Tile Installation reviews in River Edge

  • Great! Keith has a lot of experience in the area so everything from permits to the demolition dumpster was managed professionally. He's got a great crew (carpenters, electrician, plumber, tile and wood floor installer) who handled all facets of my kitchen demolition and installation with Keith there doing the work and overseeing all aspects. And with any major renovation there were "bumps in the road" that Keith was able to roll with and saved the day numerous times when something didn't go according to plan. He's also meticulous with trying to keep the accumulated dust to a minimum with clever floor to ceiling tarp posts which closed off entire rooms. In addition he has a zippered tarp to keep dust out of higher traffic areas that need to be accessed. And he always broom cleaned the area before he left for the day. Thanks to Built-Well I have beautiful new kitchen!

  • Had work done while we were away. They gutted a very old bathroom down to the studs. Since we were away I had daily phone calls every morning- it’s always nice to have a contractor that answers the phone when you call - we are more than thrilled with the final product

  • They were great experiences. We have worked with Platinum several times because we liked their prices, punctuality, and professionalism. The first time we hired them was to remodel our guest bathroom. We had a tub/wall combo that we didn't like and wanted to replace with new tub and tile. We got several proposals, but many of them were over priced and they always would end up breaking most of the bathroom. Platinum proposed a cleaner job also at a lower cost. It was great! We were not happy with how the cubby in the shower was made, and we didn't say it to them until after a few months, they still came and fixed it! The second time we had them was a few months later to remodel the kitchen. We wanted a bigger island and to get rid of a fridge in the middle of the kitchen and move it to a side. We asked them for a quote before we asked anyone else. We were so happy with the price that we didn't even ask other companies for any quotes. They moved the fridge and opened up space for the new fridge with the existing cabinets. The also installed the new island and re did the kitchen floor from tile to wood. They made it match with the floor we already had in the living room. It was great as well! Third time we hired them to put a wall outside our house. When we bought the house, it seems like the living room was an extension made on a deck. The underneath the deck was never covered, therefore the living room was always cold. Platinum put insulation and a new wall. We had at least 2 other contractors give us a quote, but then we finally asked Platinum again (we didn't ask them initially because we weren't sure they did that type of job). Well, they gave us a proposal and it was lower than the others, and again with guys we already knew. It was an easy decision. Then the last job we used them for was a few weeks ago to convert out master bath from a tub (kind of Jacuzzi) to a stand-up shower. They came to give us the price almost immediately. They were available for inspections, and they were even available for picking up permits or materials if I couldn't do it myself. I was very pleased with their job. I made a mistake getting the wrong tiles; they noticed when they started putting up the tile and saw the difference. I felt terrible, but they were so patient and helpful. They just removed the tile and waited for me to get new one. I really recommend these guys!!!! They have also done a few other smaller jobs in my house, like repairing a hole in the wall that my nephews made playing soccer inside the basement. Repairing a leak in the kitchen ceiling. Repairing a broken piece in the second floor wooden floor...I think I lost count. The price i am putting down below is only for the master bathroom as I don't remember the other prices.

  • Nick and Matt were extremely professional, respectful, and accommodating of our tight budget to redo our 1970s kitchen. They helped us to locate quality, yet budget-friendly materials to give us a beautiful new kitchen. They gutted and installed new floors, ceiling, cabinets, countertops, backsplash and windows in less than 3 weeks! They even custom-made an island to fit into our small space. Nick and Matt were also very tidy and didn't leave a trace of debris behind once they were finished. We were so pleased with their professional and budget-friendly work, that we've since had them install additional windows in our house and will definitely have them back for other jobs.

  • John and Scott are hard workers and very professional. They were prompt and cleaned up after their work for the day. My husband and I felt very comfortable leaving the key to our house when we couldn't be there to let them in or see them out. The plumber and electrician he contracted were also very professional.
The results are great. John did a beautiful job on the tile. He pays attention to detail. A real artist!
John was always in contact to be clear what was happening that day or if we had questions about what or where to purchase the things we needed for the bathroom.
The dumpster (we needed for taking away all the refuse) left a slight divet in our driveway, but John said he would be back to patch it in the Spring.
I would gladly recommend John and Scott to anyone. They are nice guys and completely trustworthy!

  • He does excellent work. I do not need to use anyone else. He is a licensed and insured contractor. I have quit using Angie's List. He does everything interior. He is the guy. He has pictures to prove his work. He turned my basement into a man cave. He was the most reasonable on price. He was the one in the middle and I went with him, because for the price, the work was unbelievable and I am very happy with my man cave. I am going to continue to use him.

  • Originally, the one bathroom was only to be re-grouted and re-chaulked, but Billy pointed out the movement in a section of wall tile  likely meant that there was water damage.  He was correct.  He removed the tiles and exposed damaged wall board.  He cleaned the area and replaced the wall board and then put back the same tiles.  It now looks like the day it was installed 20 years ago.

  • We bought a Big Deal coupon for 300 SF of tile and grout cleaning... and then forgot about it. Three months before it was due to expire, John emailed to remind me to schedule the appointment. The day of the appointment, he showed up on time, and completed the work and cleanup within a couple of hours. The tile looks great, and without being asked, he also recaulked the joint between the bathtub and the tile.

  • The first time I contacted Justin, we hadn't yet decided on the approach we wanted to take for our kitchen renovation. I left a message for him saying that I wasn't sure he was the kind of provider I was looking for, but he called me back anyway. After talking on the phone, he came over and we decided that he wasn't a good match for what I wanted. A few weeks later, after my wife and I came up with a plan, I called him back to see if he would be interested in doing the tile work. Long story short, we hired him and he was fantastic! I was acting as my own contractor for the first time, and he gave me guidance along the way with aspects of the job he wasn't even doing. His tile suggestions were great, he was flexible to meet what we wanted, and his price was reasonable. When we had a problem with the granite countertop fit (work done by someone else), he came over and offered suggestions to get around it and ended up adding a layer of wallboard over what he had already done. Add to all of this the fact that he's a personable guy, answered all my questions, explained what he was doing as work progressed, and worked on a Saturday to finish the job. I recommend him highly.
