    OK- So not ALL West Mesa's fault, BUT.
    They are now the contractor for Sears repair agreements for lawnmowers and the like.  I took my lawnmower in for service on 3/16 and was told "up to 2 weeks".  No problem with that.  

    When I called near the end of the period (I received no call), I was told just waiting for parts, but "any day now", tried the call a week later, and same thing.  A few days later was told 'They sent me the wrong parts". So another delay, another week, and it was "OK have the parts, just a few days" Then it REALLY went down hill.
    First they told me I had no Sears coverage, then they admitted they had entered the wrong model number into Sears system (because when I call Sears, "Of course you are covered".  Got that resolved.  An employee, said "all taken care of, the mower is repaired-you can pick it up".  So drove over, and was told "Nope, don't have it cleared through Sears- we aren't going to release the mower".  Knowing Sears would resolve, I said fine, charge me Sears part and mine (I had an oil change I'd pay for).  Basically ignored.  Called Sears, and they offered what help the could, and they called West mesa saying it would be taken care of and their was no problem

    Well-nope. Still had to wait another 4 days, during which time Sears kept me informed, voicemails and texts, but never heard one word from West Mesa.

    In each call to West Mesa, they claimed they had called me, but nothing ever showed on voicemail or caller ID.  I DID get mower back 6 1/2 weeks after taking it in. As far as the work goes, I am pleased with that.  But left me wondering the following
    1) IF they entered the model number incorrectly, why would Sears have sent out the wrong parts
    2) Then IF they entered the right model number, so the right parts came out, Sears would not have said - "we don't service that model or cover it
    3) Why so long to get the 'Wrong Parts", but so quick to get the right ones.  Were they even ordered first time? and if wrong model, entered Sears would have told them about the coverage issue THEN..
    4) When an employee said "all taken care of, the mower is repaired-you can pick it up", why would they not stand behind that.
    5) When Sears called them (while I was on the phone) and said "Yes definitely covered, just submit a PO", why would they not, as good CRM, release at that point.

    I just hope I will never need another small engine repair, or, if I do,  Sears has a servicing contract somewhere else.  West Mesa is 15 minutes from me, but I would rather drive across town to another service

    I would like to report the unscrupulous behavior of DAT rental company in Albuquerque, NM.  My wife went to them and brought our TORO lawn mower (two years old) for a spring ?tune up.?  They said ?no problem,? and proceeded to take a look at the mower.  They then said they put a compression tester on it and would not touch it since the compression tester reported the engine was about to fail.  They said it would be better to buy another mower since this one was ?shot? and was not worth repairing.  They offered a 10% discount to keep the mower with the purchase of another one.
    When my wife told me the news, I decided to call DAT and see what was going on with the mower.  By trade, I?m a Mechanical Engineer and it didn?t make sense that a pretty new mower?s engine would be dead even though it worked perfectly the previous summer.  I again got the same explanation given to my wife and I proceeded to ask them to explain it to me again.  They said the mower failed the compression testing and it was their policy not to work on or touch a mower that failed the compression testing since they did not want to be liable.  I told them I didn?t believe the mower?s
    engine could have been shot after such a short period and it didn?t make any sense.  I asked if they even tried to start it, and they said ?no.?   
    At that point, I told them to leave it there and I would pick it up.  I didn?t want to take their trade of buying a new mower.  When I picked it up, they said they had tried to start the mower and it was running great!  Surprise, surprise.  They said they must have had a faulty compression tester.  My feeling is they tried to get a ?free? mower to an unsuspecting customer and conceded when I came by to pick up the mower and let them know I was an engineer and what they
    had explained made no sense.  Needless to say DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DAT rental in Albuquerque, NM.  They will try and swindle you out of a mower!!!

    Mower runs fine now, no problems starting or running.  I cut my lawn when I got home.

    Aragon's has worked on this mower and my chain saw before and always done a good job.

    Everything went very well, they were very friendly and helpful in explaining how to the machine, and I really appreciate their patience, and how accommodating they were with me; they even offered to loan me equipment since they were backed up in scheduling.

    broken cable not replaced, said they couldn't find one and would keep looking. it's been 2 months still no cable. but i wasn't charged for that either.

