came time to pay him he did not want to give me an invoice with what he did and what he put down but I insisted on it. He finally emailed me an invoice the following day, and when I went and met him to pay for the services. He did not want me to put the check in the company name but personally make the check out to him. When I handed him the check I asked him if he did not have a business account. He told me that he was switching banks and that was the reason for having me write the check in his name. This made me think that this was not a legitimate company. I had also noticed when I checked my bank activity that he had cashed it at a bank branch and deposited it which also made me question if he had any account where he put the payment for any of his services.

    Jim's Tree Service
They did not finish the job. Specifically; they failed to return and finish the stump and grind it down as they had previously stated that they would do!! They also had asked me to prepay to have everything done and I am very glad, NOW, that I did not do that. I am very disappointed with Jim and his business "Ethics". He does not seem to care because he does not even return calls.

    Terry's Tree Service
It was a lot of money. It was expensive. But, we had another man come out and give us an estimate. He was going to be more expensive for what we wanted done. We had another man coming out. He was the cheapest of all but he didn't have the bucket truck which we felt we needed to go up high into the trees and cut the trees. So he was not going to be able to do what we needed to do. So we went with the cheaper of the two that could do what we wanted to do. He gave us a price for each step as we went along. He also cut the trees that were growing over the house. Everything was wood chipped. They ended up as little tiny pieces. They hauled everything away. Tree trunks that were too big to be put in the wood chipper were all cut up into removable logs and they hauled everything away. Because the big trees were growing all over the house he had to sub-contract a crane to come in. A big steel cable was tied around the tree trunks so that they would not fall on the house as he cut them with a chain saw. He had that for several hours. He paid for that out of the money we paid him. That man with that crane was not cheap. I don't know how much he paid. Terry is very careful. He is very good at what he does. He is an easy person to work with. He is friendly and he is competent at what he does. You can talk over what you want done. He will give you advises on what he thinks needs to be done or what he would do. We were very pleased with his work. We had him, his son and two or three people out here for approximately 40 hours worth of work.

    H/L Services Landscaping
With how poorly some of my experiences with landscapers and other service providers have been since I owned my house I was hoping for good, but not expecting what I got.  Mike White, the owner of H/L Services is a professional, in every sense of the word.  Lets start off with getting in touch.  The ad for the service on Angies List (AL) didn't state if he covered my area or not.  As Los Lunas is pretty distant from Rio Rancho, I contacted AL to find out if he serviced my area.  They said he did, but also gave me his name and number to call and confirm.  Mike got back to me within 36 hours and confirmed he could service my area.  Even better, he told me that he could do the work on the following Tuesday if I wanted as he would be in my area.  I purchased the deal, scheduled the date on AL, and he responded promptly that he'd be there.  He called 10 minutes before he was going to be there to let me know (my son showed him around and what we needed done), and was busy at work by the time I got home.  Mike parked his vehicles out of the way so I could get into my driveway, and even had orange cones next to the back of his trailer so no one could miss it.  I met Mike and his co-worker and they were both very friendly, open to discussion and general conversation, and were very professional the entire time.  While trimming my tree he gave me some advice on how I could better take care of it, and also answered all of my questions.  He didn't push any extra services on me, and was fantastic to work with.  I asked for some information on what else they do and he provided me with a brochure and gave me some ideas on what he's done that were similar to what I'm looking for.  Mike and his team is great, and I plan on using them again.

    Star Eagle Services Landscaping
My yard was in such bad shape I was embarrassed to call! Miguel worked around my schedule to provide a consultation. I cannot say enough about Miguel's professionalism and the high quality of his work. My yard is beautiful and my neighbors no longer hate me! I look forward to working with him again in the future.

    All Around The House Cleaning,Handyman&Landscaping
I arrived home after work to find my yard had been cleaned up alright. It as free of weeds as well as several plants and scrubs that it has taken me ten years to cultivate. Gordon and I did walk through prior and I assumed he was listening. Plants and scrubs that I have worked on for quite a while, only needed trimming, are now completely chopped down and all that is left are the stumps in the ground. Branches cut off of shrubs for no reason, my side yard is now void of any plant material. All my Iris are gone, ground cover gone - it is now just brown dirt. My favorite pine tree in my driveway - all the lower branches gone.
I thought I hired Gordon - come to find out from neighbors that he hired five people with chain saws and weed wackers and he was not supervising. Gordon didn't bother to advise me that he would not be and quot;minding the storeand quot;. Additionally, someone made decisions they had no business making without my input.
I've used Gordon and Jen on many occasion, but never again.

    Jim's Tree Service
They were expensive, but considering the dangerous work Jim and his crew did, I feel they deserve a high grade. Climbing up into 60 foot tall trees and cutting trunks as big as a man's chest is exceedingly dangerous, but Jim's crew did it all very professionally. They cleaned up all the branches afterward also. I cannot vouch for the crew he has now, but Jim's expertise with big trees is the best. I hope this helps others looking for tree service.

    Frank's Quality Landscaping
Frank came promptly when he said he would, to give an estimate of the work to be done. He arrived promptly on the day he was to do the work and accomplished everything he had agreed to do in a very timely manner.
