Pediatric Care reviews in Westfield

They are very accessible in terms of getting my children in if they are sick. The doctors themselves are laid back and are happy to explain things. When I request that they fill out the Universal Health Records they are quick to fill it out and attach an easily understood medical record that they have prepared. I would and have recommended them to friends.

It was easy to get a Sunday appointment (I wish I could say that about all doctors). We weren't sure what the scary looking skin condition was, but it went away a few days after the visit. We use this doctor's office for all three kids. Big improvement from another local provider. Nice, competent doctors in a good location.

The office staff was harried and offered no sense of welcoming as new patients. Dr. Panza seemed uninterested in my children as new patients. He had a poor bedside manner and left my children and myself completely unconvinced that he cared that we were even there. Found another pediatrician in town. When I wanted to transfer my measly records, they wanted to charge me $25 per child for a page of records that only had flu shots.

It went well.  The doctor and nurse were competent and friendly.  We did have to wait a little while for the doctor but it was a Monday morning when lots of kids come in to the doctor's office.  I appreciated that the doctor had a sense of humor with my son.  She also identified a health issue which she referred us on to a specialist for.

We called this morning to stop in for an unplanned exam. It didn't look serious so he gave us some treatments and advice on when to alert him if things got worse. We have been using Dr. Han (Cornerstone) for both our children for the past 8 years. He has a great bedside manner and very patient with kids and parents. The offices are modern and clean. Very kid friendly with lots of toys, books and posters. My kids love going there. (as much as one can for a doctor). He is direct and honest and never gave us grief for the 3AM call.
Very up to date with current trends and news. His office is very digital so he keeps electronic records and has always used modern tools to track all the medical information about our children which impresses me. These days, things change so quickly, I think doctors need to keep with technology.
Its a solo practice so you have to be comfortable that its not a large practice with redundant doctors. When he is unavaiable, he does have a referral service to other doctors. Its more old-school that way but the plus side is the personalized service. He is the only doctor for your children and will know them very well for years to come. We've referred him to our friends and family.

We have been going for years but it just depends on the doctor we see since some of the doctors are very good and some of them are not. We saw a nurse practitioner this time. The pediatrician that we have been going to for years is Dr. Pauline Thomas and she is very good, but there was someone in her office and so we saw a nurse practitioner. So, it just depends on who we see there. I just fired one doctor that I had for six years because he didn't know who I was, and I had to go to another place altogether. It might have worked out if I had been able to choose another doctor within that group. They do not take a lot of the insurance and they didn't take our insurance, but we are with them because we have a relationship with the pediatrician. The staff is excellent. They have a hotline that we can call if we have a kid and he is sick and we want to see the doctor. It depends on the doctor in terms of the bedside manner, and that is why I left my doctor because he didn't have a decent bedside manner. Most of the doctors are quite good. The doctor I had was actually an exception and most of the people are warm and friendly and have good bedside manners. There was no problem with his medical ability but the human aspect was lacking. Most of them are stellar. There is no problem with the billing.

She was thorough and explained everything she was about to do to allay any nervousness with my 5-year-old (and she spoke to her like a regular patient, didn't talk down to her or at her) as well as to communicate with me what she was looking for and what may change, what is normal/typical, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to see her should our regular pediatrician be unavailable, but both are super with the kids.

One thing I don't like about this office is that the reception desk is not just for pediatrics, but for all the medical practices for Summit Medical Group. You often have to wait in line for a while to see the receptionist as others for other offices also check in at the same spot. Kind of a time sapper. Otherwise, very accommodating staff.

In one particular incident that left me very pleased with the practice, our son ran a very high fever and ultimately was hospitalized. When his fever spiked, it was after hours; however, they have a 24-hr nurse call center that immediately got in touch with the on-call doctor who return our call within 5 minutes. The doctor talked us through the situation and advised that we go to the hospital emergency room. The doctor then called ahead to the hospital to notify the attending physician and provide them with personalized instructions. Ultimately, everything worked out well, but as new parents we were clueless and tremendously emotional. We were so grateful that the practice was available after hours with the full ability to address our needs in such a way that made the situation manageable. It's a very comforting feeling to know that level of support is always available.

My pediatrician is great. She will call you with results or to discuss a problem. She is very knowledgeable and willing to discuss options. She is good with giving referrals. Her nurses are also very helpful.

Nurses and staff are very helpful when you call with a problem/question. Doctors are dedicated and knowledgeable. Gave a Fair (C) grade for "responsiveness" because it is often difficult to get an appointment with a specific doctor for illness, even within a week or two.
