    Big Jack's Appliance Company Inc
I have Cross Country Home Warranty, they sent the Service Order to Big Jack's. I make an appt. and he comes on a Tuesday and resets the breaker and says he needs to order a part. I contact him a few days later to get a status and he says the part is on order. I contact him again a couple of days later and no response so I call CCHS to find out what's going on, they tell me he fixed the problem and closed the service order. They had to send a different service provider and had the problem fixed the same day. Not sure if CCHS paid Big Jack's for a job they didn't complete, I hope they are removed from any warranty companie's network.

Took days to get an appointment. Luckily, my washer was operable. Once here though, the repairman located the problem (a malfunctioning timer caused the operations [filling and agitating] to be out of sequence, and water was left in the tub at the end of one of the spin cycles) and handled it efficiently.

We have used Julio from Big Jacks many times over the years and must say that he is reliable, professional and always tries to do the right thing. The best part is that he is a local repairman, who lives in the community and is a small business owner. I've read some of the comments that others have made and you can easily see that those with negative comments think they are dealing with a huge company with many workers. Julio is the sole repairman which means he is responsible for all aspects of His Business. If you have never been in business, especially the service business where you deal with all sorts of people, you have no idea how difficult it can be. Now add to that the fact that he is doing repairs where anything can happen which may cause him to spend more time than he originally thought, thus possible making him late for his next appointment. People who expect him to drop everything on one job to run over to them are unrealistic. Anyway, he just fixed my old dryer today, he was in and out in 20 minutes and was able to bring the right part with him after just speaking to me on the phone, I think that's pretty good if you ask me.

    Balderas Expert Appliance Center
They took about a week to fix it without calling us to let us know why there was such a delay. When they brought back our dryer they brought back the WRONG ONE! Not only that, but they cashed our check immediately after! The buttons on the dryer were broken and they were NOT broken when they took the dryer. We called and spoke to the owner and he insists it's the same dryer and even went so far as to say those buttons are very delicate and break easy. Well don't you think that since they broke the buttons they should be responsible for fixing them? There was a Balderas sticker on the dryer that wasn't ours and there was red lint in the lint trap and we cleaned it before they picked it up. It is a completely different dryer. I will never do business with this company again! Their ethics are nowhere to be found! Consumer beware!

I called Julio from Big Jack's to repair my microwave/convection oven. He arrived at my home, did not remove the microwave from the built in cabinet. He tried to start it, saw that it didn't turn on and said I would be better off replacing it. He billed me for the service call and left.

Because of the unique size of the microwave, cabinet work and a new trim kit would be necessary if we were to order a new microwave/convection oven.  This would cost about $1000.  In hopes of another alternative, I contacted the manufacturer.  I texted Julio after speaking with the manufacturer and asked what parts would be necessary to do the repair.  He gave me a list of 5 parts.  The manufacturer quickly sent me the parts and I contacted Julio asking if he would install them.  He told me he was not available until nearly 3 weeks later.  I agreed to that date.  He never showed up.

Then I contacted another repair person who actually took the microwave apart and determined that the problem was the transformer.  The transformer was not on the list of parts Julio had given to me.  Because I had invested so much in both money and time with the new repair person, I requested a refund from Big Jack's.  He never responded.

Great. The repairman came out on a Saturday and evaluated the problem. He had to order the part. The part came in the next week and he came right back and replaced it and I didn't even have to call him. The washer has worked fine since.

    AAA Service Express
After the weekend when the machine had stopped, I called AAA Service Express (for the first time), left a voicemail asking whether he might be able to come by in a day or so. He called soon after, and we arranged for him to come by on Wednesday, I think it was. But then Jozsef called again a while later, telling me he could come by the house that same afternoon, after I got home from work. Jozsef is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. He quickly located the problem in the switch that interrupts the cycle when the door is raised, replaced the switch and a fuse, and the repair was done within an hour, late in the afternoon. The charge was $77, including $60 labor, which I thought was reasonable. And he gave enough time while I was writing him the check to share (after I'd asked) experience with various makes of appliances, and the qualities of newer versus older machines (washers, refrigerators). I'd hire him again with no hesitation.

Initially we called Joe for the refrigerator. On the phone we gave a brief description of the problem and he asked for the model information. When he arrived, we explained the details and he knew exactly what the problem was and immediately started work. He had the part needed and was done very quickly. After he was done we asked about the plumbing problem. He found a simpler solution than we had expected and had the problem corrected very quickly. All work was done efficiently with attention to detail.

Great! Technician diagnosed problem, had the part on his vehicle and made the repair. Then, due to water damage to the noise insulation pad, he said he would return the next evening to replace it after drying. He did exactly what he said he would do.

Joe is very pleasant, punctual, and had all the parts necessary to complete the repair. I called him this morning at 8:00 a.m. and he arrived at noon. The repairs were completed before 1:00 p.m. and he was on his way. This is the second time I've used AAA Service Express for dryer repairs (March 23, 2016, was the prior service call) and would use him again for any appliance repairs I need to have done. Joe is very pleasant to deal with.
