    Falletta Masonry
The owner came to provide the estimate and stone samples.  He was on time and made sure not to dirty our space.  Then dropped off additional samples for us (at our home) when we decided against all the original ones he left.  Ultimately we decided on a stone that was not one of the products he provided samples on, and yet, he did not have a problem locating and picking this up for our project.  The project would take two days.  Both days they showed up when they said they would and worked hard through the day. They followed all special instructions and did a wonderful job.  The contractor I had updating the room was very impressed with their work and has use Faletta on other projects.  They cleaned up after the job.  We were very happy with the final product.

    UP ON THE ROOF, LLC
House has a heat exchanger insert built into the fireplace that takes extra time to clean and complicates chimney access. Swept the flue from outside the house using an access door located on the ground floor that is built into the chimney. Used a vacuum cleaner to prevent dust from spreading outside the work area.

I didnt use the deal because they cancelled 2 appointments. One of them was cancelled 30 minutes before the appointment and the other I was advised that a voicemail message was left about recheduling it for the next day. I didnt receive any messages or anything at all.

The service provider couldn't perform the job I wanted done until September. That is too late. I have water seeping into my garage every time it rains and excavation on the outer garage wall is necessary, as well as cementing inside of garage wall. So, I was able to contact another mason, not affiliated with Angie's List, who is working on this job today and should be completed today as well!

    CS Construction Improvement
Several other contractors would not accept a project with this complexity.  Sergio was confident, experienced, smart and honest.  He also cared and gave an unusual amount of personal attention.  You can tell by the amount of large equipment that he owns (including a number of large trucks and trailers) ? he clearly takes pride in and invests in his business.

The project was not well organized or well laid out on my part, and the scope out of necessity did increase.  With items that were unplanned (and therefore impacted the budget), Sergio was particularly fair and flexible.  He urged that we go a few extra steps on safety and structural integrity in several instances that he considered important, and I doubt that he even covered his costs with those items.

One example of the project?s problems included trusses being the wrong length.  Instead of using that as an opportunity to build profit into the project (which I can safely say 90+% of contractors would do), he made it his problem and repaired the trusses on site.

The winter of 2013/2014 was one of the coldest and snowiest winters in decades as we not only had a half dozen major snow storms, but it stayed below freezing most of the winter so the snow did not melt.  This messed up the schedule significantly, but Sergio ate those costs and was flexible and responsive when the weather warmed.
If I had to say one negative, it was that the group was a bit messy around the site.  In fairness, it was not supposed to last as long as it did (because of the weather) so I don?t fault him for that.

When you work with a contractor on a detailed project, they are like a partner as you must rely on them for expertise and objectivity.  On many occasions, Sergio suggested improvements that clearly resulted in additional cost, and he bore that extra cost without complaining. I was impressed on numerous occasions.
In summary, I like him, I trust him, I would highly recommend him, and I would absolutely work with him again.

    Ember Fireplaces
Keith and Marta were great to work with and managed all of the unexpected challenges of our job very professionally and collaboratively, we couldn't be happier.  We had a very traditional, wood burning fireplace with one full wall of our family room being completely brick with a raised brick hearth.  We wanted to convert to gas, remove the raised hearth and replace the brick with a more modern looking finish. We had a good idea of what we wanted to do at the start of the project but after discussing various options with Keith and Marta, we agreed to alter the design and go with a slate cultured stone for the fireplace surround while covering some of the brick in sheetrock to make the room feel more unified.  We discovered along the way that we needed to upgrade our existing gas line to accommodate the fireplace and while Ember did not perform that part of the job, they were nonetheless helpful in assuring it was done correctly.  The finished product is beautiful, much more aligned with the style of our home and we are very satisfied with the result!

    Philip Cardelfe Masonry LLC
The work was done timely.  Mr. Cardelfe was professional and helpful and on several occasions, provided new ideas to how we wanted the walkway to be placed. We had asked for seveal estimated for the work from other masons and his was the higher of the three, but we had seen some of his work done in and around our neighborhood and felt that he was the right choice.

Very impressed with the professionalism and quality. Excellent value for money, heads and shoulders above other companies contacted. The work was done in two days to a high standard. This should be your go-to-guy for masonry services in the area.

    Edward Lind W
after several calls, Mr. Lind returned my call.  I described the scope of the projects.  He then told me I would be on a lengthy list due to the hurricane damage in the area.  He then told me he was probably going to drop all of the other clients because he got an out of state offer that he was considering.  Why he had me even go thru the exercise of describing the project, I have no idea.  Bad attitude.
