    Came early to start work, all work was done in about 7 hours. Was a bit annoyed that baffles weren't put in until I said so. Rodent proofing specified was not done to what was stated in estimate (ie checking drop ceiling in basement & checking outside).

    The owner came himself, along with his most professional and respectful managers, Jesus and Victor. The work was done with perfection, and most importantly, cleanly. They took care of our house while working, to ensure I didn't have post cleanup. True to their word, the attic is re-insulated, re-boarded with the proper materials, cleaned, sanitized with all holes fixed. The owner ensured we were satisfied and inspected the work before accepting payment. True professionals, we rarely experience this. So we were very very very impressed and appreciative.

    The house is noticeably warmer and outside noises are much less noticeable. Owner and son did the work themselves, were very friendly and cleaned up after work very well. They also tarped living areas so dust was minimal.

    Very professional from beginning to end. The energy audit that was done by Neal was smooth with no issues at all. The staff was courteous and thorough. They were very detailed in explaining exactly what was going to happen. They were here for a couple days and put in a foot or so of sprayed in cellulose insulation in my attic as well as seal up areas that I was losing energy. It took a little longer than we anticipated but it was well worth it. Since they've done the job my gas bill has LITERALLY been cut in half! Last year I spent over $300 on my gas bill in the heart of the winter. This year only $130! Could not believe how much energy I was losing. They used a very precise approach to everything and I couldn't be happier with the results.
      After the completion, they performed a quality control assessment and then returned to perform additional work that wasn't even originally proposed. They definitely went above and beyond. I think it was kind of a state mandated thing, but that just went to show that they were very concerned about doing it the right way. My tankless water heater uses virtually no money per month ($15) and I can take as many showers as I want in a row with no issues while doing laundry. I was able to get approved for a sizeable grant from the state and the other half I financed with no money down @ 0% through state financing. Pretty amazing program.

    Energy Assessment
    That went really well, lasted about an hour. Jim offered some good pointers and showed me on his thermal camera all the spots where cold air was coming in. Highly recommended to anyone looking to find where the heat is escaping!
    Crawlspace Insulation
    Kate and Jim came by a few weeks later and insulated my crawlspace. As the temperature is warming up it's hard to tell the difference so I'm going to say all is good! (I will do an update when the temp drops again).
    The only reason I gave a B for "Overall" and "Price" was because I paid $500 to have the crew clean out the old insulation and cardboard. While that was done - the 17 contractor bags were left behind for me to dispose of (which is an exercise that is still in process as I'm finding creative ways to get them to the dump). If this was communicated to me previously I must have forgotten it as it was a surprise to both my wife and I.
    Otherwise, the service was good. Jim and Kate were a delight to have around for half a day. And we'll hopefully have a nice warm house next winter.

    UPDATE: I revised my score to an A. I connected with Kate about the confusion and they offered to remove it for me. Great customer service goes a long way. Thanks Dr. Energy Smart!!

    The project was very well done, from start to finish. Found this company as an Angie's List Deal. Tony, the owner, came to give an estimate the same day I called. Right away, my husband and I just got a good vibe from him. Lots of experience and knowledge. The cost estimate was a little higher than we were expecting, But went ahead with him anyway. Getting a definite start date was a small hang-up as there were jobs ahead of us and iffy weather. Once the crew arrived, the project just flew by. They did an excellent installation job, cleaned up after themselves, and were friendly and courteous. They even replaced my outside lights and mailbox with new ones I picked up at Home Depot. Tony doesn't usually get into deck refurbishing, but he agreed to clean and repaint mine as a courtesy given the overall project (he did charge extra to do it - $1700). It turned out great. Gutters were installed by a third-party which seemed to have their own schedule. One tricky part was the garage door. We wanted it replaced as part of the project, however, they don't do garage doors, just house doors, which we weren't planning on doing at this time. We had to find another contractor for the garage door, and in the process of doing that, we ended up selecting some new doors for the house as well. If I had one suggestion for Tony, it would be for him to replace garage doors as well, so then I'd only have to deal with one contractor.

    They came to my home and they mentioned what needed to be done and they have not done the service at this point. It is a bait and switch as they told me that more work needed to be done than the Big Deal and they did not do the insulation and they did not install the fan either for the Big Deal.

    The provider arrived on time and immediately got to work.  We have already noticed a difference in the temperature of our home and a reduction in our PSE&G bills.   The only thing I wanted to mention was that we were advised that they would come in perform the work - which included punching holes in all exterior walls, blowing in the insulation, cleaning up, spackling the holes, and re-painting the spackled holes.  However, it takes about 4 hours for the spackle to dry, so my husband sent the guys home without them re-painting the holes.  I then had to touch up and paint the spackle (thanks hon!)  Despite this, I have not reduced the grade I am giving them because I think this is pretty much my husband's fault and not theirs.

