    WEATHER-TITE WATERPROOFING INC.
They arrived around 9:00 AM with trucks and all kinds of equipment, then went to work drilling trenches around the edges of my basement and installing filter fabric, gravel, and perforated PVC pipes. They were finished at about 1:00, and everything was done perfectly. Since then, I had sheet rock repaired and painted and then vinyl tile flooring installed. It's very reassuring to know that my "new" basement is protected by those French drains.

Work went extremely well. Fast Scheduling, and guys worked well. Removed an old sink from the basement as well, and scrubbed all walls / floors when done.
Since the work has been completed, the basement has been bone dry. Very happy and impressed with work performed. Will have them quote on finishing the basement as well early next year.

The estimator, DJ, came to my house and gave a straight-forward estimate.  There was no pressure sale or complicated explanation. Everything to be done was clearly listed on the estimate and later on the bill. There was a twenty percent down by check that we gave them the following week.  The crew headed by Ray arrived on time.  They were very polite and moved everything in the basement including our heavy washer and dryer.  They were careful with everything and respectful of the property .Part of the job required drilling down into the foundation and removing buckets of sand.  It was a messy job but it was done neatly.  They gave us a ballpark estimate of a six hour job  and came in at five and a half including clean up.  The jack hammer made a lot of noise and raised dust but they put up a plastic curtain on the basement door to block the dust. There was no dust or debris in the upper levels of the house.  They were neat painters and left no splashes anywhere.  When the job was done Ray called me in to inspect the work.  The only quibble I would have was the outside cleanup on the driveway could have been better but to be fair it was a wet day and perhaps the mud and sand was difficult to remove.
I've had lots of contractors and this company in their efficiency, politeness, and professionalism was one of the best.

I had an abandoned oil tank removed from under my driveway, which driveway runs along the chimney side foundation of my home.  It was a normal excavation with no problems.  The site was properly backfilled and patched with asphalt.  Subsequent to that job, every time there was a torrential flash-flood type downpour, my basement took on water.  I have owned my home for 12 years and never had a drop of water in my basement.  After many months of contacting numerous companies on a solution to the problem, including an interior drain solution and exterior waterproofing solutions, the tank removal company, and ultimately an engineer, I hired United Waterproofing to install a sump pump and french drain along 43 feet of the interior perimeter of my basement foundation.
I should also mention that I performed extensive research for several months before having any company dig up the basement floor of my 1928 home.  I wanted an exterior waterproofing solution, but it was discovered by an engineer that I hired that my chimney did not go through to the bottom of the footings so it would have been very costly as you can not dig under it.
Anyway, I dealt with Steve from United, who was incredibly responsive to all my questions and made the trip out to my home several times to go over many questions I had as I was extremely concerned about damage to my foundation.  I signed the contract and the date was set.  Permits were acquired by United and the workers came on time.  While no one wants this kind of work done to their home, if it had to be done (and it had to) I was glad it was done by United. They came in and covered the walls, floor, and furnishings with plastic, jack hammered up the floor (not as noisy as I thought it would be), installed pipes, gravel and filter fabric, drain board, etc., installed the sump and were cleaned up and gone all in one day.
It's been 9 months and the system is working flawlessly.  There were a few good companies that I was considering for this work.  I researched online for months the proper procedures for french drain installation and United checked off all the concern items on my list AND could perform the work in a single day.
I would not hesitate to recommend them as an outstanding company for basement waterproofing.

The initial install seemed to go fine and they were punctual and cleaned up after themselves.  We thought the problem was fixed.  A rain overflow from a storm caused another flood in part of the basement, including the center of the basement.  The salesman came in and said these things happen and their drain system was ok.  We protested and another service rep came and said the peripheral system did what it was supposed to do.  We kept protesting and once we reached the President who center another rep.  This time he realized that the center drain was not put in correctly.  He had workers install a new path to the center drain and we feel much better with the outcome

Was a little nervous going with a company (thought I might have better luck with a local contractor), but ultimately decided to go with Quality First based on price, availability and solutions offered.  Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work and care that the Quality First team demonstrated.  They delivered as promised in the estimate.  Highly recommend.

All went well, installation went OK except for misplacement of sump pump drain pipes to the street.

The sumps worked fine for a year, only running occasionally.  When Hurricane Irene hit, the power went out and the battery backups failed to kick in.  We had a generator and were able to avoid any problems.   Batteries read 'fully charged' at all times so we suspect they were not proerly connected.  Service is scheduled from the supplier on Oct 3, 2011.

The experience was just fine. They were very prompt and did what I had expected. There were no problems or complications. The only surprise that I was not thrilled with is that I was told after installation was that I might have to manually prime the pump, which involves sucking on a straw. I have not had to do that yet. We have had some big storms, and it appears to be working fine.
