Excellent. This is the second project that Carlos did for me. The first job in 2017 went exceptionally well and I obtained the trust that Carlos and his team could tackle this much larger project professionally. Carlos was very responsive and had excellent ideas in design and selection of materials. All permits were obtained and they worked well with my electrical contractor in coordinating the installation of lighting for the piers which included trenching and avoiding other underground utilities. The drainage of the new driveway was well thought out and the results are fantastic. All of Carlos' team are customer driven and are devoted to meeting and exceeding the customers expectations. I am confident that this project has added to the value of my property and look forward to working with Carlos on another project in 2020,

Excellent! Anthony came out and talked to us about the job. He answered all our questions and sent the contract within a couple of hours. The workers were quick, neat & professional. Anthony showed up with the workers as they got started. He never left us wondering about anything. The sidewalk matched the old very well & they were done in just a few hours. I would use him again for other projects.

Julio was a pleasure to work with. His email communication and text replies were timely. While I changed the project multiple times, he was extremely accommodating to last minute changes. The pricing estimate he provided was fair. I would definitely use him again for other projects.

    Garcia's Construction and Design Inc
It was a pleasure having Garcia's construction working in our house. Jaime and his crew did a great job. They came on time and did what they said. Very clean job and the best part, no more water in my basement after they install the sump pump and run the pipe to the street. I really recommend Jaime for your project.

Carlos was very responsive with a proposal describing the work to be preformed. Once we agreed to specifications and terms he scheduled the work to be done in a timely fashion, that fully met my needs. Crew showed up on time and were very professional. Extremely pleased with the entire project and outcome.

As soon as the Janice team arrived they were very professional and helpful. Not only did they ensure that the project come out exactly as i imagined but they also educated me in how to maintain the Kool Deck properly. Even after the project was done they kept in touch with me to make sure i was 100% satisfied. Very happy with this company!

It went great. Teegan and Butch made me feel like I hired real partners to address the many issues stated above. Hard-working, caring, and considerate. They work hard to make sure all expectations are well communicated and met to total satisfaction. They went the extra mile everywhere. They refinished the railings that had to be re-installed after the beautiful new stairs were built, and they reset the whole landing at the bottom of the steps just to make sure everything looked good together. And, they built a very nice stacked brick base for my mailbox with leftover bricks. The point is if they see something that could be addressed while working on the project, they just offer to go out of there way to add value to the total end result. Same thing happened with fixing the water that was coming into my garage - this was a major problem and other contractors weren't sure how to solve it. Teegan and Butch worked their butts off digging several yards of dirt, laying out a french drain system, and again (extra) went the full extra mile to reset my entire walkway pavers to get the right height and pitch for drainage just to make ensure the quality of their work (no cost). I could go on, but I just want to say that these are good people that I trust to look out for my interests, not just theirs.

Carlos came out on a Friday and gave me an estimate. I accepted and he proposed a start date of the following Tuesday. December 1st. He emailed me the contract, I told him it was acceptable. On Tuesday morning the crew was there to rip out the old driveway and sidewalk. It was raining but they completed the tear out on schedule. The Belgian blocks went in without a hitch. The sidewalk was formed and poured. Two concrete steps needed to be replaced along with some broken slate on the landing. This was all very well done. After tearing out the driveway he leveled it with a truckload of aggregate. On Monday they put down the asphalt and it looks beautiful.

This was a BIG project, much bigger than I had anticipated but Mike was the right man for the job. The old driveway was a total mess and couldn't be saved. From start to finish, this went about 10 weeks. The project:
-- Excavate the old driveway and soil below; haul it away
-- Install the underground piping for drainage away from the house
-- Install electrical conduits from one side of the driveway to the other
-- Haul in the new sub-base material and grade it
-- Bring in additional sub-base material and complete final grading
-- Lay down top layer of asphalt (3")
-- Pretty up the concrete steps to the back door of the house (called plastering)
This project also required coordination with my electrician, fence contractor, tree service, and gate installer. It was a lot of work getting everybody to show up on a schedule that worked with all the other contractors. Mike was a big help working this out and not leaving it up to me.
Mike was very professional in his work and in ensuring that no corners were cut. This was particularly important with the tree adjacent to the driveway that had to be removed so that the roots wouldn't damage the new driveway. He made sure the tree contractor ground out the roots all the way down knowing that any wood left behind would eventually rot and cause the driveway on that side to sink.
What I didn't realize going in was that the sub-base has to sit for at least a month (you can drive/walk on it; encouraged actually) so that it is fully settled prior to paving. With paving, it's all about the sub-base. We had to go a bit longer because it rained quite a bit and the sub-base needs to dry out plus Mike's paving machine was out of action for a week. The final grading looks real good, ensuring any water drains away from the house and toward the street.
Mike has all the right equipment including a genuine paving machine, drive-on roller, and other compacting tools. The place looks great now and this will also be a big help in the winter when the driveway needs to be plowed.
While I had Mike around I asked what he could do about our sad looking rear concrete steps, short of replacing them. For a lot less, he was able to plaster them (a skim coat of concrete) and they look like new.
You can probably find someone to do this kind of work cheaper but you have to wonder if the finished project will be durable--after all, done right this kind of work should last a long, long time. Pretty at first doesn't necessarily equal durable.
Mike and his crew worked efficiently and carefully, protected all the areas around the paving, and cleaned up everything.

