  • I hired Ted Mechnick Last fall to recolor the stamp concrete around my pool. He gave me a descent price of $8500 but I see now it was only to get the job. He asked for $4500 up front in cash and we paid it to him he came and did one coat of the stain on the concrete asked for $2000 more which I really did not feel comfortable paying so much up front. He took the $2000 and never came back. said the weather was not right. after the hard winter the coloring he did flaked off. (See pictures attached...) you can se the old color coming through he only did one coat and did not put enough material down to begin with. I wanted him to redo it he argued with me telling me I don't know what I'm talking about and I should stick to my business. I was so appalled by his behavior. Still just last weekend he was pulling our chain telling us he does not know when he will ever be able to come back. I had someone else completely redo and finish the job and am going to sue him for the money back. Do your self a favor and not use this company or have anything to do with him. He will take your money too and not finish the job..

  • Biaggio the owner came in person to do the estimate with one of the men who would perform the work. They brought ladders for the estimate and climbed up 3 stories to see the chimney damage first hand and took pictures. He gave us an estimate and was able to start within the week.Due to the steep pitch of the roof, they erected scaffolding to ensure safety for the two men who came to perform the work. They ground out all the old mortar and repointed all sides of the chimney and ensured all cracks were sealed against the weather. They were done in a day and a half and shared all of the before and after pictures via email with us.

We were very pleased with the work, and the courtesy and experience level of the owner and the workers and would use them again for sure.

  •  I called Up On The Roof for estimate on a chimney liner install. They returned my call promptly. Answered some questions  then made an appointment for estimate.
On the day of the estimate Up On The Roof was very thorough explaining my particular situation. The price of $963.00 was to cover the liner, cap, tee and cost of permit.
On the day of the  installation, the chimney liner install  went really well. They did a great  job. The work area was cleaned up very nicely.
If that was not enough, they incurred the extra cost of the permit. Living in Brick Township, the cost of obtaining a permit for chimney liner install is $100.00 more than any of the surrounding areas. At the time of the estimate , it was assumed that the permit would cost $80.00. The cost of the permit in Brick is $180.00. This was one job I was glad to contract out, and it is especially nice when the contractor does a great job.

