It went great. I love my kitchen. The owner worked hard to find me the products I wanted at the best price. He went all the way to New York to get the tile I wanted for my backsplash in the kitchen. I wanted 4 inch wood for my floor but it was too expensive. He researched and found it at a price I could afford. The floor is beautiful. I get so many compliments. I would recommend him to anyone and I would definitely use him again.

Joe and his crew hit a home run for us. in under 3 weeks, Joe hit every item on our checklist. And it was a long checklist! We paid as each job was fully completed so we never worried about paying up front. Joe was able to offer suggestions on unusual issues that needed to be addressed and took our advice on the non negotiable items. We plan to use him on our next project!

They did an excellent job every time and if there was something that I thought could be better, they immediately responded and took care of it in order to make sure we were completely satisfied. Honesty, fair price and professional work sums up my experience with this company.

    Jack Cwyl & Son Builders
We called Jack Cwyl & Son Builders for an estimate for remodeling our downstairs living room, dining room, kitchen, bath, new floors, and opening up walls to give us an open concept living space. Jack was very professional and very straight forward about our expectations, explaining everything to us to ease our fears and avoid any surprises that we were worried about, and gave us some design suggestions to make the most of our project. Once we proceeded with the remodeling, we were kept in the loop every step of the way. Work proceeded on schedule without any surprises and with great quality and workmanship. They met all our expectations and gave us the beautiful home we've dreamed of. I recommend Jack whenever possible to my friends and family.

Our house is large so we had a crew of about 6 men working here for 2 entire weeks.   These guys did a fantastic job.  They were very hard-working, courteous, and they always cleaned up after themselves.  The company owner, George, is very knowledgeable about painting and very professional. He came by every morning to check on the progress of the job.  We we willing to pay to have the job done right, knowing it would not be cheap - but that we'd save money in the long run because it would spare us needing to have the house painted all over again in several years.  We opted for top-of-the-line exterior paint for a more durable finish. On some sections of the house, the existing paint was loose, and we knew that scraping and sanding those areas was essential for a good paint job, so that added to the price.  We also agreed to have them do the numerous wood repairs I mentioned above, and that added several thousand dollars to the price. We knew if we  hired a separate contractor to do all the repairs, it would have cost us more. One of the crew, Isiah, is also a great carpenter so he went ahead of the painters with his tools and did repairs on the porch decks, trim, and more.  Another thing was that several shutters were missing, and we didn't want to spend to replace the missing shutters as they'd need to be custom-made.  So we asked the guys to move some shutters around so each window would have a complete pair, i.e. a shutter on both sides -  we were OK with leaving a few windows on the back without any shutters where it was less visible.  Better than spending a few thousand on several custom shutters.  But even moving the shutters around took a lot of measuring and planning  - we had so many windows, and hence shutters, of different sizes.  This house was built in 1875 so nothing was "standard."  It was a massive amount of work which is why it came to $20,425.  It was well worth it.  Many people have commented on the beautiful paint job. We are extremely pleased with the result.

    Wilber's Painting
Wilber's did a very professional job. The house is almost 100 years old, so the floors aren't entirely level; the job required a lot of finessing. They paid close attention to what I asked for, made suggestions that were helpful, and then executed the job in a timely manner. The shelves are beautiful and the focal point of the room.

Initially, Glenn and an assistant came out to install a medicine cabinet and sink/vanity that I had purchased. That went well, but we later discovered that the pipe in the wall was rotted out and the jostling from installing the new sink caused it to leak. Glenn returned and replaced the pipe and unclogged the entire pipe. (apparently the clog had held it together for some time!) When we went down in the basement to make sure the leak was fixed, he noticed a smaller leak that was actuallky due to some missing grout in my shower stall. For an additional price, he regrouted the shower stall as well. Although the job took longer than expected, Glenn was thorough and did an excellent job. I will use him in the future and have recommended him to family members.

A piece of molding had fallen off the porch roof of our Victorian house. We are very handy ourselves so we bought some wood molding and we tried - making many attempts and spending several days of our time - to cut it to fit. On a historic house, things you expect to be perpendicular are not, and things you expect to be parallel are not either. Despite our multiple, patient attempts, we just could not cut the molding so it fit perfectly at the corner AND didn't leave any gaps along its 5-foot length. If it fit on one end, the other end popped out. Etc etc. We finally called Plainfield Restoration and they did the job beautifully and for a reasonable price.
I gave a "B" for responsiveness only because this firm is so busy that we had to wait some weeks for them to have time to do our small job.

    Angie's Pride Railings, Inc.
It went quite well. Angle came on the day he said he would, at 9:00 am, began the job and was three fourths of the way done. Came back the next day, but the plaster was not dried. He went above and beyond the expectation of his work. We want to have him put in a new railing going down to our basement.
