Electrician reviews in Clovis

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I had done some home modifications and afterward had some issues with a fixture.  They showed up earlier than expected and fixed a short that had caused the lights not to work properly.  Very courteous and quick.

  • Akers RV Park experienced intermittent electrical service to 5 RVs parked in the RV Park disrupting lighting and air conditioning. We needed prompt service to keep our customers.
We called several electricians at the beginning of the business day (8 am) in the Clovis, NM area.
Most would not respond today or did not do high work on utility poles to repair an intermittent electrical problem on top of the electrical poles servicing 5 RVs.
Most declined any work on utility poles or wanted to schedule for a later date.
American Electric of  Portales, NM sent an electrician out immediately, found the problem, and the electrical service  was restored before 12 noon on. the same day.
American Electric provided excellent, prompt, professional service.
I would not hesitate to hire them again.

  • We just paid the Lowe's installation fee. When they had an issue, they called their actual engineer and had him come out. So they took care of the problem without just pushing it off on to a different company. They were helpful and got the job done within their own business instead of delaying our project further. They took care of it themselves. They were very good. The pricing was pretty fair.

  • Called W.T. Denton on Friday.  They had someone here first thing Monday morning.  I explained to Matt my dealings with the previous electrician.
Previously, I had an electrician out for the same job.  He was from another company.  He correctly diagnosed a cracked fixture; but, stated parts were no longer available for this particular fixture.  He suggested I head to Lowe's to purchase a replacement 6" can that would not match the rest of my light fixtures.
After explained this to Matt, he just kind of shook his head.  He took a look at the light fixture and confirmed the light receptacle was cracked.  He jumped in his truck and was back in about a half an hour with the required parts.  My light fixture is fixed; and, it still matches the rest of the house.
    Highly recommend!!

  • Excellent.  Called on a Thursday evening and Garry was on my doorstep first thing the next morning.  First impression, very experienced and knowledgable.  He's ex-military and it shows.  Very up front, competent and professional.  He quickly diagnosed the source of the leaky tank which was an improper install by the previous plumber.  Moved over to the sink and removed a giant chunk of my roommate's hair (to my dismay).  Three bottles of Drain-o hadn't fixed this; but, Garry tackled t in about 2 minutes.  Then he returned to the toilet to address the flushing problem.  Diagnosed it as likely low water flow.  Changed the flapper valve and the toilet was off and running with no issues.  Highly recommend!

  • I bought my house a little over a year ago and I originally called Snider because I had lost partial power in my house, but no breaker switch had flipped. Also, I turned off the main breaker switch and not all the lights went off. Thirdly, I had a light that was stuck on and would not turn off unless you unscrewed the bulb. Lastly, many lights would flicker after being left on for extended periods regardless of the age of the bulb or the way it was screwed in to the socket.

I repeatedly tried to establish positive contact with Snider. The receptionist kept ensuring me they would call back to schedule a time to come out and look at my lights, but two weeks and approximately 4-5 phone calls later, I hadn't heard anything.

I ended up going with Dand T Electrical (recommended to me by my realtor); they came out that day and had everything fixed within three days.

  • I recommend them. I have used the larger companies in town and the result was awful. They did what I asked them to do. Their prices were reasonable. They were very honest and very personable. They just did a really good job.

  • Snyder Electronics was the only electrical service to promptly return phone calls, have estimate performed when scheduled, provide a very fair estimate and do what they said they would when they said they would to include having many service techs on site to get the job done fast. We called almost all the other electric companies and independents in the phone book, to include located in Portales, and they would rarely respond after our initial phone call for an estimate, and those that did respond didn't show up when scheduled to even provide a prompt estimate. Everything about Snyder Electronic's service was nothing less than outstanding professionalism. The lead tech was Fred, a former Navy Gunners Mate whom ensured his team was professional and prompt at all times.

  • Venture Electric in Stafford is OVERPRICED! My emergency service call cost $2,500. Labor was $200/hr for the tech and $100/hr for the helper. A one-day job on a Sunday cost me $1,800 total in labor alone. I feel taken advantage of, because it was a Sunday. I had to ask for an itemized bill, because their invoice didn't describe any of the charges...just $2,500, pay-up. This is unprofessional. My girlfriend called and asked about their hourly rates and was quoted a different price ($180 vs $200 per hour). According to this, we were over-charged $80. At this point, I feel better getting the truth out to the public about this place versus confronting them over $80. Paying $2,420 for this job isn't going to make me feel like I got a good deal. I got burned.
