Handyman reviews in Swedesboro

  • Went great. Vinnie came and looked at the job. Gave me a fair estimate and we settled on a price a few days later. I also added the insulation job request a day before the work and they accommodated me , again with a fair price. Workers came on time on the scheduled day and got right to work. Work was done to my satisfaction and workers were polite and professional. I would definitely use them again.

  • Ed was fantastic in every way. He promptly contacted me after I left a message. His quote was fair and lower than others I obtained. He did not up charge even though he spent more time than he initially thought on the different projects I had on the list. He always arrived on time. Great communicator both on email and via telephone. I have already recommended him to a friend of mine. I will absolutely hire him again! Thank you so much Ed. Great work!

  • I cannot say enough about the quality of Joe's work.  He fixed imperfections as he painted and his work does not have to be checked.  Joe gives your repairs the same quality attention he would give to his own.  Paint, repair and replace drywall, light electrical & plumbing.  Haven't gotten to outside work yet.  He replaced molding that needed tricky cutout for a door next to kitchen cabinets that I have wanted repaired for TEN YEARS!!!!

We had soot damage and Joe first wiped down and cleaned ALL WALLS & CEILINGS before he painted.  Just the thought of washing down the walls to remove soot exhausted me, but Joe did it in no time!

He put in a CLOSET ORGANIZER in our master closet after he painted and repaired some drywall (the cheap one that came with the house pulled out of the drywall in a few places).  We upgraded our doors on the first floor and replaced the knobs and hinges.

He also is very knowledgeable and has good suggestions or alternatives.

He listens to music, packs his own lunch and works quietly.  He is very careful with your items, and cleans up when he finishes for the day.

TRUSTWORTHY, which is one of the ultimate requirements.  Prompt and returns your calls.  He also has a FACEBOOK page for his business, but I don't do FACEBOOK and cannot provide the link.  But there are pictures on his FACEBOOK page of the repairs he did in my home - I sent him about 20 that I took while he was working.

As soon as I get the next release of funds to complete my repairs, he will be working at my house again, so schedule him while you can!  4/2016

  • Well what I originally wanted them to do could not be done because the ceiling joints were steel and they need to be wood to hang the overhead shelves in the garage.    So I than gave them the Honey Do list to tackle.   I ran out of things for them to do.

  • We met Tony DeSignor from CPOS & Refacing at a Home & Garden Show and requested a quote for some work in our kitchen.   Tom DeSignor came to our home and spent a lot of time with us discussing exactly what we wanted, measuring for custom fit, and helping design the right shelving configuration for our needs.   Just a few weeks later, the custom-made shelves were ready for installation.  Scott was the installer and he was prompt, neat, and did a beautiful job installing everything.   We now have 9 custom height shelves in our pantry, replacing the previous cheap wire shelving, as well as two pull-out shelves and a tray divider for cookie sheets, cutting boards, etc. in two base cabinets.  We are thrilled with the results!   Everything went exactly as they promised, and the quality of the material and workmanship is outstanding.  Thanks to Tony, Tom and Scott - you guys did an outstanding job!

  • We first contacted JDS on March 25th to get an estimate for the work we wanted done.  It took over two weeks to finally get someone out to give an estimate (this included a rescheduling at JDS' request for a family emergency, which we understand happens occasionally).
The gentleman that came out to look at our property was very friendly and seemed knowledgable.  He said that he was doing estimates "all day" and he should have an estimate emailed to us the next day.  It's been two weeks since and we've never got an estimate or heard any reasoning for the delay.
If their schedule was full or felt our job was too small, the professional thing to do would be to let the potential customer know.

  • He returned my call promptly enough and we set up an appointment for him to come out and go over my bathroom remodeling job but he never showed up or even gave me  the courtesy of calling. Not much professionalism there!  There is at least $10,000 worth of work I need done, from gable vents replaced to the master bath remodeled, his loss!

  • My husband was given this referral through Lowe's.  Upon contacting Bob Layton, we clearly explained to him that we were coming from a distance in order to meet him at my sister's home (over 100 miles) - the location of the work to be bid on.  She is ill and it is our goal to make some improvements to her home to make it more comfortable.
The morning of our meeting with Bob, we called initially to explain we were running behind schedule by half an hour (trying to keep him apprised of our schedule).  From that point forward Bob was difficult and resistant to locking in a time to meet.  Several calls were made to Bob once we arrived at my sister's (only 15 minutes later than originally stated) to determine his arrival time, but Bob was resistant, insisting that he had "rearranged his schedule" - and yet he never arrived so we're at a loss as to what exactly he rearranged or why.
During the final telephone call, Bob was extremely rude and belligerent to my husband.  Bob Layton, nor any of Lowe's recommendations, will ever be considered going forward.
My husband did reach out to Lowe's and explained what happened but no one from that company ever bothered to follow up.

  • They are great. Mike came back with a few different pricing options like the different materials and recommendations so that we could make a choice from that. So, they are really great about discussing options with you. They make sure that you know what you are doing when you are making the decisions. Then they came back with different brands and stuff like that for the gutter guards so that we could choose the best. They did all kinds of stuff. I am actually getting ready to call them back, but we haven’t yet. We are having a little bit of a mold issue from the rain we had. So, we are going to let them do the work. Everything they have done has been great. The guys are nice and they are responsive. I spent probably around $5000 to $5500. They have done a whole bunch of little stuff. We have no complaints. We are really comfortable using them. We will be using them as we go forward. When it comes to the price, I don’t have a lot of experience, but we are satisfied. We would use their services in the future too. In fact, we are getting ready to call them out to see if they can help us with the mold. We are definitely very happy with them.

  • My house had been burglarized and I had them come out to repair the damage. They repaired my broken sliding glass door, boarded up three windows and removed the broken glass. The next day the estimator came to my house and was able to work up a quote on the spot for replacing the damaged windows and doors and replacing some carpet. After comparing a few other companies I decided to go with Fix It All because of their quick response, high level of professionalism, stellar reviews, competitive pricing and their previous experience with other projects like mine. After receiving a larger than expected check from the insurance company I decided I was going to add a video surveillance system along with some trim and shadow boxing, I had them complete those installations as well. Overall the house came out better than when it was originally. The new doors and windows look great and really cut down the draft in my house. The shadow boxing looks amazing, some of the cuts look like they would be impossible, their carpenter is a true professional. They were always, on time, professional, friendly, and kept their workspace clean. I look forward to having them finish my basement!
