    I was very happy with these folks. Both the estimator and the workman came when they said they were going to, they cleaned up when they were finished and they returned calls even after the job was completed and the bill paid. There was no pressure to buy and no hidden costs. The price I was quoted was the price I was billed. I didn't even need to put any money down to hold my appointment. This is a family owned company and the quality of the service shows they really care about what they do. If you have a wet basement, these are your guys.

    Its not often I will take the time to write a review about a contractor that I have used. Not because I don't have the time but because none ever warranted one. Until now! National Home Improvements was by far the best company that I have ever dealt with. Ralph (owner) not only did everything he said he would do but went above and beyond. He was extremely professional, he was always available, whether that be via phone, email or a last minute scheduled meeting. Building a brand new house can be very stressful but I have to say that Ralph and his team made this a wonderful experience. His team: Every contractor that was on the job was very respectful and professional. The quality of craftsmanship was second to none. I would highly recommend using National Home Improvements. In fact, I have. I recommended Ralph to 3 different people ( one who is building brand new, one whos is doing an addition and one kitchen remodel) all of them are extremely pleased. Thanks Ralph for not only getting our job done on time but for also making this process a very pleasant one!

    Sha'Chon Kasey, Senior Service Technician, performed annual maintenance on my sump pump system.  He was right on time and very professional in his approach.  He was happy to answer all of my questions.  I am very happy with the service experience I had and will be calling on Quality First Basement for any related needs I may have in the future.

    ProServ Construction, 645 Sydney Ave, Union Beach, NJ 07735 (Lic # 13VH07703600) never got the required permit, did not return the deposit (less removal of deck), and did not build the contracted for new deck as of this date (1/26/2016).  I received multiple phone calls and messages from ProServ that they would start the deck "next week", but they never showed up. Every time I received a call, I contacted the Middletown Building department, and found that they either never applied for the permit or did not pay/pick up a permit.
    I contacted the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and this issue has been turned over to their lawyer to bring this case to court. According to the NJ Dept of Consumer Affairs, there are multiple cases where ProServ has not completed contracted for work.
    In addition, ProServ charged $780.50 total NJ tax for this deck (deposit included about 1/2 of this cost), which is illegal according to the NJ Division of Taxation.  I sent ProServ the required "Certificate of Exempt Capital Improvement on 7/6/15 and told ProServ that the tax charge was illegal/where to find the correct information/NJ tax phone number, but they still insist that the tax they charged is correct.  This tax violation has been brought to the attention of the NJ Division of Taxation.

    THe Job took a few days and Freddy took pictures before during and after the completion.  He was extremely thorough and vey professional.  He did a great job and I am a very happy customer!  Highly recommend him and will deffinitely be calling him again

    It started off ok. He showed up and was on time. I explained the job to him, he took some measurements and said he would email me an estimate. He also advised that he was not available until mid-Jan. because he does one job at a time and was busy. I said fine. Then I get an email from him two days later saying he has decided not to bid on my project. First he says he has too much work and not enough time, then he informs me that he will be away from the end of Dec. through mid-Jan. Not sure why he even came to my house for the estimate if he is that busy. Or why he would not propose a later date with the estimate. Total waste of time and extremely unprofessional in my opinion. At the very least, he is not reliable and cannot manage professional commitments based on my experience.