  • When I first began my search for a masonry contractor, I took the prudent route and solicited estimates from six different service providers. Of the six, only four responded with phone calls; of those four contractors, only three showed up in person to actually look at the proposed work; of those three, only one contractor actually conducted himself in a professional manner, taking his time to measure out the scope of the project, took accurate measurements, recorded the information, spoke to me about my expectations, provided me with his approach to the work, assured me that he would personally be doing the work, offered references for jobs he had performed in the area, suggested ideas after LISTENING to what I was wanting to do, and then promised that he would have a written estimate emailed to me that same night.
True to his word, that same night Bob Guggliocciello emailed to me a detailed, written estimate which outlined the scope of the project, the phases of the project, the materials he would be using, the estimated time it would take, a proposed start date, and a reasonable price for the work, which included all materials, special equipment requirements and taxes. It was straightforward and easy to understand, and encompassed the whole project. This was for the first project - the foundation, chimney and steps. The project was estimated at $22,435. Bob only asked for $5000 partial payment to start the job. This was important to because it showed to me that Bob had a viable business model that meant he was going to be around to finish the job as well as start it. He also didn't ask for another installment payment until he was more than half way done. And true to his word, Bob was on-site every working day to do the work himself along with his small crew of workers who have been working with him for over fifteen years. This means that the quality of work is consistent and that the actual owner of the company is standing by his work. While doing the work, Bob and his assistant masons were focused and I always had the impression they were acting like they were working on their own homes, with the professionalism and care they were using in doing the masonry work. What was also impressive was that at the end of each work day, they took the time to make sure the work area was clean and organized. They gathered their tools and materials and placed them neatly to the side, to make sure that my access to my driveway and home were not inhibited in any way. Also, during the course of the work, Bob took the time to show me what was being done and explaining the progress of the work, and why he was doing the work in the manner that he was doing. He always took time to answer my questions. During the course of doing the work, my family and neighbors were commenting on how great the house was looking and that it looked like a new house. Bob picked up four new jobs from folks in the neighborhood who were not only impressed by his work but by his work ethic. Throughout the project, I asked Bob to do some small additional tasks that he gladly did. And when the job was done - the estimated price was the price that I was charged. There were no surprises or any increases. And Bob personally came back and spent a whole day to make sure the area was cleaned and looked like he and his team had never even been there. All my family and neighbors have done nothing but praised the way the house looks. and quot; This looks great!and quot; and and quot; It's like a brand new house!and quot; and and quot;Wow, this is so beautiful - it really has transformed the house!and quot; has been the consistent reaction from family and friends who had seen the house before the work was done. Some had even drove past the house because they didn't recognize it after the great work Bob had done. The cultured stone that Bob applied to the house was probably the most difficult to apply since it is very time consuming and the application involves a lot of detailed work. In addition, Bob used real state to outline the border of the house and on the front steps - whereas a lot of other masons used cultured stone for these pieces. The difference in quality and how it looks is remarkable. I have had two friends who are general contractors visit me and they both told me that the work that Bob did was top-notch. To me that was the icing on the cake - when you have people in the business - people who really are peers - give you that kind of review, that really confirms that the work is of the best quality. I appreciated the professionalism, integrity, patience and pride that Bob displayed in his work and in his dealings with me. It was for that reason that I when I decided to re-do my backyard, and replace my deck that was damaged from Sandy with a whole new look using pavers, and even thought of having an outdoor grill island built, that I asked Bob to give me an estimate. Again, Bob followed the same approach he used with the foundation and chimney. He provided a detailed estimate, etc. The whole process was a repeat of the first project. Bob again did the work and again was on time and the estimated price was the actual price. And the reviews from family and friends was just as astounding. They couldn't believe how my backyard had been transformed. Bob had done it once again - exceeding expectations and conducting himself with professionalism and integrity. The backyard was a challenge and Bob offered many ideas and suggestions to help.
If a homeowner is looking for a mason who does the best quality work, who stands by his work, who has an excellent work ethic, and is a man of his word and operates with integrity and takes great pride in his work, and knows what he's doing - then Bob Guggliocceillo is the mason you should be using. I recommend Bob without any reservation and know that whomever uses Bob will be extremely satisfied with the results.

  • This was my second job by Artistic Concrete & Design.  The job was completed exactly to my expectations, scheduled quickly once the estimate was approved by me, finished in less than 3 days.  The job looks great and the bonus is the workers leave no trace, even cleaning up yard debris not related to their job.  A pleasure to be able to put trust in a local business.

  • These guys are top notch from the office staff down to the workers and Scott who watched over the whole project.  They are the Mercedes Benz of patio installers, and while their price was higher than others I got, I'm of the mindset you get what you pay for and do it once right.
The initial presentation Scott gave was top notch and he went through everything that shows why they are the best.  They use a triple compacting process and dig down about a foot to make sure these pavers aren't going to move or have stuff growing in the cracks.  The guys worked fast even thought the weather was cold and the paver patio turned out looking awesome. Scott gave us good recommendations, but was never pushy trying to upwell us on anything. They even came back after the job was completed to do a final clean-up of the property.
The communication I received from Tammy and Scott was fantastic and I'd definitely recommend them for their service.

  • I called Matt to get a quote.  He returned my phone call within 20 minutes.  He was on-site the next day to walk the property and had a quote for me within 24 hours. He was personable, patient, and very easy to work with.  After signing the contract, he was on-site to start the work the next day.  The 7,000 square foot driveway was completed within 3 days.  A job well done.  We are considering bringing Matt back to work on two porches on our rental units and to do our snow plowing this year.  I would not hesitate to use him again and would definitely recommend Pyramid Renovations and Matt to my family members.