    United Waterproofing Corp

I have been struggling with water in my basement since purchasing my older home 7 years ago.  I have tried various 'fixes' such as new gutters, rerouting gutters, extending  the downspouts, installing a sump pump and regrading my property. Nothing eliminated the water coming in.

I have come to dread forecasts of nor'easters and warnings of local and urban flooding as this meant that I would have to monitor the basement, mop and wring out towels I had placed in the trouble spots to absorb the leakage. The last straw came with the spring storm of 2014. The rain following the thaw was very heavy and although I had a sump  pump, there was no stopping the water coming in through the cinder block walls which came in faster than I could mop it up.

I looked at and interviewed a number of waterproofing companies and eventually chose United Waterproofing for a number of reasons which include

     - Angies List Super Service Award Winner for 4 years straight. 2010; 11; 12; 13

     - ZERO complaints listed by BBS website for the past 3 years. ZERO

    - United responds to EVERY comment posted on Angies List indicating to me that they actually care

     - As of this writing  90% of past customers of past 3 years have left a A rating.

After arranging an appointment, their salesperson, Jeanne, came to the house a few days later. Jeanne was very knowledgeable.  She inspected my basement, made her  presentation. I was impressed with the detail of the presentation which described United Water proofing's staff, equipment and experience as well as complete details of what to expect during waterproofing process.  I decided to call Jeanne back a second time to finalize the details of the work and schedule a date for the install.

The crew of 8-10, led by Jonathan, arrived on the appointed date. After discussing some installation details with Jonathan, they got started. These guys got to work immediately and there was no nonsense. It was clear they all knew what they were doing and each set out to the job at hand. They moved and covered everything that was remaining in the basement as well as putting plastic down on the floor leading to the basement entrance.  They really worked well together and I was impressed with the professionalism and teamwork.   They did everything Jeanne said and the work was completed that day however they did not do the final cement work because we needed to get the work inspected.  United had obtained all permits.

The inspector came a few days later, as scheduled, and Jonathan and his crew completed the cement work as soon as the inspector left.

Given the work that was done, I was very happy with the way everything was cleaned up. It is a mess anyway you cut it but in reality, these guys did everything they could to minimize the remaining clean-up.

We have had a few good storms that normally would have caused water in my basement. The system handled it and both sump pits were pumping. Any leakage that might be coming in through the cinder blocks is now being diverted by the drain boards and no longer running onto my basement floor.

I am confident that this system will be able to handle future storms and keep me dry. The best part is the peace of mind that comes from no longer worrying about forecasts that include nor'easters and local flooding.

    Thank you United Waterproofing!

Update 3/16/2015: For the seven years I have been in this house, the Spring thaw followed by rains has been a major headache. Cold seepage would enter the basement where the walls met the floor and continued for a day or two after the rains stopped which required me stay on top of the mess with towels and mops to soak up the incoming water. This would then be followed by running the dehumidifier for a week or two, scrapping the blistered paint off the floor and, finally, repainting.

This is the first spring with the new system and it was put to the test.  I am happy to say the system performed with flying colors.  The two sump pits that are instlled in diagonal corners of the basement were both called into service. These pumps are so quiet that you almost can't tell when they are activated. The basement remained completely dry! This was money well spent. Thank you again United Waterproofing.  You cannot know how relieved I am to know that I no longer need to man the towels and mops and stand 'water watch'.
