  • They usually have appointments schedule anytime that you want to go in.  They are very open to what you want.  They don?t rush you in and rush you out.  Sometimes they are a little bit pricey but they are competent to what you need.  You can get the same day appointment if needed.  We have really like them and we like all of the people there.   

    We usually wait to get seen.  We have insurance.

  • I've been going to Dr. Dan Dunn for eight years. Most of his staff were pretty good. They did a good job on setting up of the appointments. They basically took care of the billing. He's always easy to get in to see. He's always pretty punctual. I didn't have to wait for a long time to get there. He took care of me.

  • We had our appointment at 10:15 and got right in, the nurse has always been very friendly. The Dr. came into the office and talked about our daughter and her development. He disscused the vaccines and answered questions.

  • Was taken into an exam room within 5 minutes of appointment time and Dr. was in just a minute after. So nice not to wait. He listened to my concerns and I left with lots of informational printouts and 2 different samples. Staff is super friendly.

  • We checked in in the new reception area, which divides the waiting into two separate rooms with receptionists for each doctor. The television was playing Shrek 2, which my 4-year old loves and kept her entertained for the 15 minutes we were waiting to be called back. Nicole, Dr. Schaefer's nurse, called us back and measured my baby's temperature, weight, and size in her cubicle while talking with my chatter-box 4-year old, then took us to an exam room. After she finished settling us in the room, we waited approximately 5-10 minutes for Dr. Schaefer.
    Dr. Schaefer came in and greeted us by name. He had a laptop but he rarely looked at it, only to type in things I said or asked about. He already knew her stats from her last visit and was able to ask me questions based on what we discussed previously. He also listened to my concerns and addressed them. He played with my baby as well as answered my 4-year olds questions and comments before starting his official exam. He was very gentle while probing and examining my baby. He made sure she was comfortable the entire time. After his exam, he gave me some instructions and orders.
    Nicole came back in to give my daughter her shots. They try to reduce the total number of shots given at one time. Nicole was very quick. By the time my daughter realized that her leg hurt and started crying, Nicole had already given all the shots. They let me be in the room as long as I needed to calm both my daughters down. When we left, they gave stickers to both girls.

  • Every visit to Mesa Family practice is good. All of the staff that I have dealt with, from the front desk receptionists, to the medical assistants, to the doctors, and to the billing staff, have always been nothing but helpful and have always been courteous. Thank you for your consistent good work!

  • Dr. Dunn has a wonderful bedside manner. He is kind and forthright, something you don't see in a physician much these days. He is a no-nonsense guy who won't "sugar-coat" your care. I suspect that being ex-military has something to do with that. He will ask for your input and examine you, and expects you to be honest with him about your symptoms and complaints. If you are looking for a primary care physician who has many years of experience, then see Dr. Dunn. He will take his time to make sure he is giving you the proper care. However, he won't make you take frivilous tests that are costly. If he feels that it isn't important, he won't have you do it. He takes his profession seriously and will make sure you receive proper and timely care. His practice is large, so seeing him can be a wait, but not much of a wait. The longest I ever waited for an appointment was one week.

  • With the lack of Primary Care Physicians in the Four Corners area in New Mexico, this office definately takes advantage of the fact that they can, and will "fire" patients if the office staff is upset by a patient. I had inquired once about a $25 dollar charge due to a "missed appointment" which I did remember cancelling. When the front desk girl had told me I owed this amount and what it was for, I told her that I had cancelled it. I told her that I could understand charging for missed appointments if they gave reminder calls. She became irate at me and showed me the appointment book to show me how many calls they would have to make (20-25). When I told her that I had worked in Dr's offices for 15 years and each and everyday I called to remind patients for their appointments for the following day, she began crying and charged over to another office to "tell on me". While I was still waiting to go back, one of the back office girls came out and rudely informed me that I had no buisness telling them that they should give reminder calls and that they don't have time to do that. All of this in front of 3 other patients who were in the waiting room. When I was called in by the Dr I was "fired" as a patient for upsetting one of their staff.
