Honesty, Integrity and Quality! I cannot speak highly enough about Dutra Sewer and Water!!! Was walking in my yard on the weekend and fell into a septic pit that had been abandoned 30 years ago and collapsed. No homeowner wants to deal with this type of disaster!! I got several estimates from other sewer companies that ranged from ok to the absurd deal with my abandoned septic system. The next day I called Dutra Sewer and Water in Montvale, NJ at 7:30 AM. I dealt with both Mike and his staff and they knew exactly what I had. Mike was over looking at my property within 30 minutes of me calling and fully explaining that what I was dealing with was very common and could easily be rectified! I was provided a full detailed estimate of all services and costs. We agreed to proceed, within 2 days the job was done with all permits receiving full inspection and approval by the town. Even more impressive was when Mike provided me with the estimate I explained that I was very concerned about my landscaping being destroyed in the repair process. Instead of using a huge machines that could cause allot of collateral damage Mike brought in 7 of his people to hand dig the job and still kept the price in-line with his original estimate. The end result is truly amazing and we are back to normal!!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would!!!

I have been dealing with this problem on and off for about 15 years.  When it first started, I hired masons who dug out the front area where we located the crack in my poured concrete foundation.  Not being waterproofing specialists, they only tarred the area and put black plastic.  What is worse, is that they did not dig all the way down to the footing, leaving a gap that eventually allowed water to seep in when there were heavy rains or when the ground was saturated from melting snow.

I interviewed 3 other companies to attempt to finally fix the problem.  Jeff from American A-1 Waterproofing was the only one who wanted to fix the problem from the source which was the crack in the foundation.  So first, his worker Gibson came and removed sheetrock to expose the cracked wall from the inside.  He was professional and very neat.  Then Jeff came a few days later and we placed running water outside and within minutes we saw water coming through the inside wall from the previously repaired area. (The others were not interested in the old crack; they just wanted to sell me French drains.)

I cannot say enough good things about their workers, Loubeth and Raphael.  They dug out a large area taking care not to harm plantings or sprinkler heads.  They worked long and hard to expose the footing and fix the problem right.   They were professional, and went the extra mile to seal minor cracks that were in other areas.  When they were done, they refilled the area and left it as if nothing was touched.

Two days after the job was completed, it rained all day and there was a hard down pour at night.  I checked my basement and to my amazement it is DRY.  No puddles, no seepage from hairline cracks...DRY!  I am so satisfied with American A-1, and would recommend this company if you are having water problems in your home.

Exactly what we'd picture our yard would look like. Kern dug and filled our very slopped yard and created two leveled areas with a four foot stone wall. Kern added top soil, seed, and peat mulch to top it off. Being new house owners we have many projects that we'd love to complete and will gladly use Kern to do the job. Thank you guys!

This is the second time we've used Keith.  Last summer he built 2 additions to my home, 2 huge bathrooms and a laundry room.   This spring, he and his team finished our basement and added a basement bathroom.
This time around we didn't use an architect, we drew out the plans ourselves and Keith totally "got us" and our vision.  The basement looks great!  I completely trusted Keith to work in our home, even when we weren't there.
We're saving to do our kitchen too, and I'll for sure be calling Keith for that!

We had purchased a beautiful home 2 months ago. We knew about the chronic basement water seepage problem during home inspection. We decided to fix it after we purchased the house as it was our dream house. We contacted several basement waterproofing companies during inspection and also after we purchased the house.
Denny K Masonry reviewed the water seepage problem in the basement. We showed them the video and pictures of the water seepage which was recorded/taken when it was pouring heavily one day. After reviewing the basement utility area from the inside of the house, the pictures and the videos, Denny K Masonry advised
us to perform an exterior waterproofing of the basement/foundation wall. The work involved exterior excavation of the basement area (where the water seepage problem was observed), dig dirt deep down up to the footing of the foundation wall. apply 2 coats of cement and waterproof all the way up to the point where the soil was back filled.  Not only that, since the house had brick siding, the company also noticed that the water seepage was also happening from the area in between the bricks/ brick joints. They removed the old unfinished cement and re-applied new cement to bond strong enough and again re-applied the waterproofing coating on the bricks. Window wells were installed around the 2 windows too. Also, the patio area was re-leveled such that the rain water would flow to the center of the patio that led to the drain.
The entire effort was supervised by the chief contractor Denny every single day.  They even helped with moving the shrubs/expensive garden plans from the excavation area to the side of the property and again bring it back after the job was done. He and his crew worked at a steady pace and did not rush to finish the job. This is very important for any type of construction related as you don't to rush to get the job done faster.
Overall, Denny K Masonry did the basement waterproofing job with due diligence and more importantly, meticulously performed every phase of the project starting from excavation, digging, coating, waterproofing, back filling and all the way up to re-instating the garden bed.
We highly recommend Denny K Masonry to our family and friends and neighbors.

The company recommended to install a water management system all around the entire basement area from inside, including the areas that were not impacted by water seepage. We were not happy with the proposed solution as this meant digging all around the inside of the basement area which was finished. Also, the proposed solution did not answer the source of the water seepage. We know for sure the source of the water is coming outside of the house. It would make sense to first understand the source of the water so it can be stopped from outside either by changing the gradient of the floor outside or exterior excavation to correct the foundation wall from outside. Hence, the proposal given to us is of no use as it cannot solve the problem permanently.

Everything went very well from the estimate to the work done. It has been 2 months and there has been no further water in the basement after quite a bit of rain. There was a slight issue with the scheduled start date but they paid for us to go out to dinner to make up for it. Very nice staff and easy to work with. Work was very clean and done in one day.

Went great, overall. This was the 3rd company we called in for an estimate, so we'd heard other sales pitches already. The Thompson salesman seemed much more knowledgeable than the others and did not try any scare tactics or high-pressure sales tactics, which we appreciated. Also, the estimate was the lowest out of three, so we went for it. The workmen were punctual, polite, and worked h****** this job. During the job, the workmen found that part of our flooding issue was due to broken pipes around the basement window wells (which they explained thoroughly and showed us) so we agreed on a price for that job and had that completed as well. Even after that added expense, the total was still far less than the other estimates we had received, so it was still a great deal.
