  • Smooth...Squirrels had invaded the ceiling above the suspended ceiling and it was a mess. They just continued to do the job and didn't charge us any extra money even though it caused them to complete the project and extra few hours another day...Then they gave my mom a senior discount which we didn't expect...Very happy with their service...

  • I contacted several contractors from Angie’s List to provide me with a quote for a finished basement. After vetting the potential contractors, I decided on Hummel Construction. I chose Curt Hummel because I was impressed with his knowledge of the specific work needed to be done and he brought his electrician with him to further vet the required work. That impressed me as this helped to ensure an accurate quote. Curt’s expertise and professionalism was evident from day one. When I questioned him on doing a drop ceiling instead of Sheetrock and told him that the other quotes that I received were competitive, he gave me the options and respected my decision if I chose to use a competitor. This impressed me as I knew he wasn’t trying to fast-talk me into something I wasn’t comfortable with doing. I originally was going to have the ceiling painted which would require part of the gas line to be relocated as well as a water line. I also initially asked him to include flooring in the price of the job. We initially discussed this over the phone. When I ultimately decided on using drywall for the ceiling, as well excluding the flooring, Curt appropriately provided the correct charge for making the changes. He did not try to overcharge me and stuck to exactly what we’d discussed over phone. At this point I knew I was dealing with not only a professional but also an honest man. Curt kept me informed every step of the way. He worked with the township and union tradesmen for a professional job with every step. He told me the exact date and time frame for each milestone. Curt even patiently answered my crazy text messages with all sorts’ of scenario questions like “but what if this or that goes wrong.” He understood my renovation anxiety and didn’t make me feel like a crazy woman. Early on, Curt even helped me with some design challenges. I was struggling over choosing carpet or tile for the floor when Curt so calmly said, “Why don’t you use both?” I looked at him with the idea light bulb lit over his head while my idea light bulb was unlit. It was such a simple solution to use the tile in the area where my kids would play and carpet in the other. I was kind of embarrassed that I hadn’t thought of it, yet thankful to have Curt as my contractor. We even joked about some of the HGTV shows that I religiously watch. He actually knew about those shows too! To show how in touch Curt was to my needs, he helped us in things not related to what I’d hired him to do. He saved us $200 on a garbage disposal by fixing the one that we thought was broken. It was a simple 2-minute fix that I didn’t know existed. He even provided me with Molly bolts when he saw my toilet paper holder loose. That was a simple fix also. Not to mention his son was kind enough to assist us with a small task. I guess it runs in the family. Needless to say, Curt came in on budget and on time. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. I’m glad my gut told me to use him for my renovation project and I’m glad I followed my instinct. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed or regret using Hummel Construction. If I need anything else done, I know exactly who to contact.

  • I called Jason to see what his schedule was and explained the issue I was having with constantly hearing water running from my upstairs toilet.  He said he would be out in the morning. He called the next day to make sure I was home, and was here within 15 minutes.  Came in checked out the situation, and we talked about replacing another part and not just the flap as it too was showing signs of deterioration.  I said we might as well get it done now since he was here and it would save me a call later down the road. He was in and out in about an hour.  He has been here on several other occasions to install my kitchen faucets and re-routed my waterlines in the crawl space when I re-did my kitchen.  He is now my go to guy for all plumbing repairs or needs we have.  He is dependable, reliable, and extremely reasonable with his pricing. I highly recommend anyone to give him a call, as he will not disappoint you.

  • We just bought a house in the area so we looked at the reviews on Angieslist and asked around.  After receiving several estimates, we choose Friedrich's as it was the least expensive, they were recommended by a friend, and Bob was responsive to all my questions and going over various options. Friedrich's came out right away to get the heat system and a/c installed as it was starting to get cold (several employees came out on a Saturday). The hot water heater was installed a few days later. The agreement was straightforward (no pages of tiny print), which was refreshing.  Bob gave us two recommendations and didn't didn't try to upsell us on certain offerings. In terms of comparing prices, one thing to pay attention to is one company was going to have us assign any energy efficient rebates over to the company, and they would reduce their price based on the future rebate. Friedrich's does not do this so, if the equipment is eligible, you will have a rebate coming.  The only snag (not Friedrich's fault at all) was our municipality's inspector's failure to show up during the window that was provided to us for the first inspection of the new gas line. When the inspection was rescheduled, Bob again showed up and actually dropped off a free air filter as an apology for the inconvenience. This was above and beyond. It was first class. We had a very good experience with this company.

  • My kitchen sink and tub wouldn't drain, and every time I would try to run the washing machine, water would pour out of a pipe. Things are working well now and Skip gave me some tips and some ideas to help alleviate the issue. Once we are ready to make some bigger changes, I will definitely be calling Archie's Plumbing.

  • He was very good.  He was knowledgeable, helpful.  He went out of his way to help me.  I felt safe and comfortable with him.  He was great.  I would call him in an instant.  I highly recommend him.

  • Service technician was punctual, knowledgeable, thorough and polite. Work appears to be of excellent quality and service technician answered all questions after the work was completed. The only downside was the price. The replacement was completed in about an hour at a "fixed" price for the type of repair. Based on the fixed price, cost of a new pump and gaskets, and the time required to complete the work, the average hourly rate charged was approximately $400/hour. Despite all of the good qualities of the service, the excessive labor charge will make me consider other firms in the future.

  • We have been using Jeff for plumbing jobs for almost two years now and he is always a pleasure. His prices are always extremely reasonable and he always shows up on time. This time we had a drain pipe leaking from the kitchen sink and it was draining into the garage. Jeff came out on a Saturday (Which is awesome considering its hard to find plumbers who come out on weekends), and he was able to locate where exactly the leak was coming from, and repair it with a new piece of pipe. We then had him out the following Monday to redo the wood he had to cut through under the sink to repair the pipe. Overall, he did an excellent job and we will always continue to use him for jobs.

  • There are excellent. So they said that we could do it if you like, their price seemed pretty reasonable. They're pretty honest and upfront they will give you a price and they will be honest with you and they will do what they say they are going to do.

  • Great experience for a Sunday job. We were called through every step of the process, the Service provider showed up at the scheduled time, performed the service and cleaned up when the service was completed.
