    GRES PAVING & EXCAVATING
Poor installation, poor service. In May, 2017, I spent $6760 to have Gres Paving completely remove and replace my driveway. At the time of the installation the crew was fine, the job seemed to be ok. Less than a year later, the edges of the driveway had begun to crack and separate. I called Gres on April 29th. On May 16th, without my knowledge, the crew chief from Gres inspected my driveway. He called me (I was not at home) and said the problem of the edges breaking loose was due to driving the riding mower over the edges of the driveway. He offered to send a crew to cut-back the edges to remove the crumbling areas but advised that it really needs to have some kind of edging around the driveway, like a Belgium block, or to not run the mower across the driveway. Nothing was said when the driveway was installed a year earlier about riding a mower over the edges and Gres never mentioned the need for me to install edging like Belgium block. I've had this type of driveway at this house for 30 years and never had edges fall apart like is happening now. Also, cutting back the edges will likely only have the problem continue with the fresh edges, it will not fix the problem, and I will end up with a smaller driveway than what I paid-for in the first place. On June 27, 2018, after speaking again with the crew chief, I agreed to have them put in fill dirt to create a more even transition between the grass and the driveway with the idea being to prevent further deterioration of my driveway. Sadly, the execution and result were totally separated from the idea. First, the dirt was placed along the edge of the driveway but not tamped-down so it will do no good whatsoever to restrain any further deterioration of the driveway. Second, Gres did not have the courtesy to include grass seed in the fill. The crew chief had mentioned to me the type of seed they would use and that they get it from Home Depot. Finally, the fill dirt they used was total garbage. It was filled with broken glass, metal shards and other debris (I shared pictures of it with Gres). I then had to remove all of the dirt because I did not want my dog slicing her paws to shreds on the broken glass and metal shards. A couple weeks later the supervisor called me (he was on vacation) and offered to remove the dirt but it was too late. The problem is that the driveway is defective and the cracking is not due to driving the riding mover across it. It was shoddy workmanship followed-up by a Band Aid solution. I am disappointed by the work and the follow-up and, in the end the belligerence of the crew chief.

Although we had to place the project on hold, I'm giving JR 5 stars for their responsiveness, follow up, competitive pricing and punctuality. Once the project is back on track I'll probably be calling on them to do it.

    Budget Sealers Inc
Glenn was personable and gave a written estimate. Work was performed in a timely fashion. Everything was neat and cleaned up, just like no work had been done, except we were left with a beautiful new driveway. Would highly recommend.

THE CO. REMOVED THE OLD DRIVEWAY ASPHALT, LEVELED THE GROUND, REMOVED OLD DEBRIS, AND REPAVED WITH NEW ASPHALT. THE DRIVEWAY LOOKS GREAT. THEY LEFT THE PLACE VERY CLEAN AND WHILE DOING THE JOB DID NOT INCONVENIENCE ME IN ANY WAY.THE COST WAS APROX $3200
ON THE 2ND CONTRACT, THEY SIDED AND REPLACED THE WINDOWS IN MY OLD BARN, WHICH WAS CONVERTED TO A GARAGE MANY YEARS AGO. THE BARN WAS NEVER SIDED (WAS BUILT IN 1912) .THEY INSTALLED THE SIDING, THE NEW WINDOWS, REPAIRED THE DAMAGED WOOD, CLEANED AND PREPED THE GARAGE, INSTALLED INSULATION, CREATED A SOFFIT (THE BARN HAD NEVER HAD A SOFFIT). REFRAMED AND SHIMMED THE NEW FRAMES AND INSTALLED NEW ALUMINUM TRIM ALL AROUND.MY BARN NOW LOOKS LIKE A COMPLETELY NEW STRUCTURE.
ONCE AGAIN THEY CAME AND DID THE JOB, EFFICIENTLY, CLEANLY, AND DID NOT INCONVENIENCE ME.
I WAS ALSO VERY PLEASED WITH THE COST
MY NEXT BIG JOB WILL BE FINISHING MY BASEMENT NEXT YEAR AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO GIVE THEM A CALL WHEN I AM READY.

    Asphalt Services

I received four estimates for the job from local vendors.  Mike from Asphalt Services was by far the most knowledgeable sales rep I ran across.  He explained all of the hows and whys, listened patiently to all my questions, and presented a quote which was right about in the middle of the others.  My wife and I decided to go with Asphalt Services on the spot.  It took a couple weeks to get the job scheduled, and we had a mild but irksome scheduling snafu on the first day that caused me to have to drive home from work to go over a few things with the on-site foreman, but the installation went smoothly overall.  They even asked me if I wanted them bury a downspout tube under the new driveway, which I wouldn't even have known was an option.  This downspout re-route solved the primary reason I needed a new driveway!

    Chucks Paving
The driveway cracked within 1 year of installation. Chuck told me it would last 20 years. Called Chuck's Paving and left telephone messages at least 15 times over 2 months no response or call back.  They don't care after they get your money. Terrible to say the least.

    PAVE PATROL
Joe Rego & his team at Pave Patrol are fantastic! I hired them to replace the concrete sidewalks and asphalt driveway at my 91 year old Mother's house. Joe went out of his way to help us with permits, explain the process, and make sure my mom had easy access while they were working. They completed the job in less time than expected and the finished product is perfect. We are all so happy and Mom smiles every time she walks out the door!
I would highly recommend Pave Patrol to anyone needing asphalt or concrete work.
