Hospital Care reviews in Somers Point

I was pleased. I was in the actual hospital for a week. The rest of the time I was in the rehabilitation hospital. When I got to the ER they were all terrific. It was not a frightening experience. I was conscious and we had fun while they were running tests. They did not let on in any way how sick I was. I appreciated it. They were not alarmists. I am 83 and I went alone. That can be a horrifying experience. But when I got there it was pleasant. They kept me 6-12 hours before I got to a room. I was too sick to eat and the food was a little bland but it could have been my diet. The personal part of it was lousy because I was pretty sick. But I could tell they were attcking every one of my problems in an aggressive way which was right for the situation. I came out with flying colors.

I had severe pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. My regular Dr. was not in and they had no one covering for her, so I decided to go to the Quick Care Center at this hospital. I went in the morning and I happened to go at a time when they weren't busy so there really wasn't a wait in the waiting room. In about 5 minutes I was taken in to have my vital signs checked. Soon after that I was brought to a bed. It went somewhat downhill from there. I heard the nurses and Dr. (I found out later) chit chatting about men, food, TV etc. Finally after about 20 minutes a Dr. came in to see me. (Kelly McCoy). I was a little annoyed because I was in so much pain and I should have been seen instead of her talking with the nurses. She was friendly though, and ordered an anti-inflammatory shot and a pain shot. The nurse that came in to administer the shot (I don't know her name) was not very patient or helpful as I was trying to roll over so she could give me the shots. After she administered them, I asked for a blanket because I was cold. She handed me a sheet. About 45 minutes went by with no pain relief. At this point I was crying, they were not busy at all, the nurses and Dr were chit chatting again and I got out of bed (and struggled to do so) and told them I was still in pain. The Dr said that she hadn't been in because she had to give the medicine time to work, but that enough time had passed so she would order me another shot. If enough time had passed, then she should have been in to check on me. The grumpy nurse came back in and gave me another shot. It made the pain tolerable enough for my dad to be able to take me home.
