    TDM Sealcoating
TDM came out to measure and inspect. They suggested filling some cracks, which I did separately. They didn't pressure adding extras and gave me advice for doing the work myself. They arrived on the scheduled date and completed the job. Everything looks great!

    Hardrock Paving LLC
He did an excellent job with the driveway. However, his machine damaged my drainpipe...crushing the lower part and pulling it away from the house. I sent a note asking him to fix the drainpipe, but never heard back. The drainpipe is now supported by a brick ....and it's been more than a year.

    TDM Sealcoating
I'll never reached that guy again. Yeah I called him but he didn't call me back for that so I don't know. I wasn't satisfied. The cracks and everything is still not filled after the work so I'm not totally complaining but I just want to try to get better job if he can but after that I called him but he never responded back. They asked me but I say my job is not totally satisfied so don't go with him that's how I suggest him. Price was good but work was not.

    Kleen Seal Driveway Sealing
It went great. Sent them an email asking for an estimate. They did the estimate within 48 hours, and left a written estimate in my mailbox. No hard sell.
I then called them to schedule. They were out within a day or so based on the weather. They did a nice neat job. As someone that has been sealing his own driveway for the last 29 years, I was very pleased with the job. And I also had a 20% off coupon that I got in the mail, so the job came out to be an exceptional value.  I came home from work, and it was done. Perfect.

    Mata Paving and More LLC
The Mata crew of 4 arrived to our house at the time promised.  They had all the equipment needed to drill and remove our old driveway that had deep tire imprints and tons of cracks.  The rolling of the foundation and pouring the asphalt was done with no mess.  During the construction there was little disturbance and they were careful around our landscape.  They got the job done efficiently and with great satisfaction.  Also they left no debris behind.  I give this company 2 thumbs up.  Our next project with this company will be replacing our front walkway, steps and patio.  That's how much I approve of their service.

It went very well. He called back after my first call to him and left an estimate within a day. He said he could come the following week. When another job canceled he called back and said he could come sooner. He came when he said he would and filled the cracks in the driveway. Everything looks great.

Overall, a very pleasant and easy experience. Tim from TDM reached out promptly and we scheduled a date. He called the day before and gave a time window which they arrived within. The work performed was great and the driveway looks awesome. I will be using them again in the future.

    Howard Paving & Excavating Co
The reason I chose Howard Paving in the first place was because they told me exactly what they would be doing and how they would do it before we even got started, and I liked what I heard.  They were going to tear out and dispose of the existing asphalt, lay a bed of I5-grade crushed stone, and put in the Belgian block in the first step.  Then I would water the driveway daily for 4-8 weeks to let everything settle.  Then, they would pour 2-3 inches of new asphalt.  Since my driveway has a quite a steep slope and was completely falling apart, I felt this was a good approach for laying a solid foundation for the new driveway.  My biggest worry was that the new driveway would start to crack and sink the same as the old one.  (Only time will tell if this is going to happen, but I feel they did everything they could to avoid this problem.)
The crew showed up when they said they would.  They worked quickly and finished the first stage much faster than I expected.  Howard Paving has all the big machinery you could want for this type of job and they weren't shy about using it, even on my smallish driveway.  My only minor quibble, was that they cleaned up and left without a word.  But in fairness, my contact point with the company was easy to get a hold of and always answered my questions.  Actually, when there was a mixup with my phone number, he went above and beyond by stopping by my house in person to get it straightened out.
So I spent 8 weeks watering the driveway each day after they laid down the crushed stone.  I could see it compacting and hardening day-by-day, so I had a good feeling that I was laying down a solid base.  They told me to park our cars over it to help it settle, especially in the areas that the cars might normally sit.  This seemed like a good idea, and it's better than parking in the street for two months.
A word about the Belgian Block.  They were good about asking me if I wanted any cut-outs on the sides so you can get better access to the grass.  They did a good job with the block.  It's straight and solid as you would expect.  For the mortar joints, they actually inverted the joints to give it a unique look.  Instead of pushing the mortar inward to form little channels between each block, they inverted that and created little caps instead.  I was fine with that, but I wish they would have asked first.
The last step was to come back and lay the asphalt.  This was done very quickly, although it seemed they were spending extra time going over it with the compactor to make sure it was just right.  I see a little bit of a rise down the middle of the driveway, where the two "lanes" overlap slightly.  You will notice the same thing in multi-lane roads.  They used the same type of machine to lay and smooth the asphalt as you see when they are working on a highway.  So, I suppose, if my driveway had the same traffic volume as a highway, you might get some wear in the seam area, like you always see on a highway.  Again, not sure what could be done about that, and it's a low-traffic driveway after all, not an interstate.
We stayed off of the driveway for 10 days, and lightly misted it each day, like they said.
So overall, I am satisfied with the job.  And I learned a little bit by watching the guys work.
As for the pricing, it seemed like a fair price -- I didn't get a ton of quotes.  I was looking more for quality than for the cheapest price.  I paid $500 down, then $2250 after the crushed stone was laid down and the rest of the money after the asphalt was laid down.
They recommend a sealing coat after the first year.
This was pretty painless, other than two months of watering the driveway every day for about 10 minutes.  (Maybe I overdid that part?)

    Back To Black Sealcoating LLC
Provider applied coating to my driveway on a Thursday. We were instructed to stay off the driveway until late Friday at the earliest. I chose to stay off the driveway until late Sunday afternoon. My vehicle left tire tracks. I contacted the vendor who told me this was normal due to excessive oil from a thick coating and that all marks would wear off with a few good rains. After a few weeks of some heavy rains, the tire marks remained (as they do to this day). I contacted the vendor on two occasions. He told me he'd stop by and look at it and give me a call...I've yet to receive any call or reply.
It's now going on two months since this work was done and my car still leaves new tread marks on days that it is hot. I will not be contacting again about repair. And because I can't afford to have my driveway done over, I'll have to wait until next spring's tax returns.
The price was right, but i guess you get what you pay for.

Bruce was very responsive and provided an estimate in a timely manner.  On the date of service, he and his assistant were very thorough preparing the driveway for filling and sealing.  Once the cracks were repaired in the asphalt, Bruce carefully sealed the driveway with attention to detail.
It rained later in the day after service was complete and washed away some of the crack filler recently applied.  Bruce had no problem returning to my home a few days later.  He refilled the cracks and resealed the entire driveway to ensure color consistency.  I am very pleased with the exceptional service and quality.
