  • I am extremely satisfied with the price, service and installation of my windows and patio door. The salesman was very polite, knowledgeable and explained the process very well. The installers were totally thorough and fast! I can most certainly recommend Home Star Remodeling with confidence!

  • Our first meeting with Yakup Koksaldi, the President of t h e company, was very productive. We told him what we wanted and he sat there and drew up the plan exactly the way we wanted it to be. He was cool and professional and never once pressured us. He was honest and gave us good advice. We did an addition (23'x14'), with an A roof. They started work in June 2016 and completed the job by mid August 2016. The work was neatly done and up to code. From the foundation to the roof, the skylight, the energy efficient Windows, the heating system, laminate flooring, electrical system and light fixtures . Everything was done with great professionalism. The workers were polite and worked effortlessly. We are very pleased with the outcome of our addition. Since completing this job, we already had them come back to do a small project. We have recommended them to our friends because our friends just love our addition. We can't wait to start a new project with them. They are, certainly the best.

  • I called on 11/11/13 and received a response on the next day which was yesterday. spoke to front desk (bruce) who in turn let me speak to the owner. I informed him that I needed a front entry door as the  ad on Angie's List said he provided doors. His website said the same.  He wanted to know if it was a commercial or a residential property.  Salesperson came out with all of his books, looked at the door and said that because it has a steel door in at present , (was a residential property attached to a commercial, he would suggest another steel door). I informed him that he could put in a residential door, I just needed to replace the door, as to stop the draft that was coming in.
Salesman, Lonnie, informed me that the doors would be costly, as they did mostly windows. They had to order doors, not make them. At that point, I was a bit surprised, because I honestly thought that this was a company that made their own windows and doors.
I did get the impression though, that the problem may have been that they wanted to have me purchase a steel door instead of a residential door, because of what was already in. the door had a push bar, which my husband had installed when we purchased the property, because of the ease in which it made the door easier to exit. they - salesman and owner - wanted to know if the property was commercial and if the property had a tenant. So many questions for a door!??! Either way, the visit,  was an absolute waste of time. Had I known that they had to purchase doors from an outside vendor, thus adding to the cost, I wouldn't have even called them in the first place. thought they made windows and doors. Not . Wanted to use them, but couldn't reach a resolution....

  • I used 3 J's for some work in a house I was re-habbing to flip. They installed some windows, exterior doors and ceramic tile. The price was decent and they were fairly responsive. I wasn't real happy with the quality of the storm doors they provided, and there were some glitches. They installed a storm door backwards, but came back and installed a new one when I brought it to their attention. I had a problem when a crack developed in one of the windows they installed. They or their supplier dropped the ball on ordering a replacement sash, so it took forever to get it. I had to go pick-up the window and repair it myself as well, which they should have done. Overall I would consider my experience average. They were fine to use in a flip house. Would I use them to do work in my own

  • This was a nightmare.  I did everything I was suppose to do.  I got a contractor's name from Angies list, got his estimate along with two other contractor estimates (his was in the middle), checked his references, checked the Better Business Bureau and insisted on only 1/3 down,  I should have checked with the Consumer Reports agency also (his name was listed as poor work).  Be more proactive with checking on the work and don't be afraid to speak up if it doesn't look right (which I did, but, I should have been more insistent on some of the explanations).  Don't be afraid of being wrong with your questions,

  • Mr. Johnson provided a renovation outline that covered all of the upgrades needed to bring my bathroom into the future.

Because of some mold damage to the ceiling and walls, Mr. Johnson stripped the bathroom down to the studs, then hung moisture and mold resistant drywall. The bathroom was painted in two contrasting colors and it looks absolutely beautiful.

Also included in the quote on Angie’s List, was the installation of my vanity/sink, toilet, shower stall, and porcelain tile floor. He also painted and hung a new door at no extra charge. During the renovation, I made numerous changes to the installation of my accessories. Mr. Johnson was very helpful when I wasn’t sure about something that I wanted to do.

Mr. Johnson started the job, and either he or his assistants were at my home every day until it was completed. Jay (Mr. Johnson) is easy to work with and always very patient. I always felt that he was sincere about accommodating my requests. In fact, when he left today, I did not hesitate to mention that I had other renovation projects (kitchen and 2nd bath). I would hire this contractor again, and highly recommend him to others.

  • The work was not completed. I purchased the deal on October 14, 2012. There was some confusion as to whether he was to contact me or I was to contact him and I called him on October 20, 2012. We spoke and it was agreed that I would send him an email with the specifics of the work requested. I sent the email on October 21, 2012 and did not hear from him so I called again on November 5, 2012. We spoke again and he said he did not receive the email. We confirmed his email address and I forwarded the same email that day. I still have not heard from him.

Since writing the first review, I have been in communication with Mr. Odman. We resolved the communication issues and agreed to a scheduled date for the repairs. The repairs were completed today. The quality of work is excellent and although there were early communication problems, Mr. Odman has always been professional.

  • This process was extremely lengthy due to the time involved in getting inspections and payments from the insurance company. The initial damage occurred in February 2010, payment from the insurance company arrived in May 2010. Because it took so long for this to occur, we then, understandably, had to wait until the contractor had time in his schedule to accommodate us into his schedule. Overall, very pleased with this contractor and would use him again. He is a very personable and honest individual who takes pride in his work.
