Tile Installation reviews in Shamong

  • Rocke construction was contracted to complete a master bed/bath project for us. We has a master bedroom/bath and a single bedroom existing that we wanted turned into a total master suite. The framed the new areas as needed. It gave us 2 massive closets that we needed for our clothes. Floors were refinished (existing oak with patchwork needed due to walls being moved). We had a full remodel on the bathroom. We had a new stand up shower with bench installed with Jacuzzi tub. The shower was not a standard one. We did not want a curb to step over so Rocke lowered the floor and structurally fixed the floor to lower the wet bed for the tile so that the tile in the shower and the tile in the bathroom was the same height. We installed frameless glass and a custom double vanity. Tile was on floors, tub deck and front, up the walls 4? and even framed the tile around the 2 windows we had. I really made the space. They were courteous, professional and great with guidance for the project layout, materials, etc. The door we installed on the bathroom was a custom etched ??? frameless glass on barn door hardware outside the bathroom.

  • Vinnie gave the estimate. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and on time.  We got the estimate a day or two later and it was less than $4700 that was the final cost to Cousin Vinnies, but we opted for cement board in the tub area and had subflooring replaced. This involved more time, more labor . All of this work went well.  Lou did most of the work on this job. He was also knowledgeable and experienced. he removed the old bathroom and  brought it outside. Many of the studs in the bathroom were bowed and not  straight. Lou took care of that.  The tub which is 5 feet wide was being installed in a space that was slightly smaller than that. Again another issue that Lou took care of. When the tub was first installed it creaked. From what I understand this is a common problem with Americast tubs. Again, Lou took care of it. Experience, experience. Lou then tiled the bath tub area with a beveled subway tile with a recessed niche in the wall, also 2 glass shelves. After that everything went as planned. For whatever reason, Lou wasn't able to finish the job. Vinnie promptly sent over another installer/plumber"Vinnie" to complete the job.
Vinnie gives you a list of material that is needed for the job. Give yourself plenty of time  to get everything. some of the things we wanted were special order and didn't come in when expected. We spent $3000 for material, coupled with $4700 with Cousin Vinnies, that makes our bath $7700. This was only half of what some of the other estimates were. We bought good quality material and Cousin Vinnies did an excellent job of remodeling our bath. We waited a month before we made this review to see if there were any surprises i.e. leaks, fixture issues, etc.  and there were none.  We got our  moneys worth.  When the time comes, we will use them again..

Cintex did a great job on our shore property!  They performed a total interior demolition, installed a new kitchen and bath, and tiled all floors. Also Vince replaced all of ours doors, and trim. The place now looks so good that my wife insisted that we buy all new furniture!

  • While my daughter was showering and I was downstairs doing laundry, water began heavily dripping above my head. I hoped it was a minor issue, like the line around the tub needing new caulk but it wasn't. Once I investigated the leak by removing the caulk, the tiles started falling off the wall and the sheet rock was saturated. I continued to remove tiles until I found dry sheet rock. Unfortunately, it was a large section of the wall. Since the tiles had been painted by the previous owner and were not the most attractive, I gutted the entire thing. I removed all of the tiles and existing sheet rock a little at a time. It took a few months of working on it (thankfully we have a second bathroom) but once I got it cleared out and decided I wasn't skilled to install new sheet rock or tile it myself, I looked on Angie's List.
After reading some reviews, I found Mud Set and Tile and gave John a call. He was out to do an estimate a few days later. He emailed me with the written estimate that evening and we scheduled the job. He arrived at 8 am on the dot and started right away. He installed the sheet rock and had the spackle drying when he left to grab lunch. When he came back, he cut and set the tiles. He left the first day around 5:30pm and when he returned the following day, he only had the grout to finish. He was done by lunchtime on the second day and the tiles look perfect.
John was very professional and respectful. He cleaned up any mess and aside from the drop cloth to protect the carpet and the occasional sound from the installation, there was no major disruption to the house. I will definitely call John if I have tile work in the future. It was an extremely positive experience.

  • We went to their office and they had all the samples of everything from the flooring to the grout colors for the back splash tile. We choose everything before the project started. Then they brought their team to the house and gave me a calendar showing when and what to expect on each week and pretty much stayed on schedule. Through the entire process the project manager Dave kept us informed and was always available to answer any questions we had. Jamie at the office was so very helpful with the choosing of tiles flooring etc and colors. The workers were very neat and cleaned up each day before they left and were very courteous at all times. Anthony who did all the trim work and doors did excellent work. Mick who did the tile work was also excellent our back splash in the kitchen is gorgeous. I could not be happier It's like moving into a new home, Thank you  to the Amiano team wonderful job.

  • It went well.  The technician who did the actual work was great.  It basically took the day to do 2 bathrooms and the kitchen counter.  The grout was scrubbed and coloring was added before a seal coat was done.  There was a pricing disagreement over fixing some chips in the granite counter (the up-charge hadn't been included in the initial estimate).  We agreed on an additional price to fix the chipped areas and the work was done.  We liked the final work result and would use them again.

  • . John installed a kitchen backsplash on a Sunday afternoon. He responded  quickly to the initial phone call voicemail and said he was booked for quite a while.  He called back a day or two later and said he had an opening on the weekend, perhaps he had a cancellation. We booked the date, he asked me how many receptacles and square footage, etc., and came up with a price. He showed up on time, did the complete job, tile, grout, caulk, clean up.  All I had to do was to seal the tile and grout 48 hrs later. Looks great . I bought the tile, grout , caulk and pencil tile border pieces. John supplied the tileset and the knowhow..

  • The job was quoted within 3 days of our initial contact. It was quick and painless, and it turned out to be the number they charged at the end of the job -- there were no unexpected costs for installation, and only minor extra charges for materials. They started within the range of dates given at the time of quoting.
The quality of the work is excellent, and the professionalism they displayed was without peer. They started promptly each day, had the equipment they needed to do the job, and cleaned up each night. For a job done in the middle of our house, it caused almost no disruption. In addition, they were willing to offer opinions re: design decisions, but defer to our decisions if we chose not to take their recommendations. The business owners were on site throughout the project, and did most of the skilled work.
We were delighted with the process and the result.

  • John arrived on time to install the ceramic flor and wall molding in my master bath.  He was efficient, clean, polite, and one of the nicest people I have had a home repair experience wtih.  the resulting finish was magical.  It was like Christmas morning.  I had referred to my bathroom as the "ghetto bath" for years and now am proud to show it off to people.  It was such a nice experience I now have future plans to ask John to do my back splash as well as my hall bathroom.  I highly recommend him for any tile project.  Thank you John.

  • This was an incredible job done by a competent craftsman. We couldn't be happier with the work.
