  • Overall, was not impressed and will be looking to take my daughter elsewhere for her next check up. (Should point out that I have high expectations in general, and really loved the pediatrician / office where I used to take her).
    - The location is not particularly easy to find, and the road was a bit rough to get to the back of the complex where the dr's office is (this may have been compounded by all the snow on the ground from a recent storm though).
    - The waiting room was dark and the door was locked when we got there for a 2PM appointment. Thought I was at the wrong place, but this is because they are closed for lunch from 1-2. On the plus side, this means there was no wait to be seen at this time.
    - There is a separate waiting room for well children, but none for newborns (just a mental note when thinking ahead to the next kid). I also had to walk through the main waiting area to get to the well area, so maybe defeats the purpose. The toys in the main waiting area seemed a bit worn.
    - As I was filling out the new patient forms, I could overhear the staff at the main desk talking about test results for another patient.
    - I found it really odd how the nurse wanted to weigh the baby- to leave her shirt on, but take everything else (including diaper) off. Just seems less accurate than either a) taking everything off since you're practically there anyway or b) taking off everything but the diaper (which seems safer from and quot;accidentsand quot; and wouldn't fluctuate from appointment to appointment.
    - The height measurement also seemed less than efficient. In the past, I've seen the nurses hold her flat on the table and make a pen mark on the paper at the top of her head and at her toes (and then measure the length between the two marks afterwards). Here, the two nurses struggled with some apparatus that they both agreed doesn't work well and then laid her flat on the table while they tried to pull out a measuring tape alongside her. Just seemed harder than it needed to be, and probably less accurate given all the moving parts.
    - Met with Dr. and quot;Rudyand quot; Nilooban. On the positive side, I thought the amount of time he spent with us was good - after answering all my questions, he stayed a bit longer to make sure I didn't have any others. Unfortunately, most of his responses were turn-offs to my particular parenting style. Talking about sleep- he told me that he recommends after the first month, to let the baby cry it out (leave the baby to cry usually 20-30 minutes before the fall asleep on their own). Personally, would never let a baby that young cry it out.
    - When asking for tips on weaning, he told me I should leave her for a long weekend with someone like a relative, and by the end of it she'd be weaned. Thought this was horrible advice to just stop cold turkey, both for baby and for mom (especially since I have had problems with plugged ducts in the past). I also am currently dairy-free, but he did not seem too interested in that and suggested switching her to various lactaids instead of trying almond milk and quinoa milk that I was asking about.
    - She was given two shots at this check-up, which went fine. Was asked for a preference of where to give them (arms or thighs), which was nice to have the option, I think.
    - Had a short wait at the front desk to set up the next well visit.

  • I adore them and trust my kids' lives to them. I consider them as having saved my daughter. My doctor discovered right on the spot that she had pneumonia. He made all the arrangements and said she definitely had to go in the hospital for about five days and she was little, only about five. He always puts me at ease. My dermatologist told me my son had cancer but this pediatrician came into his office on his day off. He showed me pictures and reports and told me my son did not have a disease. He is great. They are accommodating as they can be and the staff is wonderful. They are moving offices. I have them through my insurance so the billing and administration is easy. The staff is very friendly and great with the kids. They know them and they are great all around.
