Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Albuquerque

    Legendary Doors and More
The torsion spring on my garage door broke, and the door opener was on its last legs. I called David at Legendary Doors on a Thursday late afternoon and he was at my house first thing the next morning to take care of the spring and opener. David is among the most thorough, competent and conscientious professionals I have encountered. He was wonderful to deal with, both personally and professionally, and the work he did was outstanding. I highly recommend him for any garage door related issues you might have.

    Precision Garage Door
Recently, while my husband and I were out of the country, our house sitter had a problem with the key pad on our garage door. The remote still worked, and she wasnt locked out of the house, but she was worried. She decided to call a garage door company and have the door checked out. We had used Precision for some service in the past, but had not used them since 2013. However, Precision had put a sticker on our garage door opener, so she thought that she should call them. Precision came out and scared her. They said the cables were frayed, the drums were bad (they are the thing around which the cables are wound), and the brackets were ruined. They told her that these things had to be repaired right away to avert a disaster. Our house sitter told the service person that she was not the homeowner. He impressed on her that the door was extremely dangerous and should be repaired right away. She decided to authorize it. That was not a good decision. Precision charged $539 dollars for that repair, which our house sitter put on her credit card. After making the repair, to try and impress on us the bad condition of the frayed cables, the service person left everything he took off the garage except the key pad, which we suspect just needed a new battery. The replacement cost $98.00. When I got home, four days later, I had an estimate done by a different company for the work Precision did. Not only did the second company come up with a much lower price, $226, but they noted that the invoice Precision gave us misrepresented the drums that had been put on our doors. According to Precisions invoice, the drums were sized at 400/12 when they actually used 400/8. The difference is between a commercial drum meant to handle a large 12-foot door and an 8-foot door which is what ours was. They gave us the 400/8, but charged us for the 400/12s. Not only that, but the drums were in perfect condition and did not need to be replaced at all. On their invoice each drum was $120. All told, the things that did not need to be replaced, the two drums and the keypad, was $238 of the invoice price. I called Precision. First, I asked them why that had rushed to work on a home when they knew they werent dealing with the home owner. I said that the house sitter had no authority to do that repair. Precisions owner said, and I quote, he doesnt know who he is doing work for, it could be a child molester, but that is none of his business. He also told me that he didnt know why I was so upset about a minor repair. I dont consider a $539 repair minor, especially when I could have had it done for less than half. I asked him for his price list. He refused to give me one because he said his prices are his prices that he is under no obligation to reveal. I write this review to warn you about the customer service at this place and its dubious pricing. Use them at your own risk.

    Sears Garage Door Solutions
Angie's list should pay more attention to who they recommend. 8/17/19 secured a price for a garage door opener of $358. Three days later they call and say, sorry but an old add. New price $425. For all the advertisement that Angie's List does you have shown you complete worthlessness

    Precision Garage Door
A great experience overall. We went to Overhead door and the salesman was friendly but not very helpful and not eager for our business. Then we went to Precision and Gary dropped everything to help us out. We had a good idea of what we wanted and he helped us find exactly what we needed. The price you see may seem high, but this was a high end, insulated garage door. We got all new tracks, springs, seals, etc. Didn't try to sell us more than what we wanted and was happy to honor his Angie's List discount. Installation went very well except that the wrong hardware showed up, but the correct items were quickly reordered and installed with no hassle. Excellent customer service. We even saw Gary in our neighborhood a month later and he recognized us! I would highly recommend them!

    Overhead Door of Albuquerque
Patrick called in advance and arrived on schedule at my daughter's condo. I'm glad I repeated the correct address when he called, because the office staff gave him the wrong address. It only took him 20-25 minutes to complete the repair. Patrick also adjusted the chain and lubricated all the moving parts. I would hire this firm again.

    Precision Garage Door
Not only did the repairman (Tyler) show up earlier than seemed possible on this late Saturday afternoon, but within one hour he got the job completely done with a lifetime warrentee on the work and parts. He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and personable. That the company was able and willing to get the job done on short notice on a Saturday late afternoon was a huge relief and well done. He showed me all the worn and broken parts and made sure that the rest of the assembly worked efficiently and correctly...tightening or replacing plastic parts with better quality replacements all along the process. Worth the expense to get it done right! thanks PRECISION!

Adam, the repairman, came on time, knew exactly what to look for in his inspection, prescribed a tune-up and did the work on the spot. He was informative, courteous and professional. The entire experience with this company--from my initial call to set up an appointment to the completion of the work--took less than 24 hours. I recommend this company. (I used the Angie's List coupon for the inspection, so total price was approximately $15 less than without it.)

    A1 Guaranteed Garage Doors
The garage door spring broke in the evening (after hours). I left a message requesting a quote and possible time to come out. Call was returned in the morning, quote was given, and appointment was scheduled. Quote was for ~$165 based on the description I could give him, and he stuck with the quoted amount. Mike replaced the spring quickly and answered my questions along the way. I would recommend him, and would call him again.

    Overhead Door of Albuquerque
Patrick arrived within the original time envelope and called within 15 minutes of his arrival - as per their information. He cited the exact same price I was quoted over the phone ($226). He replaced both springs and checked over the remainder of the garage door hardware - finding three hinges that were cracked. While he quoted a price to replace these hinges, I decided to accomplish that task myself. Really a super job for the best price - cannot ask for more

    Overhead Door of Albuquerque
A nice young man (James I think) arrived on time, diagnosed the problem as a worn out gear and gave me my options. I elected to replace the gear and he got to work right away. He worked fast and made several other adjustments. I really enjoyed talking to him and everything works great. He was very polite and professional.
