  • From start to finish, a very positive experience. Called them to get a quote on a tub to shower conversion and had an onsite visit from them in a day or two. Worked very closely with Eric Vigil to develop a setup that fit both our budget and needs. The initial estimate was that it would take 3 days to complete the job, but it was completed a day early. We are very pleased with the results and would certainly work with them again if the need arose.

  • While I was ill and unable to get myself to the places I needed to go, Scott provided transportation or ran errands for me. He also helped me around my home. I liked that his company did not have a minimum time requirement or contracts for ongoing services. I can schedule when I need help and not when I don't.

  • This is a beautiful facility and provided care within 24 hours of my call. They were the only facility able to provide such quick care over a holiday. Unfortunately , the caregivers were sub optimal. The first of two, was late 2 out of her 3 days. She lied about it. She did not show good judgement in our home. The second caregiver was better (could it get worse?). She provided average care. Told me that she could not get my husband's sock on...which she tried from a standing /bent over position. I sat on the floor and pulled his sock on. Due to her obesity, I question if she could get off the floor. The administrative staff was excellent and very receptive to my feedback. If I decide to use them we age, I would want to interview the caregivers and get lots of details about their experience

  • I've had to use HME because there are limited vendors available through my private medical insurance. Despite being a long-term client, they've sent medical supplies to the wrong address. Today I waited over 15 minutes before they finally answered the phone and took my order.

  • I cannot recommend recommend Dr. Kimberly Lavin and Peaceful Home Passings highly enough!! Dr. Lavin is an extremely competent professional. She is compassionate, respectful, and understanding with great insight and understanding of the difficulty of the situation. The entire process was carefully explained so we knew what to expect at each step. Dr. Lavin put Red Dog, and us, at ease with her kind demeanor, and gentleness and he was very relaxed even prior to when he was administered a sedative and we comforted him while while it took effect. She was extremely careful, caring, and sensitive to Red Dog when administering the sedative and ensuring it was totally effective prior to preparing and administering the euthanasia drug. Dr. Lavin monitored and reported events until he expired. Peaceful Home Passings and Dr. Lavin's attention to details made the loss of Red Dog and the disposition of his remains as respectful and compassionate as possible. I am very thankful that Dr. Lavin shares her professional expertise in dealing with this difficult time for families, for both the pet and owners. The cost was worth every penny many times over.

  • Both nurses who attended my father-Michelle and the weekend nurse-were extremely compassionate. They listened well and communicated with clarity any changes to his treatment. The chaplain was always available & kind; He even stayed an hour with my dad in his last days. Everyone I spoke with was excellent!

  • Nursing in the first two weeks was excellent as were all other services. Home Health Aide was consistently marvelous. Nursing in final week left much to be desired. At passing, a chaplain was requested. Nurse said she would send one, but never made sure that the social worker who she called to order the chaplain actually got the message. Patient passed on the weekend. It took three calls to the central number to get a nurse to respond to inform that patient was either in distress or dying. Official social worker never made contact with the family. (Temp social worker was excellent.) Complained to Pres which never apologized for less than stellar care.

  • Unable to contact. Listed phone number is "No longer in service". Link to website broken. Reverse address on for address obtained by googling Center for Prosthetic and Orthotic Design yields "No such address found" message. Probably out of business.

  • The caregiver who took care of her became family herself, she was a lifesaver to me who works full time and wasn't able to be there and we will remain friends the rest of our lives. Our hospice team was incredible, from the CNA, RN, Chaplain, Physician (who gave me his personal cell # in case I needed anything) and of course the Social Worker. The staff at the office handled everything just as they promised they would. It was a difficult time for my family but having this team was comforting and I hate to think of what it would have been like without them. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

  • I had a prescription for compression stockings.  I had called approximately three weeks earlier to confirm that my insurance would cover a second pair of stockings [I had purchased a previous pair from HME, so they had the prescription].  I was told that they would contact my insurance carrier and call me back.  I never heard back from them.
I called them on 12/9/15 and was told that it was taken care of and that I could pick up the stockings at their Osuna store on 12/10/15.  I went to the store on that date and was made to wait while they "checked with customer service."  After waiting about 20 minutes, someone came out and told me that I would need to "sign paperwork" and that there would be a charge for the 20% my insurance did not cover.  I explained that I did not owe any out of pocket costs, as I had reached my insurance's maximum out of pocket expense allowance for the year.  At that point they went and got their "insurance person" who did not know what any of this meant.
I was left alone in a small room for another 15 minutes or so, and finally the salesman came back and told me that the "insurance person" was on hold with my insurance company.  At this point I had been in their store an hour, all to pick up a pair of stockings.  I went ahead and paid the $9.43 that they wanted.  What irks me is that they will receive full payment from my insurance company, but I doubt that they will issue me a refund of my overpayment.
This is not the first bad experience I have had with HME.  I recently had two knees replaced.  Every time I have had to interact with this company the service has been poor, if not downright bad.  I called once and was passed back and forth between the store and their customer service center four times.  I have had their customer service reps be rude to me when I did not understand something they were telling me.
Their products are of good quality, but very overpriced.  However, the grief you will have to go through to purchase anything from them makes dealing with them not worth the time.
