AMagnolia Home Remodeling GroupWe worked with Chris from Magnolia on a second floor remodel and were extremely happy with the process and results. The reno included demolition, framing for new roofline and dormers, roof and gutters, siding, new master bathroom, master closet, laundry space, wood floor and stairs, doors, millwork, tiling, masonry for a chimney extension, windows, and central air system. Chris is a great guy, very easy to work with it, trustworthy, and responsive. He hires skilled subcontractors and kept the reno moving at a good pace. There were no surprises with either the budget or scope of work. Magnolia made our dreams come true with this reno and we would definitely recommend them for your job.- Beth H.

AArctic Air ConditioningIt went very well. Before my service guy Eric showed up, the company sent me his photo, advised they were following safe Covid practices and gave me an ETA for his arrival. Eric was very professional and he assessed that I needed a new thermocouple. Eric installed the thermocouple and had the furnace running again promptly. He also advised me that Arctic Air had a plumbing division when I was asking about replacing the hot water heater. He took the time to call the office about the cost of replacing my hot water heater and gave me a quote good for 6 months. Eric was very knowledgeable, welcomed my questions and he really impressed me. I had been looking for a trustworthy service and I feel I have found that in Arctic Air. AArctic Air ConditioningArctic Air was the installer of a new Lennox furnace and air-conditioner about 3.5 years ago. During the middle of a raging snowstorm the Lennox digital thermostat completely failed. The panel was dark and dead and the unit was completely inaccessible. The thermostat is customized for the Lennox equipment and any other manufacturer device is not compatible unless the equipment is rewired which also invalidates all warranties. I spent one very cold night until I could contact Arctic the next day. They responded within four hours of my call for service and the issue was resolved in under an hour. He was polite, respectful, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained to us what he was doing, what he discovered upon inspecting and assessing the heater and how he was going to correct the problem. FI was a customer for many years. Since ownership changed my recent experience has been terrible. I had a routine HVAC maintenance visit. It was discovered that I needed a new distribution tube and water valve. Instead of changing it on the spot, they told me that they had to come back because apparently they do not stock the truck with basic rudimentary HVAC items, then proceeded to charge me for the visit ($200) for changing my filter. We paid in good faith believing that on the return visit there would be no service charge. They told us that the first visit was a diagnostic visit. Really? When my wife called to question this, one of the service individuals raised his voice at her! Run from Great White because they will eat you alive!

AThey answered the call right away and were at my door within the hour. On the phone I described the problem and he told me what to do in the meantime to slow or stop the leak until he arrived. The work was clean and quick and solved the problem. He had a reasonable minimum charge for the service call and only charged me extra for the valve he had to replace. I will call him again next time I have a problem.

AThe service is super! They called to reconfirm my appointment and also offered an earlier slot and the chap was punctual and polite. He had covers for his shoes which he slipped on before he entered and he was diligent, quietly getting on with what needed to be done. They changed out the heating system about 2 years ago and replaced the outside extractor fan and did a super job. Highly recommended.

FWe recently had Joe out to repair a central air conditioning unit that he installed. He came out, figured out the issue and what part was needed. He did not have the part on his truck, nor the ‘universal’ part that we have now found out that almost all HVAC companies carry. At the end of the day, he wound up using a much larger size part than what was needed, in turn blowing the entire unit. After 3 days of coming out to look at it, he stated he ‘could not find the issue’, ‘needed time to think about it’, and walked away from the damage he caused. As it turns out, the entire unit needed to be replaced, which he knew, but didn’t want to own up to. Every contractor we had out after that, looked at it and immediately knew the unit was done. Joe still expected to be paid his service charge, and has not returned any phone calls or text messages sent to his cell phone to try and remedy a $6,000 issue that he caused! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. There are plenty of others in Rockland County that are far more reputable and own up to their mistakes.