    Good professional job performed quicker and at less cost than estimated. They also gave me some good advice by advising me that using gasoline with ethanol would destroy the rubber primer button that had to be replaced. They also had the non ethanol gasoline available for purchase.

    I took my almost new (used twice since purchased new) Toro gas lawn to the provider on August 28, 2013 because it would not start.  I was finally notified on September 30, 2013 that the mower had been repaired and was ready for pickup.  The explanation given for my starting problem was (1) there was no spark plug in the mower and (2) the carburetor needed cleaning.  I can believe that the carburetor may have required cleaning, but the missing spark plug is a total mystery to me.  I never removed the spark plug and I'm sure that the spark plug was in the mower when I left it at the provider.  I made this fact clear when I was contacted by the provider and again when I picked up the mower.  In addition to cleaning the carburetor, I was charged $5.25 for a new spark plug.  When I protested that I delivered the mower with a spark plug installed, I was informed that when the technician began to repair the mower, he discovered the absence of the spark plug and that is all they could tell me. Since I had been without the mower for over a month, I paid for the spark plug rather than continue the protest.
    I feel that the vendor was truthful about not finding a spark plug installed in the mower, but the missing spark plug occurred while the vendor had control of the mower.  I make this assertion since it would be absurd to believe that I would have taken a mower for the repair of a starting problem absent a spark plug. 
    This is speculation, but I believe that someone who worked at the vendor removed the spark plug to fix another mower since the plug is a special order item that is not stocked by the vendor and they never replaced it--sticking me with the cost of the plug  Nothing else makes sense to me.
    The mower is now starting OK and the price for labor is reasonable for cleaning a carburetor but repair time of over a month was excessive.  And I think that the spark plug issue would have been handled differently had the vendor been more customer oriented.  Bottom line is that I cannot recommend this vendor for lawn mower repair.  I will seek another repair shop should I need service in the future.

    I cannot fault the work, however. They seem to do a good job although what they do is not all that complex. But I have tried Sears and they take even longer and are a hassle to deal with and a couple other places that charge too much. So, I keep going back knowing what I'm getting.

    I brought my leaf blower to Kand S Service Center for repair. A helpful young man directed me to the right counter and joshed with me for a moment, (and quot;yes we can fix it for 300 dollarsand quot;.. much laughing) talked to the repair counter guy for a few and was told it would be cheaper to buy a new new one at Walmart. I asked the price for a new carburetor for it, and asked a few more questions. First young man suggested buying one of their electric ones, and I told him, no, that I needed a gas powered blower, so he, the counter guy, and myself, talked about some other blowers they had. Another man came in with his blower carburetor in hand, looking for a new one, and we all stopped and listened to him, and the owner of the business, talk about blower carbs. The man leaves, so I turn to ask the counter guy another question, and the owner came over, picked up my leaf blower off the counter, handed to me, and said, and quot;Goodbye. get out of the store.and quot; in a very ugly manner. I was taken aback and said, and quot;Whoa?and quot;. Then I said, and quot;I am sorry I interrupted your day guysand quot;....... as I was leaving. The owner yelled after me, and quot;I'm not paying these guys 14 dollars an hour to stand around and talk to you.and quot;
    I was the only customer in the store when I walked in. the two men I talked with were standing around when I walked in, and only one other customer came in while I was there, and he left quickly.
    This whole encounter was about 10 minutes.
    I have given Kand S my small engine repair business for several years, but never ever again.

    I took my 20 year old Sears gas powered rotary lawn mower in on 6/30/12. Estimate was $59.95 for labor plus parts and tax . Estimate for service to be completed was 5-10 working days. On 7/13/12, I received a call from a service rep that the mower was ready to be picked up and the total cost was $92.22. I picked it up 7/14/12, paid the bill, and a service rep helped put the mower in my car. I cut the grass the same day and the mower started up right away and is working fine. The cost was approximately $60 for labor, $26 for parts, shop supplies and environmental fees and $6 for tax. Everyone at the shop was very professional, helpful and able to answer questions.
