I was very happy with these folks. Both the estimator and the workman came when they said they were going to, they cleaned up when they were finished and they returned calls even after the job was completed and the bill paid. There was no pressure to buy and no hidden costs. The price I was quoted was the price I was billed. I didn't even need to put any money down to hold my appointment. This is a family owned company and the quality of the service shows they really care about what they do. If you have a wet basement, these are your guys.

Sha'Chon Kasey, Senior Service Technician, performed annual maintenance on my sump pump system.  He was right on time and very professional in his approach.  He was happy to answer all of my questions.  I am very happy with the service experience I had and will be calling on Quality First Basement for any related needs I may have in the future.

My interaction with the firm's estimator left me unimpressed.  The estimator was terse, seemingly disinterested and spent more time denigrating the competition than selling me on the merits of their work.  In fact, I  can't tell you much about the quality of their work, the approach to their work or what they would be like to work with, because the estimator spent so little time discussing it.  I can, however, tell you  a lot about all the cheats, frauds and dishonest people there are in the industry. When he asked me who else I was speaking with I shared  a few names.  His exact words: "[Company X] is awful..."   After hearing several minutes of his lecture, I asked him who he considered to be reputable competition.  Apparently, there is no one ? Value Dry is the only one!
In my view this approach lacks integrity and is unprofessional.  Here' s a suggestion to the owner ? sell what YOU have to offer and avoid denigrating others.  It is ironic that someone so bent on denigrating others would act with so little class,

When we bought this home, it was a dry period at the end of the summer and our inspection noted water stains on the exposed footing in one of our crawl spaces. He suggested it was a grading issue which we addressed with a landscaping company.   However that didn?t alleviate the puddles forming after heavy rains in the crawl space. I realized we would have to water proof
it so that I could get piece of mind. I called in 3 companies, 2 wanted to do French drains inside leading to a sump pump. A method I was familiar with from a prior basement waterproofing. I was very skeptical when Jeff Nero a design consultant for Quality 1st came to explain the encapsulation concept of water control. Jeff got into the space and looked over every area of my concern, coming up with a suggested solution. After answering all of my concerns and questions, Jeff had convinced me this was what i needed for my problem. I would be encapsulating the space with their system AND they would be insulating the entire space to an R11 value. Before water proofing became an issue this insulation was going to be a separate project and done by another company; but was all part of the Quality 1st crawl space system. Not only did I do that space but also did the other crawl space that didn't have water but was in need of insulation and seal up. It was prepared the same as the other area but without a sump pump. If water ever got into that space all we would need is to have them install the pump. 2 spaces handled for less than the cost of one space with French drains. I was AMAZED! The crew showed up on time, prepared the area in the basement for dust protection and went to work on the 2 areas simultaneously. By 4:30 they were finished and wow, did those crawl spaces look clean, bright and well insulated. This encapsulation method has allowed me to open up the crawl spaces to the rest of the basement to allow them to become the same temperatureas the main basement area. The floors above those areas are warmer making the rooms warmer.  Because of this waterproofing method I don?t feel like an obsessed man constantly looking at accumulating water and you know how that feels if you are dealing with water.
I?d recommend their system for crawl spaces and am considering their patented basement finishing system too.

    Select Basement Waterproofing Inc
Initial appointment set for 9 to 9;30 AM on a Friday. At 10 AM I called to see if there was a sceduling problem. They told me that their schedule showed 9:30 to 10:30. I said OK and waited and waited and waited. I called again and they apologized for the schedule screw up and asked if 10 AM on Saturday morning would be OK. I agreed. At 10:30 AM on Saturday and they still have not shown, nor received a phone call for the initial inspection .At 10:40 I received a phone call that they were 5 minutes away. That their schedule showed 10 to 10:30.They finally arrived and after discussing the project I received an estimate

After several visits from other companies, I selected Select Basement Waterproofing Inc. because of. professional discussion, the price and that they did not try to sell me anything that I did not need beyound the one wall and window-well. I admit that I was a little concerned about their punctuallity and if that was a reflection on the work to be done. For the actual work they arrived approx. 1 hour after the scheduled time, but then proceeded to install a french drain, sump pump and a window-well drain, including painting the wall in question (which the other companies did not include). The job, in my opinion, was accomplished quickly, cleanly and professionally. They even laid down an entrance tarp from outside to basement to avoid tracking dirt into and out of the house. They were in and out in 3-4 hours. If needed, I would definitely hire them again and recommend them. All the individuals I came in contact with were extremely pleasant with which to deal and they politely answered all my questions even as the work progressed.