    Owner/Project manager answered telephone call himself and came to give estimate within a day, arriving at the promised time. He explained in detail both the process of notifications, scheduling, work contemplated and the itemized cost. He did not pressure or advocate any unnecessary work. Written estimate was provided at the time of inspection. When he was called to ask to schedule service, he did so promptly. He and the crew came on time, worked diligently(with few breaks), completed the job of removing asbestos insulation from pipes and asbestos floor tiles and re-insulation of heating pipes in the promised time and for the agreed upon price. Crew was hard-working, courteous and left a clean job-site. Certificates of completion were provided. A very professional manager, crew and organization.

    It all started with a storm door in need of repair and a subscription to Angie's List I received as a Christmas present. My very first call to Mr. Handyman was answered, I believe on the 1st ring,  by Anne. A VERY good beginning and 1st impression.  She voluntarily explained  their employee vetting process without me having to ask.....a clear sign to me that this employer is proud of the employees and their skills. I was able to schedule Mr. Landis at a mutually convenient time to repair the storm door.  He was a joy. Prompt, personable, skilled, quickly diagnosing the problem, and thorough in every way. 

    During my initial conversation with Anne, I mentioned I had other items needing attention. She recommended I make a list and do a walk through while Mr. Landis was here which worked out perfectly. I e-mailed Anne the list; we e-mailed back and forth a time or 2, but when I had more questions unsuited to e-mail, she graciously agreed to make a phone appointment with me @ 7:30 one morning before I had to start seeing patients... again.. for me, it worked out perfectly and all my questions that could be answered @ that time were handled.  Based on the pricing rates contained on the original invoice, which by the way was meticulous, we were very, very close in our cost estimates.

    Because of my work, I need long lead time to be away from my Clinic and arrange coverage. This first encounter was in Mid-March and I was able to schedule the additional work without difficulty for 2 consecutive days in the beginning of May. The day arrived after a confirmation phone call from Bruce,  and so did Michael and Anne.. not only promptly, but early. We did a quick walk-through and they tackled Day 1.

    They brought a stunning work ethic not often seen these days; self-directed, internally driven, collegial and collaborative; truly mature, experienced and skilled professionals.  My first priority was the dining room and as it turned out,  it was "bigger than a breadbox" with much more extensive damage from birds nesting under the window a/c unit. Long story short... needed a new a/c unit, new sill, a new window, AND a creative solution to keep out more "nesters".  They could have just 'told me that" and left it, but no... not only did we use my iPad to go on line to find the proper size unit recommended in Consumer Reports + the closest location for me to get it, but they also made several calls to find a vendor for the new (not "off the shelf") window, ordered it for me, had it delivered to them, and scheduled a 3rd day for installation. Let me give you another example....the stairway down the basement. I had a "small repair" to the ceiling listed; Anne took one look @ it and said "Oh... this needs to be fixed..."  and so not only did she "fix" the ceiling, but stripped the tape from the drywall, scraped, re-taped and spackled it, but after it was dry and before she sanded it, she completely taped off the bottom of the stairs with floor to ceiling plastic drop cloths to protect the clothes stored there and put on 2 coats of paint!    Day 2 proceeded apace + a bit more than the 8 hours for each of them.  Did I mention that not one single moment of those days was wasted? Tasks were handled concurrently; there was no "disappearing" from the house...pretty much everything they expected to need was brought with them and at hand... no "oops...I have to go out to the truck."  They were completely focused, disciplined, diligent multi-taskers and personally delightful to have in my home.  Clean-up? meticulous; not a paint drop, not a wood chip; all the trash carefully bagged and taken outside for pick-up and after they vacuumed up the last speck, I'd be willing to say it was cleaner than when they arrived!

    Day 3 was a week later, again preceded by a confirmation call that the window was in and Mr. Landis would be coming the following morning. Same smooth, expert performance; old window OUT; new window IN including custom cut sill and fitting like a glove; old a/c OUT; new unit in, caulked, pitched perfectly, seams sealed and more BIRDS! and just in time for those 4, 90+ degree days we had.  I could go on, but am running out of superlatives.

    I've shared my experiences of course, with family and friends, e-mailed fotos of before and after, and snail-mailed the "checklist" of available services not only to others here in NJ, but to Houston, LA and Seattle... even with my patients when they've asked

     "So how did it go???"

    This experience was like watching 2 executive chefs, working in concert, seamlessly preparing an elaborate, multicourse meal and having each offering come to the table perfectly prepared, exquisitely plated and ALL AT THE RIGHT TIME! 

    It was amazing............... 

    Just a hint... they are VERY organized and so I'm glad I tried to be as well; made a list, did the walk-through, asked questions, planned ahead, elicited their recommendations and had purchased all the supplies I could to make the work go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
