Called to fix a problem with a leaking kitchen sink.  Plumber came over and basically gave me advice on how I could save money instead of trying to sell me a new faucet.  I thought I needed to replace the faucet right away, but he tweaked the one I had to stop the leak, so there was no need to replace it.   I will use them again.

    CMP Home Remodeling
I contacted CMP to give me an estimate for a bathroom remodel. Brian was prompt to respond and set an appointment. Him and his crew took measurements and went over every detail of the project, answering all my questions. Scheduled and started on time. Demoed powder room to bare studs and floors. Ran new plumbing to add shower. Ran new electric for GFI outlets. Installed new toilet, shower and vanity. Installed new tile in shower and floors. New sheetrock and paint. Finished on time. Thank you!

We had no heat over weekend.  Called first thing Monday and morning and they had somebody out within a few hours.  Tech quickly accessed problem and fixed it.  Very short visit and the heater is now, thankfully, running properly.  Tech was extremely pleasant and professional.  Rep answering the phone is excedingly nice and very helpful.
The responsiveness, friendliness, and professionalism would make me recommend this company to everyone.

    MasterTech Environmental
I have had the pleasure of working with Tom Duff and Mastertech Environmental on two separate occasions.  While away from home in late 2012 the ice maker hose of my refrigerator leaked for 3 days.  Unfortunately a river formed which then ran through my kitchen, under my stairs, through my coat closet and into the ground floor bathroom of my two story condo.  I removed all visible water to the best of my ability and contacted my home owner’s insurance company to advise them of the situation.  Unfortunately I am just an ignorant home owner and my insurance company gave me no form of guidance; shortly after the occurrence mold started to develop throughout my ground floor.  Long story short, the kitchen, stairs, closet and bathroom of my ground floor had to be gutted of all flooring, carpet, sheetrock and cabinets.  Mastertech was my first contact (per guidance from the plumber) for mitigation/remediation but due to the amount of the estimate I asked two other companies to come out and give me their cost as well.  Mastertech was a little higher in price but I ultimately decided to go with them/Tom for two reasons.  From the moment Tom and his crew walked into my house they were considerate and professional.  After assessing the damage to my home Tom offered to walk next door to my adjoining neighbor’s house (very sweet lady) and check for moisture as regrettably some of the water leaked into her condo as well.  Tom was the only person out of the three people who came out who offered to check on my neighbor AND the other two companies did not realize the extent of the damage to my home as Tom did.  When all was said and done I was able to come home to a beautiful new kitchen, floors and walls with paint that matched the paint on my unharmed walls perfectly.  I was VERY happy with the end product and service I received from Mastertech.  My second occurrence was more recent.  I came home from work the Tuesday before Labor Day to find that my hot water heater (located on the second floor) had leaked through the floor and then ceiling of my first floor bathroom.  I called Tom immediately and he came out the very next morning.  He told me I was lucky as the damage was minimal but advised me that dry out was required immediately to avoid any occurrence of mold.  From the time he left to my call placed later that afternoon he had become booked solid.  I was forced to go with a different company for the mitigation because time was of the essence.  After the ceiling and wall was ripped out and a day long dehumidification occurred the unnamed contractor advised me that mold had already developed due to a slow leak that had started over two months ago.  After handing him a check for cash (because I could not file a second claim through my insurance company for fear of being dropped) this unnamed contractor offered to handle the mold remediation at a “discounted” cost (because again, I was paying cash).  To my dismay I received an email the next morning advising me that he had to rethink and raise his previous offer for the remediation.  As I was very uncomfortable with this contractor and the way he handled the situation (not to mention the fact that I felt I was getting the run around by a fast talker) I called Tom and asked if he could please help me out.  He told me again that he was booked solid but one of his workers offered to bail me out.  Tom and a very nice kid by the name of Stu came to my house on LABOR DAY of all days (as that was the only time available) to get rid of the mold that had formed.  Mastertech is definitely the way to go and will always be my first and only contact!

Went very well, called on Tuesday and left a message for a call back.  Chuck called at 7:20 am the next morning, he quoted price  and asked if it would be possible for them to come over this morning.  About and hour later I had 2 guys over to fix the shower, they were on time, professional and knocked the job out in about 45 minutes.  I would use Archie's again and recommend.

Used coupon from Angie's List site for $20 - otherwise price would have been $20 plus tax higher.
Waited 4 days for appointment - called Thursday late morning; 1st available was Monday between 8:30-11AM. Showed at 8:30AM. That was about all the good I can say. $45 fee for LOOKING at the job due if they did not get the work.
Polite service person. Looked at job and quoted a price. Did the job, got drain line open to clear standing water, but claimed he could NOT clear the line with the "most" powerful line cleaning machine made. Same size machine YOU can rent at home improvement store.
Suggested NEXT thing should be "the camera line inspection" for either $295 or $395. That would show what is in the line. But in his experience, he believes with the age of the sewer line (21 year old sewer line about 35 feet long from house to city cleanout connections) that the black ABS pipe was either broken or separated. Recommended that I dig up and repair the line starting at $1800 plue tax. Backhole needed.
Said I would think about it as property is empty. Asked him what I owed him and I said I had a $20 coupon from Angie's List. Now the price is $80 HIGHER. Told him that was NOT the price he quoted and he inisted I WAS MISTAKEN. AS I did not have it in writing and did not have a 2nd person who withnessed offer, I was stuck paying more.
Then he writes up the invoice and askes me to sign in 2 places. First place is the BOXED area on his form, saying that he had permission to GO AHEAD and do the work at the QUOTED RATE. WAIT!!! This is where I was supposed to sign and agree to his offered price ==> the form he did NOT fill out before he did the work. I BOLDLY print, "N/A as this was not done before he did the work" and did NOT sign it.  I  sign 2nd and lower part of form, saying he did the work. I paid him WHAT he modified his original verbal offer to the higher price.
I will never use these people again.
Get it totally in writing from any of these "can't quote the job til we inspect sewer" people.  Every person I called quoted at SHOW up  and look price. He quoted his "STANDARD LINE CLEAN CHARGE of $119.95" as soon as he arrived and looked at the very short distance from house to city cleanout. What a crock of crap --- that is my final word on Action Plumbling!
I will get a written quote ALWAYS in the FUTURE from any service person FIRST.

One plumber came out and gave an estimate on all the work that was needed.  I was pleased that they were able to schedule a time to do the work quite quickly.  Two plumbers arrived on the work day.  They went right to work doing the jobs they were specialized in doing.  Everything went well; however, when they left the toilet was leaking from the valve.  This was because they forgot to turn the valve on or off (?).  When I called Archie and told him of the problem, he got right to it.  The two plumbers arrived back prompto, were apologetic, and fixed the problem.  Overall, it went well.  I feel it was "A" work and treatment of customer.  About a month later, the kitchen faucet started to leak again ... not as bad.  It may not be repairable, but I would have liked the repair to last longer.
Cost:  The cost of the faucets seemed high; however, I was able to get some advice and it seems to be the going price.

Archie's  Plumbing  gave me the estimate. Chuck was very thorough with the details. This was not a full remodel . I chose to do the demo and the electric. I booked the time for the installation of the fixtures and things went smoothly. Chuck was accomodating  with the scheduling of  work. I would recommend Archie's. The floor looks great and the fixtures are updated and the bathroom is much more functional.
