Appliance Repair reviews in Albuquerque

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • He returned my call within 5 minutes, scheduled appointment for next day. His estimate was a little over half of other estimates. He came before the scheduled time, and charged the estimated amount. I will definitely call Harry the next time I need an appliance repair, if its something I can't do myself. Does not take credit cards at this time, only cash or check. Really nice guy.
    - Steve R.
  • I started by doing my own research to fix my problem. I identified the issue, bought a part, and replaced the part. It did not work for me so I called mr appliance. I was told there was a charge for diagnostic and if I chose to go through with the repair, the diagnostic was waived and only the cost of the repair. The tech arrived, I told him what the issue was and what I found in the manual. I expected him to perform the diagnostic as I was told, then offer me repair and tell me the price allowing me to choose if I wanted it done. What happened is that he spent about 90 minutes looking at his tablet and put the dishwasher into diagnostic mode to test the cycles. What I missed was the step of putting the dishwasher into diagnostic mode to clear the error code. Once he pressed the proper 2 button combo, the machine was in diagnostic mode and the error was cleared. This made my part work perfectly. He spent so much time "diagnosing" the issue, even though I told him what the issue is. He spent about 6 minutes actually doing any work on it, but he never told me he was gonna do it. I expected the report from his "diagnostics" along with the price and option to continue repair if I wanted to. But instead, I just got handed a bill. The dishwasher cost me $400 new, and the replacement part I found was $80, the tech said he part would have been $160. Now the part at 80 and the "repair" cost at 190, it is costing me $270 to fix a $400 machine. I feel that It is unfair that I was never given the choice like I was promised. Also, why did was the tech here almost 2 hours to do 6 minutes of work? Feels like milking the clock to justify the high price. I was caring for my infant son so I was a bit distracted, perhaps this was taken advantage of. I chose this place because the reviews were mostly positive, but I now regret it. Since the only step I missed while attempting to repair it myself was to put it in diagnostic mode to clear the error, I feel I have been grossly overcharged and taken advantage of as a customer. There is obviously no sense of business ethics or common courtesy. I called and spoke to the Rio Rancho franchise owner and he was not willing to help me, he was not even empathetic to my situation. Needless to say I am dissatisfied. BTW, the techs are supposed to wear booties so their shoes do not mark my floor. My tech walked all the way into the house and up to the machine before putting on the booties. When he had to go outside for something, he took off the booties at the machine and walked through the house again without the booties. He apparently only wore them for show.

  • Tim Marshall, owner, and appliance medic, did a wonderful job! He promptly diagnosed the problem with our washing machine and had it up and running a short time later. No more water on the floor!! Tim was punctual, efficient, and friendly. We highly recommend Marshall Appliance Repair. We will hire again when the need arises.
    - Celia N.
  • Work and repairs went very well. Tim not only did the work needed, but went above and beyond and serviced all the door seals too, just to make sure the machine would continue to operate as expected into the future. Would not hesitate to use this outfit again for appliance repair work.

  • Great experience and super service! The oven control panel had to be replaced; Tim checked to be sure it was getting power, then replaced the control panel and it works perfectly now! Also, I thought I needed a new icemaker in a 3-year old LG fridge, but Tim looked at it and realized that one of the arms that pushes out the ice cubes was bent over another arm. He straightened it out and that enabled it to recycle and start working again! So he saved me from replacing an expensive part. Tim proves that there are still reasonable and honest repair people out there. Thanks to Angie's List, I found a gem who will now be my go-to guy for all appliance repairs I need!

  • Joey arrived on time and was extremely courteous and helpful. He is a talented and very knowledgeable repairman and did a great job analyzing my washing machine to figure out the problem. He is very patient and thorough. He is in no hurry to get to the next customer. He took his time to figure out why my washing machine wouldn't agitate. I asked how much the part I needed would cost and he called his parts supplier right away and got a quote. He said he would return the next day to install the part after he picks it up from the distributor. I trust that he will let me know when he has the part and time to stop by. Joey is a 26-year Air Force veteran with experience working in airplane repair. He knows A LOT about home appliances, the companies that make them and how they operate. He is a fantastic find and I am happy to recommend his services to the next customer!

  • Our dryer stopped heating overnight. We called High Desert Appliance Repair and were able to get a technician in the same day which was a big relief. Our technician, Ray, was great. We didn't know it was the timer; we thought the dryer couldn't heat anymore. He did a temporary fix so we could use the dryer if need be. He determined what the problem was and was willing to return the next day to replace the timer but we had to let it go another day. The repairs were done in about 10 minutes and the dryer is working nicely now. We're very pleased with the service.

  • It took a week for the initial call. Then a part had to be ordered. Was told to call when we received the part. Got it a week later, called for installation. Another week. On the scheduled day they were to phone first but it would be between 8-12. Waited from before 8 but when checked the front door at 8:20 there was a “Sorry we missed you” note. Called immediately and was told the next appointment would be another 8 days. Ridiculous. On maintenance agreement

  • Have AHS ( Home Warranty) and my refrigerator stopped getting cold. Opened a ticket in the morning and he called me fast and was on site the same day. It turned out my fridge had a recall on a part. He got it working again (defrosted something) to keep it working for us while the new part shipped. One week later the part came in and he replaced it for me. A very good vendor, had the same issue under warranty from Whirlpool and the service was MUCH worse. Thanks AHS and RELIABLE APPLIANCE REPAIR

  • Marshall Repair quickly got me on their schedule on the same day I called requesting someone to fix my dryer which wasn't heating. He showed up on time with the necessary parts and the repair was completed within an hour. The bonus was when he showed me how to repair a handle on my microwave and helped me order the handle online - without any additional charge. Great service!
