  • We purchased a home in the last year with older cooling and heating systems. Both systems had not been well maintained by previous owners and were approximately 15 to 20 years old. After getting an AC inspection/tuneup from another vendor, we were told the first floor air conditioning system was out of coolant and the second floor system was in rough shape, and would likely fail soon. Based upon previous positive experience with Shamrock to install a high-efficiency boiler last year, we asked Shamrock to give us an estimate for installation of Lennox systems, air-conditioning for the first floor and air-conditioning/heating combination unit for the second floor. The estimate was significantly lower than a competitor, and the sales representative answered all of my technical questions to explain rationale behind individual system components. Both systems were installed over two hot days in June, and Shamrock was sure to work carefully with me to make sure that the replacement systems were located in ways that would not impact or lessen storage capacity in my home. Employees were punctual, professional, and did a great job!

  • Ken, the lead installer came out 2 days before install and wrote instructions for installers which included as the 2nd instruction to replace the line set (which carries the Puron from condenser to the coil). When the installers arrived they said they were going to flush the lines and not replace them. 1st the existing lines were too small and 2nd any impurities left in the lines will affect the A/C down the road (just google it). I told the installers the quote specifically stated to replace the lines and if they din't want to replace the lines, they could give me my deposit back. The salesman Bill called me and informed me that they would replace the line set as agreed. Then he called me back and said the installers left and won't due the job. Very unprofessional at best, at worst they were never going to replace the line set (which is what I was warned about by other companies who gave me quotes). By not replacing the lines they save time and money, and you as the consumer don't get what you were promised or paid for. Bad business

  • Management refused an amicable adjustment in charges and wanted to evaluate the smell of oil in my home after 4 service calls. Technicians need training, Management needs customer service training. Madam!

  • I've dealt with them for many years and they did the job well but I wasn't pleased necessarily with the billing situation. I've always been happy with them. I told them what the problem was and they didn't have the part. I paid the full service charge when the guy was here 10 minutes and had to go and order a part. It was a week later when I got charged another full service call. It was something they never did to me before. He wasn't here all that long.

  • When we bought our house we were under a one year warranty and they came out under that.  There was an issue with the guy coming out and not being on time or calling to reschedule. My main frustration was with our little electrical panel; they were a particular light switch and just moves up and down not the normal kind. He had to go out to a hardware store to go buy a light switch and it was different types of switches because the hardware store did not have what we would have. He did not have a plate to go over that.  You can see the metal, there is no plate to cover it. He just left the old plate. I found it unacceptable and told him and he said he fixed the issue so it wasn't really his problem since he fixed the issue which is the light flickering.  It was under warranty so we were not a typical customer but I thought he would treat us with the same service.  I do think it was overpriced. I called the office and let them know I was not happy about it but they did not do anything about it. The guy was not that friendly.

  • We realized on Friday night that our downstairs air conditioner was not working.  I contacted McAllister and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Charlie.  He was extremely helpful and attempted to troubleshoot the issue before scheduling the call.  I thought this was gracious considering they would not receive any money without a service call.  After exploring a few ideas, I decided that a
    service call would be necessary. 
    Charlie was able to get me on the schedule for the 1st appointment the next morning (Saturday!).  The service tech came to the house on time and was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.  He tried to repair the condensation pump, but ultimately it had to be replaced.  He had the necessary equipment on his truck and replaced it within an hour, while keep everything nice and
    I was very pleased with them and will use this in the future!

  • Our original condenser seemed to be a little underszed. We called Harriet's and they installed a bigger unit and charged only the difference between the previously installed unit and the new unit. The house is very comfortable now in the midst of our 5th heat wave.