    I signed a contract on 8/18/2014 to retain this company to start a walkway and patio improvement
    and new veneer on front foundations project for my house, with a deposit of $800. Per the signed contract,
    the project was supposed to start on 9/29 and completed on 10/7.
    No one ever communicated to me on whether the project will start as planned until I called the scheduling lady
    on 9/25. I was told that the project could be started on 10/8 or 10/9.  On 10/6, I called their office again, and left a
    message for the scheduling lady asking her to call me back to confirm the date as I was given two dates 10/8 or 10/9
    and also let me know the name of the project manager assigned  to my project. I never got any one called back.
    Note that their office has a voice mail box for the entire office, so even if she was out sick as they later claimed, I am sure someone would have picked up my voice mail and should have found out the situation and called me back.
    I called the sales on 10/8, the re-planned date since no one showed up to do the work, about the matter and
    he told me he would contact the lady and let me know.
    As of 10/9 morning, I still did not hear any thing back from the sales and the scheduling lady
    regarding the schedule and when the project can start, so I decided to cancel the contract, since
    they have missed the dates twice and the completion date of 10/7 is passed.
    I faxed and emailed to them 10/9 morning a letter stating that due to their inability to start the project as planed and
    re-planned, and the lack of proper communication to me, I decided to cancel the project and asked for
    the return of the $800 deposit. It was not until after 5:00 PM and well after I have sent them the cancellation letter that
    the scheduling lady left me a voice mail with a new start date of 10/15.
    Before I was told the new 10/15 date and after I have sent them the letter, the sales sent me an email saying
    "this is silly as we have you scheduled". I guess he forgot that as far as customers are concerned, the
    project was not scheduled until a new date is given to the customer and no one told me "we have you scheduled"
    before I sent them the cancellation letter. And, this is probably the first time I was called "silly" in my life...
    I should have told them I am not a kid, I am a senior citizen ...
    The owner called me on 10/10 to talk about the matters. At that time I have already lost my interest in working with
    them. I asked for a refund of my deposit. He refused saying they have put in some work, such as applying
    for permit. I guess he did not know that applying for permit is a simple thing to do that amounts to filling a
    two-page form that even my kids can do ...
    So to make the long story short, I hired this company for a $8200 project with $800 deposit in August. They
    failed to start the project per the contract and the re-planned dates. I tried to cancel the contract after the
    the specified completion date of 10/7 and asked for the refund. They refused to return the $800 deposit.
    Any way, I definitely CAN NOT recommend this company.

    My interaction with the firm's estimator left me unimpressed.  The estimator was terse, seemingly disinterested and spent more time denigrating the competition than selling me on the merits of their work.  In fact, I  can't tell you much about the quality of their work, the approach to their work or what they would be like to work with, because the estimator spent so little time discussing it.  I can, however, tell you  a lot about all the cheats, frauds and dishonest people there are in the industry. When he asked me who else I was speaking with I shared  a few names.  His exact words: "[Company X] is awful..."   After hearing several minutes of his lecture, I asked him who he considered to be reputable competition.  Apparently, there is no one ? Value Dry is the only one!
    In my view this approach lacks integrity and is unprofessional.  Here' s a suggestion to the owner ? sell what YOU have to offer and avoid denigrating others.  It is ironic that someone so bent on denigrating others would act with so little class,

    Several other contractors would not accept a project with this complexity.  Sergio was confident, experienced, smart and honest.  He also cared and gave an unusual amount of personal attention.  You can tell by the amount of large equipment that he owns (including a number of large trucks and trailers) ? he clearly takes pride in and invests in his business.

    The project was not well organized or well laid out on my part, and the scope out of necessity did increase.  With items that were unplanned (and therefore impacted the budget), Sergio was particularly fair and flexible.  He urged that we go a few extra steps on safety and structural integrity in several instances that he considered important, and I doubt that he even covered his costs with those items.

    One example of the project?s problems included trusses being the wrong length.  Instead of using that as an opportunity to build profit into the project (which I can safely say 90+% of contractors would do), he made it his problem and repaired the trusses on site. 

    The winter of 2013/2014 was one of the coldest and snowiest winters in decades as we not only had a half dozen major snow storms, but it stayed below freezing most of the winter so the snow did not melt.  This messed up the schedule significantly, but Sergio ate those costs and was flexible and responsive when the weather warmed.
    If I had to say one negative, it was that the group was a bit messy around the site.  In fairness, it was not supposed to last as long as it did (because of the weather) so I don?t fault him for that.

    When you work with a contractor on a detailed project, they are like a partner as you must rely on them for expertise and objectivity.  On many occasions, Sergio suggested improvements that clearly resulted in additional cost, and he bore that extra cost without complaining. I was impressed on numerous occasions.
    In summary, I like him, I trust him, I would highly recommend him, and I would absolutely work with him again.
