Drywall Repair reviews in Park Ridge

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • John was excellent to work with, very punctual, tidy, helpful and actually did a few extra things like removal of vines off my garage, removal of dead shrub in the front of the house. We did not want to pour too much money into the house as it is a rental, and John had very creative and cost effective ways around it. It looks fabulous!

  • Amazing, after the horror story's you tend to hear about contractors. John and his crew have proven that the're are great contractors out there. John was there every step of the way, from the planing stage to the finishing details. The crew was polite, professional and trustworthy. I would recommend John and his crew to anyone!

  • The job started with demolition of old bathroom. John and Scott made sure all floors, closets and other areas were covered so as to keep my house clean. John explained what was being done each day so I knew what to expect. The job progressed on schedule, all inspections were passed 1st time. The finished product included double sinks, toilet and large new custom shower with seat. I'm thrilled with my new master bath.

  • I have been dealing with this problem on and off for about 15 years.  When it first started, I hired masons who dug out the front area where we located the crack in my poured concrete foundation.  Not being waterproofing specialists, they only tarred the area and put black plastic.  What is worse, is that they did not dig all the way down to the footing, leaving a gap that eventually allowed water to seep in when there were heavy rains or when the ground was saturated from melting snow.

I interviewed 3 other companies to attempt to finally fix the problem.  Jeff from American A-1 Waterproofing was the only one who wanted to fix the problem from the source which was the crack in the foundation.  So first, his worker Gibson came and removed sheetrock to expose the cracked wall from the inside.  He was professional and very neat.  Then Jeff came a few days later and we placed running water outside and within minutes we saw water coming through the inside wall from the previously repaired area. (The others were not interested in the old crack; they just wanted to sell me French drains.)

I cannot say enough good things about their workers, Loubeth and Raphael.  They dug out a large area taking care not to harm plantings or sprinkler heads.  They worked long and hard to expose the footing and fix the problem right.   They were professional, and went the extra mile to seal minor cracks that were in other areas.  When they were done, they refilled the area and left it as if nothing was touched.

Two days after the job was completed, it rained all day and there was a hard down pour at night.  I checked my basement and to my amazement it is DRY.  No puddles, no seepage from hairline cracks...DRY!  I am so satisfied with American A-1, and would recommend this company if you are having water problems in your home.

  • Provider was very responsive with communication.  They came when they promised and did the work efficiently and effectively. The result looks great, even without final painting.  They were kind enough to bring a small piece of drywall to do the job, even though their ad said that the customer needed to provide this material.  This was a decent thing to do, especially since it involved about a 1.5 ft square piece of drywall, and it saved us the time and hassle of finding a small piece of drywall at our local store, rather than having to buy a large piece, most of which would not be needed.  They are a family owned business and are very pleasant people to interact with.  I would highly recommend them for any jobs you need to have done involving drywall repair.
